I have been a customer of the blue dolphin and le fontane but had never tried bacio before. Last night, I went with my family to celebrate my sisters birthdays and we had an excellent meal. The renovations look great and the outdoor patio is awesome… it is spacious and quiet. The food at bacio was also very good. We started off with the zucchini, grilled calamari and the mussels. The sauce the mussels came in was amazing… it came with a white wine sauce. The grilled calamari was also super tasty. The portions on the appetizers were okay, but the dinner portions were much bigger and better. We all loved our meals. I ordered salmon, which comes with spinach and a side of roasted potatoes and veggies. I didn’t want potatoes and asked for extra veggies and the waiter had no problem accommodating my request… I can’t believe I waited this long to try bacio but I definitely plan on going back soon, especially during the summer so I can sit on the patio:)

Food is excellent and service is good. Not the fastest you’ll find but the new construction is a vast improvement. The place is beautiful and you can will always see the owner roaming the floor. I had the Frutti di Mare and while delicious the portion is just too small for the price. Coming from the food business myself this is unfathomable. There is very little pasta — the most inexpensive ingredient in an Italian dish — so I am not getting the logic of shorting the customer on this. I typically do not order an appetizer and I can honestly say I did not leave feeling like a I had anything larger than a lunch portion. Again, delicious. But at best 2 or 3 pieces of shrimp, 4 mussels(again not expensive) and next to nothing on calamari. I will return to Bacio but probably would not order the Frutti di Mare again despite being one of my favorites. My wife had the Fettuccine Bacio and, again, delicious. She thought the portion was adequate but rarely do I see her finish what is on her plate. This owner puts his heart in the place as well as I am sure a ton of money in to the renovation. People all around seemed pretty happy.

Food and décor were fine but, oh, the noise. Surely technology exists that could muffle or absorb some of the overwhelming chatter. I asked the owner about this and he said«they were working on it». It’s a toss up whether we’ll return.

My wife and I loved the old Bacio, the food and service and charm of the building. We tried the renovated Bacio last night, not happy. Sure the restaurant is larger inside, but the place doesn’t have the same vibe. Because of the shape of the ceiling, it’s quite loud, the floors look cheap, and the marble bar top is silly looking. The service is slower, and besides taking forever for two main courses, no appetizers when the place was not packed, the portions were small and OK tasting, no «wow, that was great». We’ll stick to the Blue Dolphin for now on.

I’m a pretty regular«regular» guest. Always very pleased with atmosphere, service and food. But, tonight I had the lamb shank and it’s a real disappointment. The meat is well cooked, but the sauce, which should give the flavor, looked and tasted like it came from a can(water, tasteless and with with no body). C’mon guys, you do super great food, but this was quite poor. Rest of meal(pasta, appetizers, wine) was A+, but please consider removing or changing that entrée, as it’s not worthy of your restaurant. Appreciated the heartfelt thank you when we left(so many restaurants don’t bother with that).

Good food, friendly service. A little bit of confusion on the waitstaff part, frustrated my father, but after a while it was rectified. Small restaurant, so at times it can be challenging to get a table when you want. Food is consistently good.

We stumbled on this little gem of a Trattoria in the late afternoon. I had one of the lunch specials, braised wild boar shank. It was delicious. The flavors of the ingredients came through. I started with the chickpea soup. Everything tasted home made and you can feel the attention and love in the dishes. The bread was fresh and crunchy and goes great with the olive oil. My friend got the mare di sapore salad with grilled calamari and shrimp. It was actually hard to decide what to choose on the menu. They had seafood risotto and homemade spaghetti definitely need to come back a and try other things. They had cannoli rolls fresh and waiting to be filled with the filling.

This is a cozy spot, but our recent visit found us waiting 30 minutes for two entrees on a not very busy night. When I questioned why, they said it takes a while to cook salmon. REALLY!!! They had clearly made a mistake and they should have made an effort to compensate somehow. After our food was finally brought, it was very good, but they did not check again on us… until we were finished eating. I am sorry to say that we won’t be back… a nice spot, but that is just bad service. :(

The best in the area. Owner/manager Antonio always sees to it that only the best is brought to the table. When the patio is open it is irresistible! The grilled squid is to die for. I could eat there every night

