My son bowls in a junior league here in the winter. He has a great time and learned how to keep score. Awesome Place! Love it here.

Brought my family here for bowling. Great, friendly service with reasonable prices. No electronic score board… it was fun scoring the old-fashion way. So glad we found this place on Unilocal. Will be back for sure.

Literally like stepping back to the 70’s bowling alley! Cheap games, retro look, cheap beers… who could want more. With the age of computer scored, neon lite, video game like bowling, Metro Bowl brings you back to a simpler time when bowling was about socializing, not watching music videos on huge screens above the lanes. If you are older than 35 and remember keeping your own score and hanging out at the bowling alley with friends, you’ll love this place.

Fine establishments are an important part of a vibrant community. This truly is a great place. Jim, Todd, and Jonathan are great! Like the Cheers theme song. Sometimes you wanna go where everyone knows your name and they’re are always glad you came. They do not make bars like this anymore.

My kids bowled there with the Jaycees for years. My husband and I belonged to a league there. If we want to bowl just for fun, it’s the only place we’d consider. No computer scoring. Small and intimate. Retro and charming. Totally welcoming. Reasonably priced. No downside. We are so glad that Metro Bowl is here!

Metro Bowl is the no-nonsense place to meet your friends for drinks in Crystal Lake. It is laid back and generally d. bag free. You can watch a game, play darts, bowl or just drink without any fuss. Simple. The décor probably hasn’t been updated since the place opened, but I think it just adds to the charm.

Wow, I wish I had realized how totally awesome this place was when I was younger and lived in Crystal Lake. Retro-fun on the cheap, everyone. $ 1.50 shoe rentals, $ 3.50 games, $ 2.00 Hamm’s, and pitchers of diet coke for $ 3.50. AMAZING. You get to keep your own score, and they play awesome tunes here to boot. I LOVEMETRO-BOWL.
