First visit since the change from One Buffet, and guarantee it will be the last. My son requested this for his birthday dinner, and our first clue to turn around and walk out should have been the lack of customers at the height of dinner time. Food was lukewarm at best, with several pieces bone, seafood shell, and hard fatty chunks found in the food. Plastic cups were visibly dirty, as was the table and condiment containers. Even many of the tong used to serve food, as pictured in the establishments picture, had the red plastic ripped and peeling. The whole place just had the feeling of a restaurant thrift shop. We did speak with the manager after one of my kids almost cracked a tooth on piece of bone, and were told this was not unusual for what he was eating. On a positive note, the hot and sour soup was good, but that’s about it. Our party of 4 left more food to be taken away, than was actually consumed. When I spoke with the manager again while paying, I told him that this was a birthday dinner and was never told that my son’s meal should have been free(only found this out from reading other Unilocal comments!). I also shared my extreme disappointment with food quality and temperature — he said the warmers were as high as they could go which greatly concerns me. He apologized for my unhappiness, and gladly took my $ 50+ payment.

It should be named a «Bottom» buffet instead. Been a regular here when it was«One buffet». Worst sushi I have ever had, I could not even figure out what the incredients were. Most food was cold and tasteless, including crab legs. Poor experience for the third time now, before assumed that it was just a bad day for them or something. It was always packed, now very slow. Not coming back here again, sorry!

Top buffet same as the One buffet. Minor changes same old Chinese buffet. Now they have a Hispanic cook to run the hibachi grill. He is rude! He does not talk takes your raw food points to the sign for what kind of sauce. I told him what I would like then he points again to the sign toward the end of cooking my food. keep In mind I was the only one there by the grill. Food was generally greasy, warm at best, shrimps are like eating tofu. Yuk! Crab legs are tastes double yuk! Nothing special, Sunday dinner with a drink, hot tea came to over $ 15.00. Not worth it! Go down the street to B king at least the fries would be hot! Stay away!!!

One buffet was pretty good for this area. Unfortunately Top buffet is far from the top. We went here for the first time after the change and my wife and I both agreed that it was definitely not very good. Being Asian American I know what good Chinese food is. I also know what to expect from a Chinese buffet. The change in the food compared to One Buffet is pretty drastic. It lacked flavor and almost seemed like the new cooks might not be Asian or even really know how to cook Asian dishes. The dumplings were cold and dried out, any dish cooked with veggies in it was soggy and limp, wonton soup was mushy, and so on. There really wasn’t one dish that I would consider good. You know it’s bad when the cooks and staff are the only ones eating in the dining room. I suggest the new owners go to Royal buffet in Schaumburg to see what a real Asian buffet is and take some good notes. Sadly, as former frequent customers to One Buffet we most likely won’t be returning anytime soon unless the food get a better.

Even though it changed names from One Buffet to Top Buffet there really isn’t a difference! I went there with my fiancé when it was One Buffet and we had gotten so sick from there we both agreed to never eat there again, we’ll little did we k ow the name changed so we figured well it must be new owners so we gave it another shot! We ended up being sick yet again! Don’t even waste your money! None of the booths are secured in place so when you go to get up it moves and disrupts other guests. The floors are sticky both times we went. Food bar was nasty looking, nobody kept up on the cleaning. They have dressings for salad or etc kept out all day and it was warm. Service sucked! Some food was over cooked and under cooked. Don’t even bother wasting your time or money! Very dirty place, not sure how they haven’t been shut down yet???

Unfortunately, when One Buffet changed ownership and its name to Top Buffet, it was a change for the worse. The quality of food and the cleanliness of the restaurant have both declined. They still have a good variety of your typical Chinese buffet fare as well as(a now more limited) sushi area and hibachi grill. The food lacked adequate spice/seasoning and was just blah. Others in my party were also disappointed as this used to be a good buffet. The waiter took care of dirty plates a timely manner but failed to refill drinks until asked and the just topped off drinks with a pitcher despite all of the ice having long since melted. Most concerning of all was the temperature of the food. The hot items were not hot, the cold items slightly cool. Even the ice cream was not frozen. We will not be returning to Top Buffet.

If I didn’t see a sign change, I wouldn’t have known this wasn’t the One buffet anymore. I haven’t seen a drop in service, but the experience was meh. Food not bad for typical Chinese buffet fare. Some interesting finds, clams, decent sushi, bacon wrapped shrimp. Almost 4 stars but not quite.
