Love Sherpa Café! I live in Gunnison and work in Crested Butte so I eat often and both locations. I usually get the Chicken Tikka Masala with medium spice because it is just amazing. I have never once gone to Sherpa Café and not gotten at least one order of Naan. It is so delicious. Highly recommend.

Very slow poor service though they were very nice. The food was mediocre and very expensive. Unfortunately, we won’t be going back.

Don’t fall for it. This used to be a good place. The previous nice folks got bought out by the new nice folks who are now dishing up bland, one dimensional swill. Lamentable, because I genuinely would like a good Indo-Paki-Nepa place in CB.

I give it 2 stars for the naan and margarita. The people are nice but that can’t make up for the food.

We really wanted to like this place but the food was so off-putting that we left very disappointed. The sherpa rolls and momo appetizers were microwaved to order, so the dough was rubbery and the filling lukewarm. The masala was bland and tasted like canned tomato soup. The naan was good, but it’s a pretty hefty price to pay just to enjoy their bread.

Pork dumplings had a great flavor and I highly recommend them. The Sherpa fried rice and Tibetan noodles were tasty and the flavors were not too strong to scare off a less adventurous eater. The prices were affordable for a tourist/ski town, prices varying depending on the meat you choose with your entrée. We liked seeing the Sherpa décor and brochures.

An amazing opportunity to have real authentic Nepalese food. The food was delicious. I highly recommend the chicken tikka masala. The appetizers were also great and the chai tea was unbelievable! They also sell local Nepalese beer which is extremely difficult to find. The owner was also great. She was extremely friendly and provided great service. It was amazing speaking with her. There was no music when we were there so it felt a bit quiet in there but not a big deal at all.

The vegetarian and meat options were both fresh and delicious. A charming low key vibe amidst larger touristy venues. Authentic, right down to the staff/cook singing Tibetan tunes while cleaning up :)

Horrible food. The thenthuk and vindaloo both taste like tomato soup. No indian spices at all. Literally ever table in the restaurant was complaining about the food having no flavor and ordered items that were forgotten. In one case a man asked for the dal that came with his meal and the lady said most she didn’t bring it because most people don’t like it. Another table complained because they thought they had the wrong dish. The owner explained that it is correct and that she left some ingredients out because she didn’t have them. Would not recommend at all!

So bad it was(almost) comical. When a fellow diner overhears you ordering vindaloo and walks across the room to tell you how flavorless it is(how can vindaloo be flavorless?!), you know you’re in for a treat. The food: The chana masala sauce literally tasted like Campbell’s tomato soup, despite the server telling us she’d make it spicy for us. I tried to send it back but was told they forgot to add spice(red flag), and what they brought me back tasted like Campbell’s tomato soup with Tabasco. So bad. So not Indian. A couple of the other entrees were okay(chicken tika masala and the Nepali chili). It seemed like other diners were having issues with their food(not just the vindaloo dude). The service: They were out of so many things on the menu and seemed surprised that we wanted them(decaf chai, two beer options, one wine option). Bizarre, even in the off season. The entrees were supposed to come with dahl soup, but I had to ask twice where it was. It was actually pretty tasty, but came at the very end of our meal. The service was awkward and ineffective. I know mountain town town options are limited, but this should’ve been so much better(and many places in town are).

The food was delicious! My friend and I went later in the day so it wasn’t very crowded. Our meal came out pretty quickly and it was amazing.

Great place for a simple, inexpensive meal in Crested Butte. My wife had the stew and I had the noodles and the beef stew was tastier. The naan was fresh and delicious and the dumpling appetizers were good too. The service was friendly as well… family owned place. If I were to give some pointers, I’d have a designer re-do their menu to make it easier to understand… and then there are a few basic food service pointers like making sure all the salt and pepper shakers match, and that hot sauce is service in a ramekin rather than just handed to me in a giant plastic bottle. I’ll definitely come again when I’m back in town.

I wandered past this place earlier this week and a few nights ago when we were pretty hungry after a long day on the trail, I suggested we stop in. It was AMAZING! The lady who took our order was so friendly and helpful. She had a great sense of humor and answered all of our questions. When I was asking her questions about the kinds of broth the soups had, she made sure to point out that everything was made in the kitchen and none of the broths came from a package(«NOWAY!!,» she said). I got a sautéed noodle dish(I can’t remember the exact name) and my friend got masala. Both of our meals were amazing. He ordered super spicy hot and she warned him that whatever happened in the bathroom was not her fault(lol). A word of caution though, if you only want a little spicy, make sure to REALLY emphasize the«little». I ordered«a little spicy» and there was definitely a kick to my food. The great thing though was that it was a flavorful spicy, so I still really enjoyed my meal, even with my mouth on fire. I would go back to this place in a heart beat. What a wonderful experience all around.

Pretty decent food here. You get alot of food for the price. I had the beef momos and tibetan soup which were pretty good. Our party of 4 liked all the dishes that they had.

Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere! I highly recommend this place! I ordered the vindaloo. It came out in a timely manner. The spice level was perfect for my tastes and the dish was very tasty. The rice and soup that came with it were also delicious.

Amazing food, very quaint and friendly. If you plan it right, you may get to talk to the owner, who is from Nepal. Highly recommend the lamb kebob or the chicken korma.

One of my favorite places to eat in Crested Butte. Food is always prepared quickly and is fresh and tasty. Owner and staff are as friendly as they come. Great prices and equally great portions. Quaint and intimate atmosphere.

TINY place, seats maybe a dozen with a few more at the bar. We were worried about the wait, but since service is quick it wasn’t too bad. The food was FANTASTIC. I can only speak to the quality of the meatless items, but the veggie korma was the best I’ve ever had. It came with a little cup of delicious lentil soup we fought for the last slurp of. We also tried a veggie stew that knocked our socks off. The naan was fluffy and tender, fresh out of the oven. Portions were generous and prices very reasonable, especially considering we got two big meals out of each entrée we ordered. YUM!
