This place is AMAZING!!! Have been here on vacation for a week and have eaten here almost every! Their breakfast is amazing, must try the Caprese and their Chicken fried streak has venison gravy. The food is so fresh and the service is excellent. Absolutely delicious place to come will recommend to anyone coming to the Crested Butte area!

Smaller restaurant with pretty good food. I had fish tacos which were perfect– not greasy, good flavor. The Patagonia salad looked amazing. They had live music playing too which was great too

Was here in the fall for a mountain biking race and came for breakfast — it was wonderful — now we are back for ski season — wanted to book a table after a full day of travel — Douglas was wonderful — dealing with flight delays — food did not disappoint! Short rib, trout and steak salad! Prices were not crazy — great value — menu had lots of variety — put this on your list!

One of the best happy hours in town, with $ 2 Colorado draft beers and tasty snacks. Taco Tuesday is a great deal! Also a great spot for a nice dinner. The trout is delicious and the«tofu steak» was a delightful surprise! Great options from steak-eaters to vegetarians. Super friendly service, definitely some of the nicest people in town.

Made a reservation via open table and was looking forward to eating here. Showed up right on time and was told«we don’t have a table for you guys, the owner doesn’t always check open table». How does that work? Went across the street and had a good meal at Bonez. Won’t be coming back to Coal Creek.

This place was recommended by an employee at Crested Butte Umbrella Bar, Dave. Restaurant is very cozy, very neat older building in Crested Butte. Beer is very very cold, happy hour is offered! We all ordered the Filet! Steak was excellent, cooked exactly how we ordered! Service was great!!! Would recommend to anyone traveling to Crested Butte!!!

Coal Creek Grill has a KILLER happy hour. $ 2 for craft beers, $ 3 margaritas, and BOGO cocktails with an appetizer purchase! We were just in over the weekend, and it was not packed at all. Could be the«shoulder season» between MTBing and skiing. But quiet is ok with us. Definitely sit on the patio along the creek if the weather is nice. The rib tips on the app menu are unbelievably delicious! They come with fries too so you can get that as a meal. I’m going to find a butcher that sells rib tips so I can try my hand at making them myself. So so good. The jalapeño cheese-steak sandwich is ridiculous! Don’t let the $ 16 price sway you. It is HUGE and so tasty. And damn it now I want one.

Good beer selection, and the rainbow trout was delicious! Great desserts too — we shared the cherry chocolate cheesecake and the chocolate mousse, both very good. We loved the food and the service so much that we came back here two nights in a row.

Came here for breakfast this weekend and our server, James, was great! Bottomless mimosas were never bottom and the buffet had many different delicious selections. I loved the granola crusted French toast! I recommend to anyone for sure.

Not Impressed!!! Sign advertised breakfast for weeks and planned family breakfast but when we arrived the door was locked. Sign said they open at 8 but no one came to door until 8:30 and informed our party of 7 that they were no longer doing breakfast. Told us they changed their opening times yesterday.

Stopped in for the $ 11 all you can eat breakfast. Cheap enough for breakfast. The French toast was good and the venison gravy smothered all over biscuits and home fries was very tasty. Sat next to the creek, that was nice. Probably need to step up the coffee game however. Hot water with a coffee bean. Service was good. Friendly folks.

Staff was fairly uninterested that I was there and the food was bland and pretty uninspired. Pretty disappointing.

Outdoor seating right by the running water which was beautiful. We both had the salmon spinach salad. More like salmon on a bed of spinach. Needed a lot more spinach to make it a salad. My blackened salmon was cooked perfectly. Part of my husbands was raw but such a big piece he was full. We pointed out to server at end of meal and she just said«oh». Kids meals were fantastic. Love when restaurants serve kids real food. The fish nuggets were actually big pieces of fish from fish and chips. My 5 year old loved it but it wasn’t a nugget so if your kid is pickier you might want to ask. Chicken was not frozen strips which made us happy.

I’ve been living here for almost 10 years now, and Coal Creek has been a welcome addition to Elk Avenue. In its second season, this has become one of our favorite bars to drink at, but better yet, the food is top notch. It’s not cheap, but for what you get, it’s not outrageously expensive either… well worth it. I highly recommend the Tomahawk Steak, and the Venison Tenderloin is off the hook, as well. And I have to mention happy hour. It’s gotta be the best in town — $ 2 local drafts, and 2-for-1 specialty cocktails, along with a myriad of appetizer options. I used to do the Ginger Café happy hour, and I’ve since migrated over here. Ok…this has become an essay. but I can’t say enough about this place — from the food and the cocktails, to the servers to the owner, it’s got a great vibe. Check it out

Well this place has a great happy hour during the week, $ 2 Colorado craft beers from 2pm to 6pm. Other than appetizer s the only thing I have had is the Venison biscuits and gravy. I have had it half a dozen times, and it always leaves me wanting more. Also they have a killer Tito ’ s bloody Mary that is a meal in itself. That being said I think i’ll have another.

Great happy hour! Every day from 2 – 6 pm! $ 2 microbrew drafts, though it is a small selection, and 2 for 1 cocktails with appetizer purchase. We ordered their queso fundido with chorizo and it was delicious! Definitely wanted more. The waitress was attentive and nice, but it was kind of quiet at 3 pm on a Sunday. I spied venison biscuits and gravy on their menu for breakfast, so I will definitely be back for that! Cool old building, right next to the creek, though it being winter all we saw was snow. All in all, a great local spot.
