Visited the Heritage Center last month. Great place to get some historic information about the Pike’s Peak gold rush and enjoy the spectacular views. Admission is free, they have a nifty donation box sorted by state, so you can see who has donated the most. Glad we came here first before going on a gold mine tour and visiting the town of Cripple Creek. Recommend and will repeat when my travels bring me back!

We came here with the bf’s family. Otherwise, we never found have had sense to visit this wonderful place. We had traveled around a bit and see Cripple Creek and the gold mine. And stopped here to get a little more historic information. The Heritage Center has a lot of information about mining. Also, they have a short film downstairs, so do not miss. This stop is very worthwhile.

We were here in July 2010. Extremely well done little museum. Highly recommended. The town of Cripple Creek was a bust. It’s a cute old town that’s been gobbled up by casinos. But this museum and the mine across the road made the drive worthwhile for us.

You had me at free admission. Then you had me with the views. OMG, one feels like they own the world with those views. The exhibits were informative and of interest, some using computer programs to show slide shows and divulge information in a fun way. Others were tactile. Loved the model of the gold mine. Don’t miss the static dsiplay upstairs and we loved the movie shorts in the theater downstairs. Very friendly staff here as well and neat post cards to send home for only a quarter each. If you come to Cripple Creek, don’t miss this stop. And even if they’re closed, stop in for the views!
