The guys at The Shop are great! For me, it was initially about convenience, as I live just a couple blocks away. After going here a few times, it is much more than that. They really are the only trust worthy guys that I have met in this business. I have brought them a vehicle in the past, where I thought there was something wrong, and after inspecting it they found there to be nothing wrong and there was no charge. Other places would have found something just to make a buck. It’s evident that these guys are more interested in my long term business and not the short term quick deal.
I just got my brakes done here last week and their prices are much more competitive than other quotes. They got the job done in a reasonable time, too.

My car happened to break down very close to The Shop. I had AAA do the towing and since they are a AAA-​certified shop I had the car taken there. I was bracing myself for the worst but Craig was just awesome and helped get my car back on the road having spent a fraction of what I thought I was going to have to pay.
His advice was spot on and he couldn’t have been more honest. I never once found myself wondering if I could trust what he was saying and felt he had my best interests in mind. I highly recommend The Shop to anyone in the Crystal Lake area. I live over 30 minutes away and happened to break down near The Shop, but I am so happy I found them and will make the drive out to have them service my car in the future.

They fixed my car a couple of times, but the last time, the car pulled to the right when I got it back. So I brought it back in and let them know the problem. They said that they drove it, but it seemed fine. So I drove my car like that for several month before I got a flat tire.
We took my car somewhere else who just had to balance the wheels and then my car drove great. I don’t think the shop even checked when I brought my car back. I won’t be going there again.

These guys are straightforward and won’t try to sell you anything. They have fast service and treat their customers with respect. When my battery was acting up, I brought it in and they ran tests, told me the results, and waited for my decision — no pressure, no scare tactics, just information, and then a battery change immediately when I told them I wanted it changed. I was in and out in 30 minutes. Friendly, fast, and good prices.

This is the place I take my truck to get worked on. They have towing and a full service garage. It really cracks me up when I go here. The guys are really sharp, and have really «no-​nonsense» attitudes. They do what you ask, and if they find anything else broken they just say it once. No pressure to sell you anything, no tricks. I’ve tried many mechanics in the area and had some rather disappointing results so it’s nice to finally have found a place I like going.
