Lapel’s offers a Loyalty Program that rewards you with coupons or offers a discount after a set number of punches on your laundry bag.
Either way, they’re open early to late, even Sundays, clean, friendly, conscientious and courteous — but most of all very professional and affordable!

One thing that may turn potential customers away from Lapels is an apparent lack of same-​day service. Since I’m the kind of person that never needs dry cleaning or tailoring on an urgent basis, this doesn’t affect me. 3 – 4 days is just fine by me. And the prices are every bit as reasonable as anywhere else, if not better. $ 2 for a shirt, $ 6 for a minor sewing repair, and $ 13 to shorten a pair of pants. Those are solid prices.
What’s more, they have a multi-​faceted discount program, pretty much unheard of in the dry cleaning industry! $ 5 off your next order for new customers, periodic discounts, a stamp card that results in even more discounts when you fill it up, etc. Customer marketing and loyalty are the hallmarks of small business, and they’ve really found a good way to do it.
An extremely friendly woman at the counter helped me, and graciously accepted my Hartford Courant coupon, the reason I decided to try Lapels in the first place. It’s just a few minutes from my place in Berlin, near WalMart and all that other stuff, so it’s a convenient location too.
Very nice results too. The repairs were professional and strong.

Lapels is an excellent local dry cleaner. The facility is clean, the staff is welcoming, and the work is always done with care and precision. I have been getting my shirts cleaned here for a few months, and I have had no problems whatsoever.
Bernie, the owner, is a friendly guy, and genuinely cares about his customers and his product. I am sure that if a problem ever does arise, he will do everything he can to rectify it. I can ask him anything about caring for my clothes, and he always has an answer!
