Enjoyed a tender delicious Ribeye dinner tonight. The meat was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. You really didn’t need the knife it was so tender. We started with grilled Brussels sprouts with Goat cheese and bacon, moved on to lobster bisque then the steak dinner with baked potato and fresh veggies. The steak was excellent, the Brussels sprouts were creamy and decadent but I did not care for the lobster bisque. Too much nutmeg. All in all a great meal and the service was great.

This is sort of the only game in town so I am thrilled that the food is so good. If I am eating meat, I love the beef skewers. they have killer onion rings and great salads and sandwiches as well as a good bar and very friendly staff. Its a little gem in the middle of nowhere so if you are passing through, have a great meal and exhale!

What a great find! When you walk in, the wood-fired smell is SO great! Big selection of food — loved the calamari & shrimp, and also the sauteed mushrooms. Got a steak sandwich that was delicious ans tender. Good selection of local wines, too. Service was friendly and fast. Will definitely be back!

You will have the most delicious steak ever if you come here. It’s a country place with great quality food. My family and I go for any birthday or event.

We went here based on, Unilocal rating. Very disappointed with the food. Our waiter was great. Ambience was more coffee shop than steakhouse. Filet mignon with peppercorn sauce was very good and tender. Baseball cut top sirloin was properly cooked and tender but flavorless. Ribs were subpar… not tender and not very tasty.

Where the locals go on Friday and Saturday. Although it came highly recommended, we thought it was okay. It’s good, but easily forgotten.

I am a local here on the Central Coast and this is by far my Favorite Steak House! The Filet’s are Choice and cooked to perfection! Save room for desert too! Grasshopper Pie is amazing and so is the Chocolate Suicide Cake.

Solid four, every visit. They wont disappoint. A tad pricey. Mostly all local ranchers, farmers and families. The pizza oven is pretty cool. You cant really make quality pizza without an oven like this one. Kid friendly, but like I said, a tad pricey so we limit our visits.

I am afraid to review for this place because its a hidden local fav. so if your from out of town, here is my review for you. This place has to be to worst place I have ever been to, everyone is rude and it took forever to get our food. when we finally got it, it was completely wrong and cold. I had to send my food back 3 times until I finally decided to eat what they gave me. the wait staff never came around to see if we ever needed anything, then it took an hour to get our check when we were done eating. Avoid this place as much as possible. Now for my real review. This has to be the best place for steak in the entire area. The prime rib is ALWAYS perfect every time I order it. The wait staff is the best around, always friendly, helpful, and attentive to our needs. I never have to ask for a refill on our drinks, and they care about their work and the restaurant. Anytime we feel like steak, its a no brainer where we are going. Its small, quiet, and away from the crowds of the city.

Wow! I can’t believe I don’t come here more often! The homemade bread is unbelievable! I had the Tri-Tip Ceasar salad… The best I have ever had… Way to big for one person tho so split it and save room for dessert!

Great meat, well prepared, great service. You can request skinny fries, and the baked potato was perfect. Dinner starts at four… Perfect place to go after a drive in the hills… Now we need a nap! Luckily they have great Americano coffee and really decadent desserts!

A place out of the old west. We dropped in for a late lunch and had a pleasant and hearty meal. I had a BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger while the others behaved themselves and went with either the Tri-Tip salad or turkey sandwich salad. Service was great and attentive. Our food arrived quickly partly because we were one of only three tables there. My burger was excellent with just the right amount of associated mess to warrant a few extra napkins. The salads I am told were good as well. The turkey sandwich salad was a little unusual being just what it sounds like. Dig through the lettuce a la Indiana Jones style to find a yummy open faced sandwich. Not much to choose from out this way but you won’t go wrong eating at the Loading Chute.

I was in Paso Robles recently for a girls’ wine tasting weekend & one night we went to the Loading Chute for dinner. It’s a rustic, country western cowboy style place with lots of wood, rope, spurs, boots, barrels, etc everywhere & you get served huge, man-sized plates of meat. I’m in. The atmosphere was charming, as was our server. She was so attentive & friendly & kept cracking jokes & making us laugh. The complimentary bread was fresh, hot & amazing. My clam chowder was delicious & so were the garlic mashed potatoes I got with my main course. But all this aside, I would still give this place a five star rating based solely on the prime rib alone. I ordered it medium rare & it was one of the most exquisitely tender, melt in your mouth, insanely delicious pieces of meat I have ever experienced. Hands down. And that creamy horseradish sauce they serve with it… Heaven. Since then, I have seriously considered making that 3 hour drive back up to Paso Robles purely to get the Loading Chute’s prime rib again & if you ever happen to be in the area, go there & get it. No joke, it’ll be one of the best pieces of meat you’ll ever put in your mouth ;)

I know that it is a sin to be in California and not go to In-n-Out for hamburgers, but have been there, done that and was not impressed, so please forgive me for the following review. Spending Christmas on the central coast of California — Paso Robles to be exact. Desiring to take up our search for the perfect hamburger, we chose to visit the Loading Chute in the small community of Creston(8 miles SE of Paso). The Loading Chute is your typical cow/horse/farm country bar and resturaunt — warm and comfortable and filled with genuinely nice people. Surprisingly, they have quite an extensive menu which includes about a half dozen or so burger choices. I went with the Old Fashioned Hamburger with cheese and my wife chose the Bacon Cheeseburger(oddly, it must be a Pendleton, OR kind of thing, but she had to order the BBQ Bacon Burger w/o the BBQ sauce), while my mother-in-law decided on the French Dip. They chose French fries as their side — I went with coleslaw. Must say my burger was great, though the coleslaw was a little disappointing, it believe that to be a matter of taste. Both my wife and m-i-l seemed to relish their choices, so am assuming they liked theirs as much as I did. Five stars for great food, service and affordability. It is a must visit place, even for you In-n-Out folk.

The Loading Chute has been around forever. I can hardly believe I just got around to telling you all about it! The whole town of Creston is just a click above an ink spot. So don’t blink when you come to town or you will miss it! The food is always consistent and good. Mys last trip was an ortega burger and fries, and a few stolen onion rings mooched from my friend. All was cooked perfectly and server promptly and politely and this is the long term top place in Creston. They have a big party area in back for local weddings and bands. So you never know what you might encounter in the little town of Creston.

This is the only place in town for dinner. Not hard. With a population of 94 in 2010 and covering an area of about ½ a square mile according to Wikipedia, Creston is really easy to miss. But they do have a zip code. There is a weathered red wooden building, looks like an old timey saloon, on one side of the dusty road. If you see the vast hay fields just beyond, you have just passed it by. This is the home of one of the most magnificient prime rib meals in the entire county. We had the privilege of a wine tasting in nearby Stanger Winery. Molding Sanger into a great little winery, the winemaker/also pourer had highly recommended this out of the way, rustic steakhouse as far better than anything you could find in Paso Robles. And he sure was right. Nightly, prime rib is on the menu. And if you are lucky(we were) and there are leftovers, the next day you can get a huge, open faced prime rib sandwich, with au jus(fabulous!) and steak fries for $ 15.99. We did ask they not put cheese on it, purists that we are. Who needs more? And if it tastes that good the next day, then I guess it must be unbelievable the night before. Bookmark this one, baby! And get the prime rib!
