Sophia, the other night when my friends and I came in you gave us the absolute worst service any of us have ever got. I don’t expect much when i come in during the midnight hours at IHOP but you were rude and inefficient while you were serving us. I expect a complete attitude change from this server before i ever come in again or find another job where your personality will suit you better, like a call center.

I’ve been to this location a few times now. Honestly, I am not sure if we have bad luck or what! Every time we have been here our service has been super slow. I am the type that never complains, asks for substitutions or tries to be a pain… I love IHOP but it makes me sad that the one near our home is just below par. The servers we have had are not attentive and do not check regularly. We wait at least 20−25mins for our food, each time. They haven’t come back to check if we needed anything else, only when we were half way done with our meal. I don’t know what’s going on in the kitchen or what. It would be nice if the servers could keep our drinks filled while waiting. Never had an issue with the food. Just waiting time and servers. Be proactive. Will I come back? Probably… But I already know I’m not going to enjoy it and it will be a wait. It’s more stressful than anything. On the other hand, the shift supervisor seems very nice & attentive. I wish she took care of us instead. They need to train their staff a little better.

Solid breakfast for a good price. This was an IHOP years ago and the owner tried to make it independent. After some time he went back to IHOP and nothing lost. We had a great waitress, prompt service, and the food was very good. My only star reduction was the sausage link were a bit cool — like they had been sitting for some time. On the positive side my son loved the chocolate chip pancakes(adult menu) and he raved about the taste. It isn’t too often he thinks someone else beats my cooking but I could tell these pancakes won that match.

What a change since the reopening! The energy here is bright and new, and the service has improved by leaps and bounds. I came with my son at 8am on a Saturday. There were plenty of open tables and we were seated immediately. The hostess, Kaitlyn, was welcoming and had a wonderful smile. Our server, Irene, was just as friendly. She was attentive throughout the meal and checked in just the right amount. When she had a break, she politely introduced us to Candy, who would be checking in on us. The quality of the food was high for a chain restaurant. It’s costs more here than Denny’s, but the presentation and freshness make up for the added cost. The omelettes are $ 8+, but they’re huge and good for sharing or boxing for later. Even my son’s Rooty Jr. was served hot and fresh. Cool things to note if you’ve never been here : * Open 24 hours * Flavored syrups on the table * Bottomless coffee jug at the table We did wait longer than expected for the food(based on the fact that there were only 10 – 12 tables seated) but not so much that it will prevent me from coming back. If you haven’t been here since the reopen… Give it a shot because a lot has changed, and for the better!

What a horrible mistake we have made today! We decided to try something different and go to ihop. We waited forever in a freezing cold lobby only to be seated at a table with not enough silverware. We waited 11 minutes for someone to come to our table. We have now been here for 1 hour and 4 mins and our drinks are empty and still no food! This place should be closed for lack of ability to run a restaurant!!! What a miserable experience! First and last time! I had to give it one star to get this to post but it does not deserve one star!

Terrible service. Waited an hour after I placed my order and still nothing. This was my second time coming here, the first time I placed an order for pick up and the food tasted plain compared to most ihops. Worst service and food would never recommend this IHOP to anyone!

Went to IOP for breakfast on a Saturday morning. This place was busy and tables filled up with hungry breakfast goers quickly. Got seated quickly and hot coffee was delivered. Each table had its own pot so wait staff did not have to refill often. Problem was the pot delivered to us was only good for about 3 cups. For two people not enough for a second cup but was quickly refilled. Ordered chicken fried steak which came with eggs, hash brown potato and pancakes. Chicken fried steak was covered with gravy. chicken fried steak need seasoning and was hard to chew. Potato was chewy. The eggs were fine for over hard. Pancakes were fluffy and good with the hot maple syrup which wait staff brought out with the pancakes. Overall, average breakfast nothing special. IOP is fine for a quick breakfast and you would be full when you walk out.

