The first time I ever went into Sheikh’s place in Cromwell, also known as Dairy Plus, I had just moved down the street. I was in there late at night and bought a carton of milk and a few other things totalling 5 bucks. When I reached into my pocket, I looked into my wallet and saw nothing in it. When I looked up embarrassed(knowing that they did not take credit cards), Sheikh said, «Hey, don’t worry about it.» He had never seen my face before, and he trusted me to pay him back. No tab, never wrote it down. I stopped by the next day and brought Sheikh his 5 bucks. Helping people out is good business. I have religiously stopped at Dairy Plus on my way to/from work for past 4 years — to grab a cup of coffee(Green Mountain! Yum!) or a loaf of bread or that much-needed ice cream. Never stepped foot into the other convenience store down the street. If you’re in town, stop by Dairy Plus and chat it up with Sheikh. Just remember that cash…
