Very good pizza in a casual and comfortable atmosphere. Food: Had the Pizza Dora and it very good. Price: Pricey. Service: Very friendly and efficient. Atmosphere: Casual and quiet. But i can imagine this place might get busy at certain times. Drinks: Might serve local wine, but not sure. I might make the trip to eat here again.

Third time here. Amazing every time. Great salad, the best specialty pizzas, thin crust, delicious toppings. Table behind us came in, looked at the menu, cried and said«it didn’t do it for them.» I felt compelled to punch them. 6⁄5 stars.

This is a great upscale pizza place Locally sourced ingredients really come through in the final product. The fig pie is one of my favorites. The meatballs are really good. I like the sausage and mushroom pie as well… great crust. Just a good place to go with family and friends.

First time here, was on way back from North Jersey so I figured I’d hit a spot in Bordentown for dinner. Saw a Unilocal friend had tried it, so I asked about it and was told it was good. Waiter(Chris, I think) was very helpful and friendly, cracked some jokes with us, and was honest about his likes and dislikes. Recommended brushetta and meatballs as apps. We went with the brushetta, even though I was told to get the meatballs by him and a friend, but there’s always next time. Was very fresh and tasty. Asked for a small side of balsamic reduction and got some with no hesitation, great addition. I got the pizza with sausage and mushrooms, even though I really wanted the Salty pie! Again, there’s always next time. The sausage was super flavorful, mushrooms were sliced thin and cooked perfectly, sauce was sweet and delicious. LOVE the thin crispy crust! Cannot wait to go back and sample more pizzas. Had the homemade cheesecake for dessert. Was very good, not best cheesecake I’ve ever had but definitely good if you like cheesecake. From the moment we walked in our experience was great. The smell was intoxicating, the food was fresh and delicious, the girl that sat us was pleasant, waiter was on point and helpful with suggestions and the menu, and it’s a BYOB and the prices were very reasonable. The only knock on the place is that it is very loud. I really don’t care too much about that, but if you’re looking for a quiet evening, this is not the place. The loud environment for me; makes it fun. You realize that everyone around you is enjoying the food and company, however I know not everyone enjoys a boisterous dinner. The more the merrier for me. I plan on returning soon and bringing new friends! Great Job Osteria!

Im back for a 2nd visit. I enjoyed my pizza the last time, now I’m back for another round. Lunchtime. My coworkers and I got here right at 11:30. We beat the lunch rush. The wait for my pizza was not very long, thats good when you are pressed for time on a lunch break! I had the Pizza Dora and added anchovies and extra cheese. Man my pizza was bangin! I also had a glass of Root Beer. There are also salads and sandwiches to choose from. Food is all natural, no preservatives. When ordering pizza, you can order whole wheat or gluten free crusts. I am hooked on the pizza. Next visit I will try another dish.

Full disclosure: I know one of the owners pretty well, I worked with Tino at a business that shall be nameless. He is one of the genuinely nicest people you can hope to meet, and I am so happy to see that his new ventures are thriving. That being said, I took my Elite vows and would never let personal feelings influence a review. This location is in the middle of an old country town, and occupies a very old house that may been an Inn at one time. The décor is very nice, upscale rusticish? And I love the fact that although they are a Byob, they carry a selection of local wines. Most of the pizzas tempted me, but I choose a red clam. My unconscious tomato pie instincts twinged when I ordered it. I even double checked with the waitress as to whether it had mozz on it or not. It did not, she replied, but gave me a chance to customize it. I went with the menu version. If I were to order again I wood ask for light mozz on the bottom to maintain a better level of crispness. But the pizza was tasty, good sauce, fresh clams, and a generous amount of shaved Parmigiana Reggiano on top. The crust was very thin, but with a bit of folding I could eat it without damage. Make no mistake, these are truly personal size, hungry men at dinner time may require more than one. I would like to come back and try other styles, preferably with company so one of the quality and interesting salads could be sampled, along with a dessert that has already infested my brain(cannoli rollatini?) service was quick and friendly at lunch. This location or any other of the spots deserve attention, this is «new school» pie, but done in a way that honors their forefathers. 4 Unilocal

Osteria Procaccini a true hidden gem of Crosswicks. Bringing fresh ingredients with authentic Italian terracotta oven cooking together is a refreshing experience. Osteria takes everyone’s favorite food«pizza» and transforms it into something special. From the appetizers to the desserts the fresh ingredients and creative menu are the true stars.

My husband and I found this place about a year and a half ago. We have never had bad food and love everything. The plates are big enough to share too. We usually share an appetizer and each get a pizza and have leftovers. I love the quality of everything we get. The only thing I wish is that we could make reservations. The dining room is «cozy» and when we tried to show up early once to make sure we got a table we were told they wouldn’t let us get seated without our entire party there.