When you’re in this neck of the woods(most NYCers truly feel like Northern Westchester is the woods), your best bet for Italian food is either Bacio in Cross River or The Blue Dolphin in Katonah. My family has been going to both for many years and they are both excellent. Bacio has great service, albeit a bit slow(where are you rushing off to?), and delicious food. In the summer months, you can sit outside on their tented patio, which is really lovely. Some of my favorite dishes: ~the *home made crab cakes* — if you’re not super hungry, this and a salad is plenty ~the *caesar salad* — crisp & refreshing, with tons of shaved parmesan ~*fettuccine alla bacio* — no longer on the menu, but they’ll still make it. It comes with shrimp, mushrooms, tomatoes, and spinach. ~*linguine in white clam sauce* — also no longer on the menu, but DEFINITELY worth a try ~*salmone alla siciliana* — my mom’s go-to order. Typically salmon is a boring order, but they prepare it exceptionally well here.

A delicious lunch the day prior at their sister restaurant in Katonah(the Blue Dophlin), led us to Cross River and Bacio for a post-hike late lunch. We’re so happy we made the detour. The owner hails from Capri and the food was simply delicious. Sitting in the covered outdoor garden area, with a lovely breeze and a view of flowers, made us feel like we were in Italy. We enjoyed two specials — the homemade ziti with tomato, mozzarella and eggplant was hands-down one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had — and a simple arugula salad with grilled sardines. We split these dishes and it was a perfect serving for a late lunch. Yolanda was our waitress and she informed us that the penne is called«num num» by the staff. We’ll return again for sure. Note: Sundays is a dinner only menu all day, but as I said, we shared a salad and an entry and it was just perfect. Prices are not cheap, but not crazy expensive either. Totally worth it either way.

Love this place and the warmth of the staff and ambience! Perfect before or after Caramoor. Had the best Caesar salad, amazing Burrata cheese, great broccoli rabe and rigatoni with seafood and a fabulous fresh marinara. Only the mussels tasted a tad off this time, not on a previous occasion. We don’t live close and wish we had a place nearby with this neighborhood feel and friendliness. Can’t wait to taste more. The veal dish that wandered by looked amazing.(And love the sweet poster in the ladies loo. Will remember to take a pic next time.)

We are so lucky to live in a place with a restaurant like this. This is a Gem of a neighborhood restaurant. The owners and the staff all care about what they do and it shows. It’s a loving warm and cozy place. We are NYC foodies and when we come to the country we want to simply have a consistent food experience. We have eaten at Bacio I am guessing 50 times and we have never had a bad meal. Always a nice smile and fast kind service. Often we will call ahead and order for pickup and that’s like living in the city! Nothing but warm praise for this place!

Very nice Italian food; I just never get the feeling that I’m having something stupendous, which ought to be the case given the prices. It gets crowded too, so go early.

We went to Bacio(which means Kiss) on a recommendation from a friend. When I walked in, I immediately recognized one of the guys from La Fontane — a restaurant my family used to frequent years and years ago. Right then, I knew it would be a pleasurable dining experience. The restaurant is small, but we arrived at about 6:20 and there were plenty of seats available. They don’t take reservations, and there is only a small waiting area — so keep that in mind if you plan on going in the winter. The atmosphere is just right — lively but still easy to carry on a conversation. And the walls were covered in what seemed to be a rotating mix of artwork — this time being a series of elegant photographs. The food is a mixture of authentic Italian and standard American-Italian fare. The portions are huge — which offsets the price. It’s actually quite a steal when you realize you can make 2 or 3 meals from one entrée. there is only a $ 1 charge if you want to share an entrée, too — probably a good option for some. I ordered a special appetizer: grilled octopus on arugula. Oh my goodness. It was probably the best grilled octopus I’ve ever had: cooked to perfection, the exact balance of seaford/grilled flavor that you’d want. I was kind of disappointed when my husband didn’t want a taste because I had no one to share the joy with. He ordered the potato leek soup of the day and enjoyed it. For entrees, he ordered the bow tie pasta with prosciutto and zucchini. The portion was huge, and it was swimming in the tasty, cream sauce. It probably could have used less sauce, to be honest. But since it was pasta, he could pick out the pieces and leave most of the sauce on the plate. I ordered from the regular menu as well — pork with hot cherry peppers and garlic. I got 3(!!) loin cuts on my plate and a gigantic tree of broccoli and about a cup of industrial rice. The meat was seasoned wonderfully and the sauce was unusual, spicy and delicious. The broccoli was good, if a little plain. The rice wasn’t that great. Still, I took the leftovers home and enjoyed the meal the next day for lunch. We’re definitely going to go back again.
