We moved to Crozet because of WAHS. Great education program, great teachers, great athletics. I do wish the athletic programs ask for parent help; because they need it(I’ve asked). According to my kid, not too clicky as compared to other HS’s, but there is a social-economical divide at times. Not that is causes any problems that I can note. School spirit is pretty amazing for all areas(academics and athletics).

As a student finishing up my senior year at Western I have to say I look back at my experience with mixed emotions. Academically this school is a great school. Most of the teachers are willing to help you and during lunch there is a time called CARE. CARE is when students can meet with their teachers in a group or one on one and get help with a subject or re-take test and quizzes. When it comes to the administration I don’t know what to say. The administration isn’t willing to help the students when they need help with a problem such as bullying. They act like they’re doing everything they can to prevent bullying but when a child is actually have a problem with being bullied the school could care less. As for student interaction it’s like any other high school. Western is very cliquey. If you’re not rich you don’t really fit in even thought a majority of the student population isn’t rich. There is a problem with bullying at Western along with any other school. Academically, Western is great but outside if academics Western isn’t a great school.
