This is the go to restaurant for me and my wife. If we ever get discouraged with local BLEH restaurants, or want to be sure of a great meal and experience, we come here. NEVER had a bad experience, I had to send a dish back once because a little overcooked, but waiter gave us no hassles. Great lamb shank, veal marsala, pastas, and appetizers are never disappointing either. The parking lot is small, but there is plenty of street parking within a block or two if it is full. The lower level can be pretty loud during the weekends, and some other evenings, but overall it doesn’t hamper anything. Prices are on the high side(as far as the region goes), but overall pretty fair. Get out with an appetizer, two drinks, two entrees, and dessert for under a $ 100

Don’t come here if you’re hungry or thirsty. When twenty minutes had passed with no water or waiter, we asked the hostess twice for some assistance. After pretending to look into the matter she proceeded to make excuses that they only had two waiters working. We will never be back as it appears to be poorly managed and understaffed.

Went for a ladies lunch and wish it was a better experience. The food was decent enough, but service was not good. Waited too long for everything and waiter made us feel that anything we asked for was an annoyance, even water. Ambiance is very charming. Maybe we will try again, but not anytime soon.

Mediocre Italian food at best. Osso Bucco fair. Lasagne gave impression of being mass produced. Waiter seemed disappointed we didn’t order alcohol and didn’t pay much attention to us after that. Nothing sets this place apart except the building it’s in. Won’t be back.

This was our first time there with another couple, and it will be our last. The host, if you want to call him that, was impersonal and offered no welcome greeting. Six other parties walked in while we waited for our table and received the same – no greeting. Just asked how many in the party. We found the environment to be lacking of warmth, comfort and cleanliness. Terribly noisy. Hard to have a conversation without having to yell across the table. Small tables and chairs set close to each other. I was back-to-back with a small child in a high hair. Cheap paper napkins as well as flatware. Now let’s talk service – HORRIBLE! The server came and said he would let us settle in and look at the menu and then was off. This was after we were seated for 10 minutes. No offer for a beverage and was so quick to leave we didn’t have a chance to ask for one. 15 minutes later he came back. We ordered drinks and our meal. Another 10 minutes later he brought our salads and still no drink. I had to flag him down to ask about the drinks. His response was«oh yeah». In the meantime we asked for water from the bus girl. When our meal came he did not ask if we needed a refill of our drinks. Just dropped the meal and attempted a getaway. I wasn’t going to let that happen and asked for another round of drinks. Food was okay at best. The tomatoes in the caprese salad should have been tossed in last weeks garbage. My husband’s fish was supposed to be seared. We think they forgot that step. The portions were big, but that doesn’t really help if the food is not good. We did bring leftovers home for a treat for the dog. Not sure how it’s gotten awards for a great place to go. Guess those voters have low expectations. I wouldn’t even give it one star, but I have to make a selection.

Fantastic! We got the special salad(spinach, pine nuts, capicola, and goat cheese dressing), special pasta(cavatapi with grilled chicken, mushrooms, and cheddar cream sauce), and the banana pepper stuffed with sausage and goat cheese. Everything was excellently presented and delicious. The banana pepper was spicier than we remembered but it was mouthwatering right until the burn kicked in. The building is gorgeous and the food is delightful, if just a tad overpriced. Highly recommended.

Love the ambiance in this historic house made restaurant. I do not usually eat pasta but a friend wanted to try this place. The server told me the sechetti was his favorite, I said I will have that. And now I go back once a month for it. Last time I went we had mussels as an app. I haven’t made a bad menu choice while dining here!

I was surprise with the food, it was pretty good, and a reason I would stop in this town if driving through. Great looking place, a converted house. There is limited parking but not a big deal for me.

