I went here for lunch today. It was okay, not great, but not bad. The pro’s: It’s relatively inexpensive, web ordering makes ordering and pickup very quick and easy, it’s healthier than fast food and it’s very close to where I work. I had the ginger broccoli with brown rice and tofu. I would eat it again. The downside is that it tasted just okay, not spectacular or anything. Like I said, I’m sure I’ll go there again.

No, no, no. This was Asian fast food where you pick and choose your stir fry, noodles and add ins. It had the potential to be good, I mean asian stir fry is a pretty fast food to cook. Sadly, it was poorly seasoned, the veggies and such were pretty bland. Everything was blegh. Ordering at the counter was easy and service was good, so it earned the 1 star, but otherwise, if you want good asian in the area, almost any other option is better than this place, and probably a little cheaper too.

Not impressed! For starters the chicken in my entrée should have been cooked longer. It had an odd taste/texture, and there were bits of ginger? in the sauce that were very overpowering. The portions are small and not a good value $ 7 for a tiny portion of sweet and sour chicken, and a cup of cold, stale rice. There was a hair in my daughters meal which we had them remake, but that was hard for her to get past. Gross. So she never really ate her meal after that. The crab Rangoon’s freshness was questionable to us as well. In conclusion this place could be good if the items served were fresher, properly made, and served hot. I don’t think I’ll be returning any time soon.

Walked in for quick service and ordered their Chicken Pad Thai. The food was very good and fresh made to order. My friend ordered their vegetation dish with tofu and drunken noodles. Both ordered arrived with ten minutes. The food and service overall was good. Prices are very reasonable and the food portion are generous. I ordered the small portion and left with a full belly.

Loved the concept of this place. Fast, well-done«Asian» food without the fast-food feel. Wonderful atmosphere. Nice menu choices. Decent food. I loved that I could have a glass of wine as well.(Although it’s the bottom of the barrel brand and completely overpriced.)

If you don’t want to spend the time or money to go to PF Changs than this is the place for you. We order out lunch here several times a month and the order is always right and I love that they have a separate entrance and register for take out to make it easy to get in and out. Especailly around lunch time 11 – 1 the place is usually really busy. Parking can be kind of a pain but everything else is great.

Meh… I really wouldn’t come here. Prices are a bit higher for the portions and the taste. Came here with a bogo coupon with a buddy, twice, and ordered 4 different things. The sauces seem to all taste the same regardless of what we ordered. Definitely worth it if it was 50% of the price, but yea. sorry, there are definitely better asian /chinese places. The one plus side is the food /meats seemed always fresh and high quality. But dunno… probably not coming back.

I had their take on orange chicken. The taste reminded me of the cartons of frozen Chinese food one can find in the frozen section of most grocery stores: overly sweet with a large dose of processed, mechanical saltiness. It doesn’t exactly taste like real food; an average Chinese buffet is better. The crab rangoon was good, but I also seem to like just about any of those. There are way too many solid Chinese places on Olive Boulevard to waste your money here.

The Mongolian beef here is awesome IF you order it without any sauce. Every single dish I’ve had here with ANY sauce — be it sweet or spicy — has been so overly sugary sweet that I was not able to eat it. I love their soda fountain, though. The service is fast, and it’s much less expensive than their parent company, PFCHANGS. Also, they offer brown rice.

First time at this location. Plenty of parking. Restaurant was clean. I tried the online ordering and it was easy and very convenient. I like that it provides options of what you can get as extras. Who knew its that easy to get extra lettuce for the lettuce wraps! Got: 2 spring rolls. Too notch! Good mix of ingredients with the glass noodles and carrots. I will get this again. Chicken lettuce wrap. Always tasty. There seemed to be less filling then when eating in but I couldn’t tell for certain. Pei Wei spicy chicken. Original size(vs small). Add on the fried rice. For $ 0.99 you can upgrade to fried rice. It’s definitely worth it and gives the meal the extra flavor. This was really flavorful with just a touch of spice. Veggie and tofu lo mein. I am a big fan of their chicken lo mein. First time for the veggie tofu version. I don’t think I plan to get this again. There seemed to be no sauce. While the chicken lo mein is sometimes greasy and a bit salty, this version had no flavor. I liked the veggies but the tofu was flat thin slices that seemed to be grilled. The thin slice made it dry and a bit hard. Customer service excellent. Food was ready when I arrived. They offered all the silverware and fortune cookies I needed. The damage. $ 31.59. The receipt does have a survey where you can get a cookie. The cookies are at the counter and they did look really good. I will be back with the convenience of online ordering and plenty of parking.

This was a fresh take to my usual Chinese. Meaning I usually get fried rice, spicy hot braised or sweet honey chicken w lots of sauce. This experience was that of white rice, thinly sliced carrots & red pepper& a citrus flavored chicken called thai dynamite. «Spicy» it was not. Honestly more lime flavored. good but just not enough sauce for me or the spice that I was looking for .So it was a tad underwhelming. I’m sure I could add more spice next time but I’d rather just try some pad tai or other dish. Crab wontons were very krabby. Not bad, not great.(Unless u prefer that) I prefer sweet cream cheese rangoons. Pork egg roll did have a lot of pork & I enjoyed that. Friend always gets teryike chicken! It’s a once a year place for me. I just prefer other Chinese places. If ur looking for lighter Chinese, this is the place.

