Modern Nails

I have to be in the area for work once or twice a month and have often been tempted to pop in for a manicure. I finally gave it a shot. The shop is extremely clean and very comfortable. I was a walk-​in, but only had to wait ten minutes or so for my manicure. The manicurist was very friendly and seemed skilled. She paid careful attention to my cuticles and did a good job with the filing (I keep my nails short-​ish and curved, very natural). They don’t do warm mitts or a wax mask; they do a hand and arm massage. I actually prefer that usually, but she was too gentle, not even rubbing the lotion in all the way. So I wouldn’t really call it a massage. And they became rather busy after she started my manicure, so she rushed the polish a bit and got polish on the tips of some of my fingers — and didn’t clean it off. So I was picking polish off my fingers all afternoon. All in all, though, not bad for $ 15 + tip. I’ll more than likely return in the future.

This was my first trip to Modern Nails and I am very happy with my experience! My cousin, sister and I wanted to have a girls morning before my cousin had to go out of town so our first stop was getting our nails done.
My cousin will not get her nails done anywhere else except Modern Nails so I figured it would be good and I am very happy with the results. We had shellac on our nails which is pretty much the only thing I’ll get on my nails anymore. They had so many options of colors! I picked a mint green and a dark grey glitter. I’ve never liked light colors on my nails before and I had a broken nail that needed repaired so I was concerned that I wouldn’t like the end result. The girl that did my nails first shaped them to the square shape I like and she made my broken nail look perfect so you couldn’t even tell. Once she had my shape she applied the shellac. Because the color is so light she had to add multiple layers. When we finished one of my nails got some wrinkles in it so she actually removed all the polish and repainted that nail.
I had a great experience and my shellac only cost $ 25! Thank you Modern Nails! I am so happy with my nails!!!
