Hey, David H. Leave this fabulous salsa alone – I happen to love sugar/crack…smile. It’s ok to suggest they ADD a low sugar flavor(they may have one of those in the farmer market varieties) but leave what I love alone. Sweet plus heat is tops in my book! Not everyone is interested in giving up sugar in order to pass the healthy test…

Deception Salsa products are quite tasty, across the board — except they rely too heavily on added sugar. Every one of their salsas is sweet, most ridiculously so. Looking at the nutrition label for Girly Girl(seriously?) shows that 1⁄5 of the salsa is sugar. I overheard a woman commenting to an employee that all their salsas were sweet, to which he responded that one of the peppers they use is as sweet as a mango. Then why is sugar listed as one of the top ingredients on every one of these salsas? Don’t obfuscate, dear local company. You know you add sugar for the same reason the food industry at large adds sugars of any form to 80% of its prepared products: it’s crack. Take a high road and reduce the sugar content, because you’re not doing any social or physical favors by selling candied salsa. It would be such a better snack without it.