Pei Wei is a bit of a hit or miss Quasi Chinese food joint. The food seems to be dependent on whether not you dine in or take out. Normally I don’t go out of my way to get food here as it’s sometimes not worth my time or money. However after dining there tonight it may as be done for me. Now in the past I’ve had some issues with the cashier/host who takes your order, but tonight took that to a new level. After arriving and glancing at the new yet again menu, seriously stop changing the layout, the cashier just kinda stood there and huffed a bit. I’m sorry did I take away from your private time? We barely got a Hello from her. In reality it was more of a ‘what do ya want?’ type Hello. We placed our order despite the obvious rude attitude. The whole experience was just unbelievable. I get that everyone has an off day, but when it affects your job and attitude to people who spend easily $ 30 just so you can have a job, well I got a long line of people who’d be happy to have your job. We sat down and it being during the dinner rush the place was fairly busy. Tables were sparse as the open ones still had food on them and hadn’t been cleaned yet. However the food came out real fast and real hot. The Pad Thai here isn’t anything mind blowing, but it’s decent enough to be a staple when I go in. Overall the food isn’t anything to rave about but it’s still better than say some of the Asian places around town. Overall skip the attitude here and go somewhere else.

Pei Wei is my saving grace because I’m super picky about only liking white-meat chicken. All of their ingredients are premium… and you pay for it… but you pretty much get a sit-down restaurant quality meal in a fast casual environment. Oh how I love their Kung Pao Chicken, just delicious with a spicy bite to it. This particular location seems to always be packed at lunch time due to all of the offices in the area but, after 5 pm, it’s always rather slow. I work in the area so have picked up take-out dinner here on several occasions. I am so extremely impressed with their online ordering system. Not only can you place your order and name your pick-up time, it’s also very easy to customize orders(i.e. no peppers, make it mild, etc.). Every time I’ve used it, my order is ready and waiting for me. They have a separate register for take out, so you don’t have to wait in line with the other diners. They have their system down to a science.

PF Chang’s little sister. STL seems to love the type of restaurant where you wait in line to order and then pick a table and they bring out your food. This is one of those. Best thing here is also my favorite thing at Changs — the lettuce wraps. A pile of delicousness and a few large leaves of lettuce to wrap it up in. Different flavors and I love them all… Everything else is fine. Service was friendly, even though they made the husbands order incorrectly and he didn’t get his food until we were almost finished eating. Also, when we got there they were out of white rice. Odd for an Asian place at dinnertime…

Meh is about right. I’m not really a fan of PF Chang’s and this place falls into the same category of over-priced, over-salted Americanized mediocrity. I could feel the salinity in my body begin to increase with each bite… We dropped about $ 50 for the four of us with no alcohol or dessert. Everything was overly salty. The high point was the addition of sweet preserved ginger slivers to my sweet & sour shrimp. The low point was the fact that they had a ton of trouble getting our order to come out right and we were offered several things we hadn’t ordered during the phase the wife refers to as the food auction… that awkward time when the server delivering the food doesn’t really know who ordered what and stands there announcing the contents of the plate in hopes that someone will claim it quickly. Sadly, there were several rounds of the food auction before the last dish we ordered was delivered. One round even included a server who wasn’t really sure what was on the plate and returned to the kitchen flustered. The wife may go back because she enjoys their food but hates what I would call better Chinese food… I feel no need to return.

Soo I was at Pei Wei last month with my sister. Then last week, I got an email that they selected by business card for five free entrees! OMG thanks Pei Wei! What a nice gesture for customers. Boyfriend and I walked here after work one day last week. It’s about a mile from our apartment so decent walk to work off the wontons. What is it about Pei Wei’s wontons that make them so good? They’re not just pure cream cheese like most casual Asian places. BF got honey seared chicken, and I got orange peel chicken. I like how they offer a brown rice option. It makes my meal maybe 5% healthier. Both our entrees were pretty good, pretty standard Asian food. Exactly what we needed after long days at work! I will definitely be back, and not just because I have three free entrees left! PS Even when the food is not free, Pei Wei is very reasonably priced. Food is what you pay for — cheap but not bad basic Asian fare.

This was my first time at Pei Wei and I am a fan… I love the menu options… I was able to register and order directly online and then run over there and pick it up to go for the office. At first glance it seems a few dollars more than your typical lunch choice but you get a nice healthy sized portion of quality food and ingredients. I opted for brown rice, veggies, tofu, and the japanese noodle terriyaki sauce… It was really filling and delicious. I ate half and took half home. My husband then heated up the leftover and added some pork to it as he wasn’t a fan of the tofu and had a satisfying meal. I thought my tofu was prepared excellent it almost tasted like meat and looked like a slice of portabella mushroom. I will return frequently…

At first I thought this was simply another quasi-(American)-Chinese place, positioned nicely between a fast-food spot like Panda Express, and Pei Wei’s more refined sister, being PF Chang. Okay, maybe step-sister, as they don’t share a common last name … unless Wei is part of the first name, and the ‘first name basis’ is intended to reinforce the more casual nature … Pei Wei Chang — or PW Chang. But, then someone might get confused with PW Herman. And then, all chaos ensues …(«Paging Mr. Herman, Mr. P — W Herman …») Ah, but Pei Wei is more than a more casual version of PF Chang. There is a range of Asian options, including Thai themed options, and lettuce wraps. The menu is reasonably extensive. And, many spicy choices. This was my first time to a Pei Wei(probably obvious). The milieu at this location is comfortable, and a slightly upscale fast-food place. They must cook to order, as my dish came out with some smokin’ hot pieces of chicken. Order at the counter, and then a server brings the plate to you. The crab rangoon is very good, by the way. So, net net, I found the experience to be a good one. The food is also good. I had had Panda Express for lunch. Easy to contrast, and Pei Wei is clearly a step up from Panda Express. Counter attendant, and servers were all helpful and good natured. We took a group of about 16, and it went pretty well.(Nice to avoid the hassle of breaking up a check in 8 ways.)
