Who forgets to put the cheddar on a beef and cheddar?! These guys.

I was soon looking forward to the Reuben here! They do a good job on it! The problem was that the restaurant was so cold we could hardly sit long enough to last through the meal! We were told that corporate controls the temperature so we would have to call them. We gave up after more than 10 minutes on hold. We won’t be back… Too bad because we really like the sandwich!

Angus Beef, thick cut pepper bacon, Swiss cheese, Cheddar cheese, and Parmesan peppercorn ranch dressing on an Italian-style roll. Mmm. Surprisingly good. Beef that tasted like real beef(’cause it is), pepper that tastes like pepper(rather than tasteless black specks), lots of gooey cheese, even the bun was good. Served in a box so it’s not smooshed down like their other sandwiches can sometimes be, it looked like the fresh deli-style sandwich you see in the ads. I’ve always liked their curly fries and they were, as expected, good. And fresh. Quick, smiling service. Even the customers are small-town friendly. Update: Tried the Smoky Chipotle Chicken sandwich. Dee-lish. Chicken was moist, tender and tasted like … chicken, with a very crispy coating. Tasty cheese, average sesame seed bun, tomato slices. Nice amount of leaf lettuce, which was either artfully and thoughtfully arranged, or I got lucky. The combination of smoky chipotle peppers and smoky bacon makes this sandwich anything but bland. Not sure if there’s sauce, mayo or whatever, but there’s so much flavor going on I either didn’t notice it, or it wasn’t missed. A+ on this sandwich. Update: Roasted Turkey Ranch Deli sandwich. Almost exactly the way I would make it at home, except I’d toast the bread. That’s it, that’s the only change I’d make. Moist turkey(though bland, as turkey is wont to be), the«ranch» part of the dressing wasn’t «ranch-ee» enough, the bacon not quite«bacon-ee» enough. I’d get tastier ingredients for home, but it was still tasty. The bread was perfect(but not toasted), slightly thick slices of a hearty bread. Plus lettuce and tomato(did it have pickles? Funny, I can’t recall). A solid«B.» Update: Ham & Swiss Deli sandwich. So-o-o-o close to what I’d make at home. As previously noted, I’d toast the thick and hearty slices of bread. Needed about a third more ham, and a third less sauce. But tasted very good, a «C+.» Update: Smokehouse Brisket. WHOA — Home run. Incredible smoked brisket, smoked gouda, fried onions(they don’t call them fried, they’re «Crispy!»), mayo ANDBBQ sauce, on a really good bun. This is not a fast food sandwich(none of Arby’s deli-style sandwiches are fast food style, but this one is the tops so far). The taste! Oh … [slobber] Find something to criticize? Umm, if this were served at a barbeque restaurant(it would cost more and) they would pile more meat on there, but I suspect Arby’s chefs have determined the absolute best ratio of meat/sauces/cheese and bun ’cause this was near perfect.
