This is one of those places that you always regret going to, but pop in anyways when you have time. It seems every time I come here the merchandise offered by the vendors gets worse and worse. Although there are some gems hidden in this massive complex, you tend to have to dig through mountains of worthless(early 2000’s plastic) crap to get to it. Although the name contains the word«antique», I assume that was just because they couldn’t find a sign that said«3 story flea market». Overall, I guess this place is a lot like a venus fly trap… strange and alluring on the outside, but a death trap once inside… unless you consider a tightly packed hoarder den OSHA friendly.

Unique antique store, we’ve for the most part enjoyed each visit looking through the unique items. Three floors of items to look through(third floor under renovation when we made our last visit). That being said, the employees leave something to be desired. We’ve been going to this antique store for over 2 and a half years, but my experience with the employees has mostly been negative, even our most recent visit with a new employee was negative, she was extremely unfriendly and seemed bothered I interrupted in the employee gossip session. It seems the employees are«bothered» when you ask for help. They seem too busy gossiping in the front when you interrupt their gossip sessions. My recommendation would be if they do not want to assist customers with viewing items in locked cases, not coming in or volunteering. I would also recommend not«rushing customers» out when you have 10 minutes to closing. This is the first antique store I’ve been to where they«rush» you out. If you don’t mind poor customer service but the enjoyment of looking through many unique items, I would recommend this antique store.

Three floors of fun antiques, collectibles and junk. A surprising number of paintings and prints, collectible glass, midcentury serving pieces and glassware, games. Not much furniture, brusque staff. Lots of options for antique shopping on the town square.

The name of this place is slightly deceiving, as many of the items for sale are not antiques. There are hundreds of booths that vendors rent to sell their items, so it is kind of like a giant garage sale or flea market. The place has some good stuff at really great prices. I saw a fair amount of turquoise Pyrex priced around $ 10 per piece, which is a really good deal. I didn’t end up buying anything but it was fun to walk around and look. It was a great way to spend a couple of hours on a cold day.

Expect to spend HOURS in here! There is so much stuff to look at. 3 whole floors! When looking at it from the outside, you wouldn’t expect there to be this much room. Different vendors rent spaces and FILL them with antiques and other vintage items. There is an entire room full of Christmas stuff! You will be amazed and probably overwhelmed when you first come here, so make this your first stop when you’re antiquing on the square.

I don’t know if I could spend a whole day in this place, but it’s probably because I frequent it too much. I go about once a month in the wintertime. There are good dealers and not-so-good dealers here. You do have to know something about antiques(especially collectables). Some of the people price things fairly high, but I always seem to make out here once in a while. Also, check out«Now and Then» at the other end of the block. Their stuff is pricey, but not out of the ballpark, AND absolutely NONE of it is junk.

I’ve been here a few times but for whatever reason never traveled all the way up. That was a mistake as there’s SO much more tucked away up there. I can’t really even begin to describe all the things you’ll find here but I can say that I always find additions for my tea cup, depression glass, vinyl, and tacky jewelry collections. I’m especially proud of the green depression glass syrup dispenser I found. Ten dollars?! Done and done! I do wish some of the booth renters would take more care in the placement of their goods as some of it looks like it’ll topple over if you stare at it too long. I have no doubt employees will look to whoever was standing nearest to foot the bill. Based on reading previous reviews, it seems they may have changed the way they ring you up. If you find stuff on one of the upper floors, they bag it, write a ticket, then staple it for you to carry down to the first floor. It’s not really a hassle unless you want your hands free to paw all the goods on the first floor.

Great place to shop for antiques. You definitely can get lost for half a day here. The place is three levels and jammed packed with all sorts of items. Definitely a must stop for anyone with a passion for antique shopping.