The only reason I even gave one star is because this problem wasn’t the waitresses fault. They closed down this same location once before & after the experience I had on Friday, it shouldn’t take long before they close AGAIN. Changing the décor & hiring new staff doesn’t mean a thing when you have managers who can’t lead. My experience on Friday, August 22 was the WORST ever!!! Our waitress Rebecca was polite & friendly sort of in a scriptive, robotic IHOP way. We knew immediately she was still in training because she hesitated & repeated everything we said back to us almost as if she wanted us to change our minds. BUT at least she was listening :). My husband & I both ordered a garden omelet & a side order of pancakes. After 45 agonizing minutes waiting & being terrorized by the screaming table behind us, our food arrives. She places a plate down with what was supposed to be an omelet. Instead we received a blob of something swimming in brown juice. In fact this«thing» was dripping juice all over our table… GROSSE. Not to mention we both asked for no onion, yep there was onions. Immediately I asked to speak to a manager. I wanted to know what in the world would make anyone think a patron would eat this slop. Along with this slop came burned English muffins, dried up over easy eggs that my daughter ordered and no pancakes. My waitress comes back to tell me there was a problem with the order ticket & they will make up new pancakes. NOWHEREISTHEBESTPART… Rebecca tells me the manager said she is TOOBUSY to come to our table & the mgr says to tell us all the brown juice from the omelet is from the mushrooms & tomatoes… ewwwwww!!!if you saw the pic in the menu of this omelet, you would have been horrified too. In my many years of customer service I have never been told OR told anyone“I’m too busy” to take care of a customer service issue… OMG who does this!!! My entire experience was a disaster & your too busy to fix it, a paying customer. 15 minutes later new omelets come out prepared with ½ the ingredients missing. The mgr managed to eliminate the juicy mess by taking out the tomatoes & mushrooms, thanks for taking that upon yourself to decide that’s what we would want(idiot). Yummm another dried up egg white sandwich with spinach & cheese, how original. I felt so «honored«to have this order delivered by the same person who moments earlier was too busy to talk to me. She sets the food down & says… enjoy. Wwwwaiiiitttt a minute lady, do you really think I’m not going to ask if your the one who so rudely ignored my request to speak to you. Just as I imagined she became defensive & did the ultimate LOWCLASS managerial NONO& threw her waitress under the bus. She proceeds to say«Rebecca shouldn’t have told you I said I was too busy». This lady truly was a piece a work. She went on & on to try & justify why she didn’t come to our table. In the end she said«I feel obligated so I will take care of the check». She was so insincere & every word out of her mouth was condescending. I would have rather she said nothing. After all actions speak louder than words. I didn’t want a free meal. I wanted to enjoy a nice, family breakfast & I was willing to pay for it. We left IHOP& went to Panera because that so called«free» meal was worthless. You can expect to have this same type of experience. When your leaders can’t lead then what kind of service could you possibly expect from your employees? Absolutely disgusting place all around!!!

Plain and simple, this place sucks. I’ve given it a shot 3 times, and been served the worst meals each time. The food comes out on disgusting plates not to mention looking like a pile of grey goo. The staff is massively undertrained, as well. I wish I could rate it at zero stars. I want my money back.

IHOP reopening in Crystal Lake! Here for soft opening and the restaurant looks great! Staff are very polite. Even though it’s a training day, they are doing a great job!

IHOP in Crystal Lake is no more! Over night it closed down and opened as the Forester. Not sure why… no more lingonberries Joy S. :(

I love Ihop in general, because I’m addicted to lingonberries. First thing I notice as we were being seated, was an older waitress joking around with a group of customers that would stereotypically not be treated well. I was impressed! We had a different waitress who was just as fantastic! When my Swedish Crepes came out with just a tiny eensy bit of lingonberry butter and maybe 6 actual lingonberries, our waitress pointed out the skimpiness of the kitchen before she even set the plate down — she went back to the kitchen and brought me out the lingonberries and butter that should’ve been on my crepes to begin with. YAYYY!!! If it wasn’t an hour and a half away, this would be my fav Ihop! They also gave us coupons for discounts upon return, but alas, too far.

We were in the area and we were just looking for something quick and familiar. I think that this place can seat a s many people as all of the IHOPs in the City limits of Chicago can combined! I have been to some big IHOPs before but this place massive! The place was also packed. The food was typical IHOP breakfast fare. It was what I expected and it was served hot in a timely manner. What more could I ask for? Our server was really friendly and on top of her game. The entire staff did a great job of keeping the flow of people moving and it seemed like they were all on top of their game,. A tip of my hat to the staff and management here.

So… I’ve eaten here many more times since my last review and it’s past due for an update I think. Probably the best way to experience this place is to go in the morning(duh, right?). Seems like that is when they have the«A» team working. Pretty much you order your food and(if it’s not too terribly busy) it comes magically out of the kitchen in less than ten minutes. Fast is good! I think this place is «great» for kids(they love all the different types of syrups) but I don’t not as great for groups since things slow down the busier it gets in there.

We went here on a Sunday around 11am. Contrary to other reviews, my service here was exceptional, not sure if the other reviewer who ALWAYS has bad service here was rude or something, but we didnt have a problem. Orders: Steak Omlet, quick 2×2×2 breakfast, BLT, apetizer sampler. 1. Steak Omlet — I was told it was really good, would order again. 2. 2×2×2 Breakfast — Good. 3. BLT — Good. 4. Apetizer Sampler — Great. All the food was hot, service was good, but only 4 stars because we never got a re-fill on the water.

Well, its an IHOP. However, some of the meals are a ton of food for a small price. The omlettes are huge. The kids would eat here everyday if we would allow it. The service is slow sometimes. The wait staff seems to gossip in the kitchen a lot. Either they forget that people can hear them, or they just don’t care. Overall, its still just IHOP. There is tons to pick from, just don’t except too much.