We went here last night as a party of 13. We were greeted and seated promptly and the décor was nice but we must have had the waiter that was discussed in earlier reviews because we really weren’t that impressed with his service and he was«dry» and«snotty». He lacked any kind of sense of humor and really didn’t interact very well with the table. When it came time to order our appetizers… we told him our half has agreed to three appetizers for our half of the table and before we could check to see if the other half of the party wanted to order an appetizers… he walked off. We thought…“oh he will just get their appetizer order when he comes back”…nope…next time we saw him was when he wanted to take our dinner order. Before he went to take our order, we started to ask him questions about the menu. «What is a sacchetti?» «It is a purse like delicate pasta» «Oh so it is like a ravioli?» «(Rolls his eyes)…No…it is a pasta… like a purse… and it is delicate» I guess the lesson to be learned here is that if the stupid customer can’t figure it out the first time… repeat the same exact answer again… then they will stop asking their dumb questions. That interaction was pretty much how the entire dinner went… he acted like he was doing us a favor by taking our order and getting us stuff. When the food came out… my daughters ordered FETTUCCINI Alfredo… they were brought cavatappi pasta. The waiter said«it’s all the same». Um… when you are charging me $ 20 for it… no…it isn’t. When I pay that price for noodles and sauce… I expect exactly what I ordered. Another issue was my sister in law’s dish came out of the kitchen 10 minutes after everyone else’s. When it came time for the bill he was«Johnny on the spot» and made sure we got that and paid in a hurry… but when it came time for a drink refill earlier in the meal… he was nowhere to be found. He did however remember to put the 20% gratuity on our $ 300+ bill. He must have known his snide remarks and disappearing act didn’t earn him a very large tip. The food was good and I would come back if someone else is serving us… but not him.

Lasagna — Excellent(with a top layer of ground sausage!); Bartender — A professional that makes cocktails with skill and perfection; Stuffed Eggplant — Very unique and delicious. And the staff is great. Lucrezia is my only choice when travelling in the area. The food is always amazing and it reminds me of good home cooked italian food. It helps a traveller who likes to cook not be as home sick!

One word. Lasagna. 5 stars. Eat it. Nice décor in old house. Great service and nice appetizers as well. 5 of us all ordered different dishes and they were all great… my lasagna was the best though.

This place has always been a top choice for those in the region seeking out a delicious meal at a price that really isn’t that bad for what you get. The quality is simply amazing no matter what you get. We started with the crab cakes and roasted garlic. The roasted garlic literally spreads like butter, while the crab cakes sit above a lemon-dill cream concoction that will leave you speechless. We also ordered a chicken and tomato cream soup that was quite good, but had inedible parts to it due to non-removal of some vegetable casings. I got the lamb shank which could feed a small family and make each and every one of them super happy, and the saccheti… if you have to ask you should just go and have it, because it is AWESOME. When you finish, don’t be a fool by not getting the crème brûlée. It is honestly some of the best we’ve ever had. It needs a bit more sugar crusting on the top, but the cream was perfect. Great place with a lovely outdoor seating area and amazing food.

I really like this establishment! The food is always consistent and it beats(by far) the usual chain restaurants in Crown Point. My husband and I also had the rehearsal dinner for our wedding there. It was a little pricey, but very intimate. I loved it!

I decided on this restaurant for my birthday with my friends and family. It has been terrific since then. I love the fresh bread especially with the eggplant or roasted garlic. The pasta is always great and the portions are a good size, enough for dinner the next day. The drink menu seems well thought out and the specials are good as well. I love the atmosphere of the old house.

We went here last Sunday(5⁄18), hoping for a nice lunch. We arrived a little before 1pm and were seated very promptly. Unfortunately our experience went downhill from there. The waiter came by to take our drink order and then just basically disappeared. It took him at least 30 minutes before he came back to take our order. Then another 20 – 30 minutes pass by before our food arrives. No offer to refill our drinks or even give us some more bread while we waited almost an hour to be served. Another party of 6 came in a few minutes after us and received their food first! The 2 lady waitresses seemed a lot more attentive and their tables seemed to be enjoying themselves. As for the food, it was mediocre at best. My husband ordered the strip steak special and it came out way overdone. Definitely not worth the $ 28 they charged. Even the fettuccine with wild boar ragu I ordered was overcooked. I don’t know how an Italian restaurant doesn’t know how to make pasta al dente! For $ 18, I could have boiled up some noodles and opened a jar of Ragu, and it would have been better. We finally gave up and flagged one of the waitresses(since our waiter was still no where to be found) and asked for the check. As we walked out, we finally saw him. He was sitting by the bar playing with his cellphone! HORRIBLESERVICE! Mediocre food. The restaurant is in a great area, but that waiter needs to go!