This place is a hot mess, but good mess. It’s part Antique store and part Redneck yard sale. The place is huge. If you are seriously browsing it will take you a couple of hours to go through this three floored monstrosity of thrift. My shopping counterparts had a lot more luck than I did in the rare find department, but I did find a vintage 50’s, Cigar Ash tray that I have been looking for. It’s a welcome addition to my Cigar smoking deck. If you are into Antiquing and Yard sales, you will love this place. It was fun to browse my way through the bargains, Antiques and plain old junk. You never know what you will find in a place like this. Like a lot of things in life, it’s the pursuit of what you’re looking for that’s the most pleasurable.

This place is insane, huge and full of serious eye candy that can keep you occupied for hours. The only problem is that it is three floors and you cannot bring items from one floor to another. However. Talk about awesome finds! Set of 81950’s style drinking glasses for $ 15 in the original box? A book I had been looking for 15 years to find for $ 4.50? A friggin blue iris mink stole for $ 80? yes, yes and yes thank you. And my friends all scored big, not just me! Debby found a houndstooth jacket that looked like it was made for her — $ 10(ok it technically wasnt really old, but it was still a great jacket). Mary found a cute as a button vintage purse and hat — both $ 10 and Andy found a huge 1950’s style ashtray for $ 20. Definitely a great place. And a great reason to come back and visit Crown Point again!

You could spend all day looking at the stuff here… and I almost did. A lot of the stuff are antique but some things didn’t seem that old to me… oh well. I still get a kick out of seeing things from the past, it brings back memories. I really like this place so ya’ll come and visit now!!!

I agree with the other reviewers on this place being cool and having a little bit of something for everyone, but their prices are NOT that great. That is one problem with antique shops that are relatively close(within 50 miles or so) to Chicago is that they feel they can get more for things than they are truly worth. They count on people coming from up north who are willing to pay more. No offense to anyone from up north or any Indiana transplants living up there now. I can usually find the same swag and«relatively» antique type stuff I am looking for further down south for a more reasonable price. I do, however, still like to pop in there from time to time and see what’s new. Just be careful when you go to some of these places out here. I won’t mention names because to be honest I’ve been to so many out here that I truly forget which one it was now or I would, but I saw what was being advertised as a mint condition original Radio Flyer Tricycle and they had a rediculously high price on it. Well when I got a look at it I noticed they had forgot to take the label off with the manufacturers name and e-mail address(to my knowledge, Al Gore didn’t invent the internet until the 80’s I think?). Besides the fact that it was obviously a new tricycle with new parts. That was blatent, but what scares me is that if some people are willing to do that then what else would they do on less obvious stuff to a person who doesn’t know what they are looking at? That was just one dealer though, and if you know what you are doing for you’ll be o.k. Ooh, ooh, I just remembered the place it was while typing this… no it was not this place! It was The Antique Market in Michigan City. And on that note, on to my next review! If you go read it forgive the cut and pasted part!

Holy crap! How had I not been here before?(Oh yeah, it’s in Crown Point, Indiana.) Three giant stories, tons of booths and loads of reasonably priced vintage stuff. Granted, a lot of the the stuff there was a little too«country» or «shabby-chic» for my tastes, but there was just as much kitschy stuff. Bozo the Clown dolls, Jimmy Carter peanut-shaped transistor radios, big-eyed Keane prints, vintage holiday decorations, gorgeous costume jewelry, you name it. A few booths were needlessly expensive, but I was ecstatic to buy a set of eight vintage ‘60s-‘70s-era Colony– or Libbey-style juice and cocktail glasses with a mod sliced fruit pattern for only $ 8. It’s on the southeast corner of the square across from the old court house, so there’s a handful of other interesting shops, antique and otherwise, nearby. We were there too late in the afternoon to explore the area further, but I hope to return soon.

Large antique mall on the downtown square in Crown Point overlooking the courthouse. Something for everyone. You can spend hours browsing through all of the stuff. 3 floors and about 100 different dealers. For those not familiar with Crown Point it has an really cool old courthouse with a charming downtown square with shops. Lots of little shops and places to eat and drink. About 45 minutes from downtown Chicago.