We have passed by a couple of times but assumed it was a dressy place so we didn’t stop in. My mother informed me they have the best locally grown salads and pizza in the area so we gave it a try. Very modern inside compared to the outside but still very historical feeling. Everything we are was scrumptious and our service was excellent. The pizza crust was super thin and crispy even towards the middle. They even had Dark Side of the Moon and mini cannoli’s for dessert. Definitely worth a try next time you are in the area! We are absolutely coming back again.

To visit Osteria Procaccini in Crosswicks, NJ, is to do more than eat organic Italian food and pizza from a terra cotta oven. It is to step back into American history. Housed in the Crosswicks Inn that had been in operation since the early 18th Century, under various owners, it is quite a sight. It sits in the middle of Crosswicks Village, founded by Quakers and an important stop on the stage line between New York and Philadelphia. The Revolutionary War was fought all around this part of Central Jersey, including the Battle of Monmouth, the turning point of our fight for independence. The Procaccini Brothers did a great job renovating the building with attention to historic detail. Walking in on a hot June afternoon is to experience what it must have been like to do so 200 years ago(except for the AC). For that alone, a stop here is worthwhile. But, don’t forget that this is now a unique Italian restaurant who’s signature dishes are composed of locally sources(sometimes right out of their garden) ingredients that become salads, sandwiches, and most dominantly, hand tossed and terra cotta baked pizzas. The oven was imported from the Old Country, and its ability to hold and radiate heat provided a finished pizza in about 90 seconds. My Tino’s Margherita Pie was personal size, hand stretched with a sweet Tomato Sauce, fresh Mozza and strips of home grown Basil. It was excellent, but would have been even better with another 10 seconds in the oven to harden the center dough to enable it to be picked up by hand without folding. That is just a personal preference and perhaps I should have asked for it to be «well done.» Aside from that nit, it was completely satisfying. While I am normally a Trenton Tomato Pie guy, Procaccini’s is no slouch when it comes to their style pie. Combined with the complete authenticity of Crosswicks and their expensive and astonishing recreation of this venerable tavern, this Osteria becomes a «must see» destination. If you love American history and good pizza(not always thought of at the same time), this is your place.

Maybe, but only maybe Very nice ambiance — very cozy and friendly — that is the highlight of the restaurant. Service is friendly but very unrefined and untrained. Pizza is just average at best. Too many other great pizza options all within 10 – 15 minutes. Salads were very nice and creative. Antipasto is a nice way to start, but it undersized and overpriced. They ran out of their soup of the day and fresh green beans even though we were one of the first tables. Caramelized onions were more thanslucent than any thing else. Seven of us for $ 200 — a bit pricey for what we got. Maybe go back, but only maybe. Should have known when about half of their four and five start reviews don’t have many reviews!!!

We had been to the Osteria Proccacini location on Rt 27 in Kingston a few times before and didn’t realize until about a month and a half back that they had opened up a new location much closer to home(thrilled!). Finally dined here on Labor Day weekend and must say that the pies here taste amazing just like the location in Kingston. The dining area is roomy and they are planning to start serving wine/beer once they procure the license from what we were told. The truffled honey and goat cheese bruschetta is a very well executed appetizer. Very simple but amazingly satisfying and gourmet. The use of truffle oil is subtle but this allows for all the ingredients to shine and come together very well. If you’re a mushroom lover, the z-pie will definitely do justice to your palate. The use of Crimini and Shiitake mushrooms adds a rich earthy flavor characteristic of wild mushrooms to the pie and the sprinkling of truffle oil puts this already amazing pie into overdrive. The evening we dined here, they had a specialty pie to offer with Goat Cheese, Caramelized Red Onions, Sausage and Fresh Mozarella. So we opted to order that and we were so glad that we did. The ingredients came together really well like a happy family. Highly recommend this gem of a place in Crosswicks.

Solid 4.5 gourmet, thin crust, pizza. This place is well off the beaten path. But inside, you’d never notice it with the packed dining room and loud and boisterous atmosphere. The interior is modern rustic and updated, very clean and well maintained. Parking is plenty across the street; however, you might find yourself parking down the adjacent road on a busy Friday or Saturday night. The pizza was amazing! We ordered the Pizza Dora(a red pie with sausage and pepperoni) and the specialty Fig Pizza(a white pie with Gorgonzola, figs, and mozzarella), and both were delicious. If you like Hawaiian pizza, definitely try out the Specialty Fig Pie with fresh figs pulled right from their very own garden. The Pizza Dora appears to be a house staple; it’s everything you’d want from a thin crust sausage and pepperoni. The atmosphere is inviting and the staff sets the standard for welcoming, friendly and attentive. Even with a packed house, our pies didn’t take long to be served and we were taken care of like we were the only ones there. Make sure you come prepared. This place is currently BYOB. I hope to eventually see some local microbrews offered or beer flights as well. Until then, I’ll be picking up a six of Yards Brawler on the way. Highly recommend this place to others. A great spot for date night or a large family gathering.
