Went here today looking for a certain foot massager for my wife for Christmas. Online, I saw they carried it. Of course, 3 days before Christmas, the place was a madhouse. I found where the massagers were, but of course they didn’t have mine. Right next to them was a terminal, where Kevin was talking to a customer on the phone. With all the chaos going on around, he was very polite and calm, and gave them their time. He got off the phone, and I asked if he could give me a minute. He had something in his hand, which meant he had something else to do, but he said of course. I told him my dilemma, then he said let’s look in the computer. We found 1 of my model in the tri-state, at the Colerain store. I was prepared to leave right then, but he said hang on, let him call first. Turned out they sold the 1, so he saved me a trip. He then asked if he could order me one, and I said no because I needed one by Christmas. I thanked him and we parted. I sat down for a few minutes & checked a few other places on my phone, & none had it. I decided my wife could wait, besides, BBB had the best price by far, so I decided to order one. I tracked Kevin down, & although he had 2 big blankets in his hands he was trying to stock, he calmly asked me to wait at a quiet terminal in the corner & he’d be right with me. One minute later he joined me & he carefully placed the order, making sure it would be delivered giftwrapped with a card on it. He then gave me the receipt, & told me when I came to pick it up, show that receipt & they’d credit me 20% back. The whole time he was calm & made sure he gave me my time without feeling rushed – despite all the chaos around us. I wanted to shout-out Kevin as an exceptional employee, & recommend anyone to seek him out when visiting this store. Thanks Kevin!!!

I was in town for a wedding and of course I waited till the last minute, aka the morning of the wedding, to purchase a gift for the bride and groom. I figures since we were having breakfast across the parking lot and there was a 30 min wait, I could get in and get out before we were seated. I went right to customer service to get their registry printed out and the employee had a really hard time finding the registry. I stressed I was in a bit of a hurry but she didn’t seem to care. Finally someone saw her struggling and came over and printed it right off. It wasn’t long so it was easy to pick something. I asked for directions to where that item might be located and the women just sort of waived in a general direction — not very helpful. I went in search of the bath accessories and had a really hard time finding them. I looked around for help but I couldn’t find any employees. Finally I went back to the counter where 2 – 3 employees were to ask if I could get some help. One reluctantly came over and halfheartedly searched for the item I wanted to get. When they told me they didn’t have any(didn’t check the computer or back stock) I decided in to grab a picture frame(not on the registry) since I wasn’t going to bother to have the employee«try» and find anything else. I went back to the check out and waited in line. When I got to the register I explained my sister works at another store owned by the BBB company and I was her designated shopper so I got her 20% off discount. I gave her name, employee number and store number and the cashier said she couldn’t find the information. By this time my party had been seated at the restaurant and were waiting on me. I was annoyed that she didn’t offer me a coupon to get the 20% off, I had to ask her for one. Begrudgingly she gave me 20% off the frame, no gift receipt, of course. I grabbed the frame and ran out the door. After breakfast I came back and someone new was at the customer service desk. I asked if I could wrap the gift I had bought the hour before. She said it was fine and pleasantly showed me where the gift wrap station was. She was the shining star in the whole thing & I wish I could remember her name. I am a frequent BBB shopper so this location really disappointed me.

I don’t see this as being a bad Bed Bath & Beyond, nor an exceptionally great one. It just… is. The place is pretty overwhelming and on a micro level, poorly-organized. Sure, «kitchen» is a large section, but things within it can be hard to find. I think this place could benefit from some signs hanging from the ceilings so we could easily see if shower radios are located in the bathroom section of the nick-knack section.

I’ve never been here as a ‘regular’ shopper, it’s always been either for buying something off friends’ wedding registries or doing my own registry. Service has always been quick and helpful. They must be trained to watch for people with those telltale purple sheets in their hands looking lost, because there always seems to be someone coming up to me asking if I need help finding anything. I’ve never had any problems flagging someone down either. As for doing my own registry, I had a good experience. We came in not having an appointment and they happily accomodated us and took their time helping us go through what we needed before sending us off with the scanner gun. The online management system is pretty user-friendly, too. Tip: Stash a stack of those 20% coupons in your car so you never forget them.

Yes, it’s a chain and yes, I’ve bought many items for my home from this location and the one at Rookwood. However, on my most recent visit in search of bathroom scales, I was less than pleased with the results. With at least 20 different varieties of scales on display, less than six of them worked! Most lacked a working battery; many others displayed an error message! How can I choose scales if they don’t work? On top of the above mentioned problem, no one asked if I needed help. I was in the same area of the store for over 20 min. I’m sure I’ll be back to buy something… their 20% off coupons come in the mail so often, but it won’t be scales!
