This place is terrible. After we were sat it took 10+ minutes for someone to take our drink orders and to order queso, we finished our chips and queso before anyone took our order and drink refills were non existent, I could understand more if they were busy or people weren’t just standing around. The waitress acts like she’s in a hurry to take our order and impatient. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place.

Very very good Mexican. They were super nice, quick and we were happy to stop there on our way back to Ohio. Great prices too.

So listen. 3 stars is «A-OK» and that is exactly what El Tarasco is. I’d easily go back(and probably will). Their menu is fairly diverse but I don’t think they actually expect most of their clientele to get past your basic fajitas, burritos and nachos. The drink specials look to be quite nice although this mama wasn’t going to partake during the school week so I’m really basing that observation on the low prices and frenetic neon writing :) We went in for a late-by-Crestwood-standards 8pm dinner on a Monday and we practically had the place to ourselves. Rather than ignore us, the wait staff was helpful, friendly, and ever present. My El Camaron Mexicanos(spicy shrimp over peppers and onions) were cooked perfectly — more than I can say for some fancier venues and their seafood of late. My son got exactly what he wanted when he ordered(chicken burrito with white sauce, per the usual) and the queso and free basket of tortilla chips were expected but perfect for what they were. El Tarasco, you’re no just-north-of-the-border authenic Mexican restaurante but you’ve got the basics covered and you’re good people. That’s A-OK in my book.
