What I enjoy the most about Indiana is it’s wild spaces. Chicago is big and beautiful and fun, and I enjoy every inch of it. There are however few opportunities to experience nature in an unsculpted, unplanned way. This is one of those out in the middle of nowhere places, the kind of place that doesn’t show up on a map. It’s a beautiful marsh so far from the city that coming here feels like an escape and at the same time a homecoming.
