Went there to rent kayaks, their waiver/agreement form states that it is $ 30 per kayak for a full day(8 – 4). The nice lady working tried to tell us that it’s $ 30 for 3 hours and any extra time would be charged at a rate of $ 10 an hour. When we asked about the agreement forms pricing she said that it was just a form, and that if we wanted we could call the owner. So, we did. He literally stated over the phone that«that’s just a form I borrowed from a friend that also rents kayaks.» He then stated completely different pricing than what the lady said and what his borrowed form said. At this point we decided to leave. I realize this is their season and that $ 10 an hour is a great price, however if you’re going to make people sign a legal document you should then honor that pricing on it. If we were to damage one of their kayak’s I’m sure we wouldn’t be able to escape any responsibility by saying«oh that was just some form.» Side note is that they still missed out on $ 60 with a room full of kayaks, proper thing to do seems to honor that price, and redo your waiver.

Came here to dive with Manatees. It costs 5 dollars for parking which is not bad. I would have preferred some kind of machine that dispenses parking passes rather than walking all the way to the shop and then all the way back to the car while in diving gear, but it’ll do. The main draw of the pier is the location. Crystal River is a pretty fantastic place to go diving period let alone with Manatees and Pete’s Pier makes it easy to get to with not a whole lot of hoops to jump through. Probably would give it 3.5 stars if I had more visits but the nature of Crystal River is that it’s kind of out of the way. However, my first impression is that it’s a fine pier with no real complaints.
