Dr Bang on floor two is the worst Doctor you’ll ever encounter and so is her staff. Rudest people on earth. And Dr Bang rather milk insurance then treat a patient. It’s disgusting

Had a terrible experience there yesterday with Dr. Braun. My one year daughter had been sick last week and was also put on antibiotics over weekend for ear infection. On Monday she was not doing well and had a high fever. I could not get in to regular doctor so we(my daughter’s grandmother and I) gave her some Ibuprofen to bring down fever and took her to immediate care. When the Doctor walked in the ibuprofen had taken effect and my daughter was looking better and feeling better but we still wanted to find out what was causing her illness. Dr. Braun then walked in without picking up a tool or touching her and said«she looks great to me so what is it that you want from me?» We explained how the ibuprofen was working and that she was not like this an hour ago. The doctor then became very condescending and started arguing with my mother about her tone and facial expressions. The doctor then brought in the head nurse(who was amazing) and she pretty much had to calm the situation down and help me figure out what was wrong with my baby. They checked my baby for the flu since I said her father had it and the it turned out she did indeed have the flu. It was already not easy seeing your baby not feeling well then to have a doctor act like that made it a into a nightmare.

There when you need them! I had been helping with decorating at a relative’s home in California two days before. A stack of four really heavy(like 50 pounds each) sliding closet doors had been stacked on edge during the process of decorating. A cat leaped towards a paint tray making me rush forward and blunder against the heavy stack of closet doors. The whole stack toppled over onto me, knocking me over and hurting my lower leg like crazy. The family were able to separate me and the doors after a few minutes, and after a little while I could walk again without undue pain. The next day I flew back to Chicago as scheduled. In the evening after I returned to McHenry I realized that a) my leg still hurt, and b) that my whole lower leg and ankle was progressively turning purple and blue, spreading down into my foot. I was pretty scared and my husband took me in to the Advocate Good Shepherd out patient center, which was still open at 7 in the evening. I was seen by a nurse in less than three minutes, while my husband filled out all the insurance forms. Then in succession I saw a doctor and a radiologist who took an X ray of my lower leg. It turned out that the impact of the closet doors had ruptured a blood vessel in my leg, with the result that there was a lot of blood inside. The doctor advised me that the rupture would heal itself after a day or two, and that the accumulated blood would fall downwards so that my whole foot down to the toes was going to turn crimson, purple and blue.(Which it did!) They provided some bandages to prevent swelling, and let me go with the reassurance that all would be well in the end — which it was! Thank you Advocate Good Shepherd — I recommend this place to everyone I know!

Rudest receptionist I’ve ever encountered. Looked me up and down and then told me it’ll be an hour and do I really want to wait that long. The kicker was that she took a call and registered another patient who wasn’t even in the waiting room. Marcia S. really needs to learn to take patients on a first come first serve basis. I skipped the ER to come here bc it wasn’t an EMERGENCY but darn it a possible broken toe is still irritating. Even more irritating is being unkindly welcome. Pfft should have gone to the ER.

Had a TERRIBLE experience here last night. It had suddenly gotten busy and they clearly were not up for it. I heard one lady behind the desk ask for someone to come up to help, then someone said«Do they all seem necessary?» A fellow sufferer in the waiting area said to her son«That’s an odd thing to say especially when we can hear». Shortly after a nurse came out to start triaging like she was a field medic. She started with a frightened little girl who had possibly swallowed a coin. They were told it would pass in a couple days, nothing to do. She then moved on to me and my 4 day, 103.6 fever. She started with«We don’t do blood work here» «Do I need blood work?», I asked confused. «Well is that what you want?» «I want relief», I replied. She pointed to the glass of water my dad had gotten me and said«Well you’re drinking so you’re not dehydrated»(I was) «I mean, we could do a chest x-ray, but you look too good to have pneumonia»(I do. Must be the pretty version) She basically told me it was probably a virus and I just needed to wait it out. Luckily we went next door to Centegra where they were very kind and concerned and not questioning my motive for seeking assistance. And that little girl? Luckily she went there too. She ended up being transported by ambulance. Very very upsetting, Advocate.

Had a great experience there this evening on a busy Friday after work. Dr. Horvath was kind, professional, warm and explained everything so well and answered questions without making me feel rushed. The nurses were equally kind and helpful, making me feel like I was at my regular doctors office. I will return if ever needed and will recommend highly.

Brought my son in after two weeks of him having a very bad cough. They would not prescribe anything. Ended up in the emergency room two days latter with a sinus infection and bronchitis. If they would of treated him properly it would alleviated a lot of pain and cost.

As any parent knows, kids can get sick or hurt at any time, even late at night and on weekends. This Immediate Care is the best in the area for those I-missed-the-doctor-but-don’t-need-the-ER kind of visits. Our first time at this Immediate Care office was several years ago when my son tripped and fell on a sharp rock at a park in Algonquin. I remembered driving past this place a week earlier and told the hubby to go here instead of Sherman Immediate Care. Since that day, this is our Immediate Care go to place(if they are open… they are open 365 days a year but they are not a 24 hour facility). Good Shepherd Immediate Care is CLEAN and quick and the staff is really nice and have a great bedside manner. Last summer, my son fell asleep on the couch and the dog used his face to jump to the back of the couch to bark at another dog walking by the house. My son needed stitches, and fast. He had two nasty cuts… one on his lip and one on the inside of his lip. I took him to GS Immediate Care and he was stitched up by the friendliest doctor, who put my little guy at ease the entire time. Fast forward many, many months… one Sunday morning in January, my son woke up with a horrible sore throat and fever. Off to GS Immediate Care we went. We were in the room quickly and he was tested for strep… the doctor came in to look at his throat and it was the same wonderful doctor who stitched him up several months before. She remembered my son and praised him for being such a good boy so many months previous. If you need medical attention and your doctor isn’t in and you don’t want to sit in a germy ER waiting room, I suggest going to Good Shepherd Immediate Care.
