Fun trails, great playground, and beautiful military memorial. Excellent place for the family to enjoy together.

Stoney Run is a beautiful little place to hike and explore. We stopped by while my sweetheart and I were on our way to Tippecanoe River State Park for some camping and canoeing. This was a fun little excursion to break up the drive and to get a head start on getting some mud on our boots. The hiking and equine trails are very well kept and the equine trails are relatively cleat of droppings. The ones you do see are easy to avoid because the horse trails are much wider than hiking trails. The hiking trails we went on were not particularly ‘rugged’ but I’d still suggest caution when hiking as there are lots of little ups and downs along the hiking trails(equine trails are flat, level and grass covered). Make sure to explore the Veterans Memorial area too; the small flower gardens are quite lovely. There is also a small pond and picnic area by the main parking lot where you can watch ducks while you sit and relax.

My boys and I come here often. My boys love the size of the playground as it gives them plenty of room to run around. We also use the hiking trails to go «explore» and search for«wild life». They have a nice size pond to walk around and explore as well. The park also has a horse trail, plenty of benches, and cooking grills to use if you desire. In the winter months, you can also rent ski’s. There has been times we have been charged 5 dollars to enter the park, which is no big deal as often as we go. I believe they only do that during summer months and only on certain days and times. Lastly, I’ve also come alone in the early morning to run on the trails which has also been great.
