I finally went to the allergist my dr referred me to, & I left in tears. My appt was at 3:30, & I got there 20 – 30 mins early for the paperwork. I told the receptionist & nurse several times that if I’m not done by 4:15pm, I’d need to reschedule, because my son had a game. They said it was fine, at least the paperwork would be out of the way. So, 4:15 came, & I said I had to go. The nurse said the dr will be in my room in 2 mins, & to please wait. When 4:30 came, I opened the door to leave, & in walks the dr. I said I’m sorry, I have to go, & I need to reschedule. He said I can’t reschedule. Either I see him now, or not at all. I said ‘but I can’t stay, I waited over an hour & I told the girls ahead of time I’d have to leave by a certain time, & they said it was fine!’ As soon as I said I couldn’t stay, he walked out of my room, & as I’m trying to talk to him, he walks into another room, & closes the door on me. The receptionist apologizes profusely, because I had burst into tears at this point, & I told her he can expect me to file a complaint with as many people as possible. I did NOT deserve to be treated that way, & he did that in front of my 15 month old daughter.

I thought I was over my allergies… Boy, was I wrong! I’d stopped getting shots when I was 18. I’d outgrown them, everything was fine. Okay, so I’d get the occasional flare-up around spring and fall, but nothing that couldn’t be handled OTC, or so I thought. We took our daugther to get tested thinking she might have allergies. She didn’t, but Dr. Blumenthal asked about her history, and that’s when he found out I «used» to have allergies. He said, «Let’s bring Dad in and have him retested. Things change.» They had changed! I’m so much better for it now too!!! The testing procedure is simple, and virtually pain free. Nothing worse than a mosquito bite, and every step of the procedure is thoroughly explained! If they do decide that you need allergy shots, they start you off in increments. You’ll start off getting shots once a week, and then you’ll build up a tolerance. Eventually you’ll go every other week, up to where I’m at now, once every four weeks. They have three locations, and the staff are all exceptional. They are not only professional, but accomodating. Everything you would expect a great doctor’s office to be. And they are great with kids!!! 5 stars might not be high enough!!! They also have two other locations, other than the one in Crown Point. They have a location in Valpo and one in Portage. 2802 Leonard Drive Valparaiso, IN46383 219−531−5855 and 3125 Willowcreek Road Portage, IN46368 219−762−3175
