Being by myself, i found the inviation and service throughout the night to be well above my expectations. My tenderloin was cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes tasted as expected and were portioned perfectly for the plate. The beer was cold. I cant comment on the wine as they were out of the selection i wanted. The price i paid was on par, if not below, the value of the experience. I will glady visit this restraunt again the next time im in town and highly recommend it for anyone seeking a great night out.

Had difficulty finding the place, but when I did it was truly worth the search. Had Shrimp & Grits, and order of fried green tomatoes. The food was very good, rich, and the portions are perfect. Make this a stop when visiting Crystal River

Had one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. We started with the she crab soup and the Ahi appetizer and both were unbelievable. My wife had the salmon with the risotto and I had pan fried grouper with Gouda grits. There are no words to describe how delicious both entrees were. The service was also fantastic. You better make a reservation

Excellent food, great menu, great desert. I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone. Try the rack of lamb or poached salmon. We ate the bar and had excellent service.

Could not ask for a better birthday dinner everything we had was amazing including the mussels app. The ribeye steak melted in my mouth. If you are in the area defiantly have to stop in. The staff was very attentive and friendly. My only regret is that I live 3 and ½ hours away from the restaurant.

Hands down delicious! From the bread to the muscles! The shrimp and grits were worth every dollar for every bite you took! Gorgonzola salad was amazing! Just all around good! Service was top notch!

Love the setting of this place. Food was great also, wish this place offered OpenTable reservations or Unilocal reservations.

Fantastic food! Huge wine selection. Small dining room, so definitely call for a rez. Had the ahi tuna app, and steak bites with horseradish. Very good. In fact everything we ordered was very good. Servers are friendly & attentive. Atmosphere is small but quaint. Happy all the way around.

This restaurant has an inflated view of itself. We were a party of six that sat down, ordered and did not receive our salads until 45 minutes later. We then waited another 25 minutes for our meals. During that time, no one came to check on us or let us know what was going on. Finally, the front house manager Jodi came to the table with the excuse that this was fine dining and we needed to be patient. She also mentioned something about complaints re: our preteen children being too noisy.(Wasn’t even true!) We live in the foodie Capitol of the world and know fine dining. Never have we had excuses made for late meals. Never have we not been updated on our food status when it is an hour late. And we certainly have never had our well behaved children insulted. The food itself was good, no complaints in that area. But i would not suggest this place due to the attitudes and unfriendliness we experienced there on this particular night.

Waitress(Erma?) was not good from the beginning, seemed confused and not sure of things. Seafood chowder was good, but too salty. Husbands She Crab soup was ok, but too creamy and needed salt. Salt in shaker was a hard clump. After champagne we waited 10 minutes and had to ask for wine which we saw sitting on bar the whole time. She did not know how to open the wine(funky wax pull), yet claimed it was her favorite. Never received our clams ordered, waitress admitted it was her fault. Wine was warm… should not be served room temp in FL. Chicken roulade was dry and had little flavor. Husbands duck was good, but had a caramel sauce that would have been better suited for ice cream… too sweet for the duck. But the bread served in the beginning was very good… just give me bitter instead of pepper and oil.

This restaurant is a perfect example of southern hospitality. By the end of our evening we knew several of the staff by name, and had a good time catching up on places we had in common. The food was superb in every respect. The wine list is excellent. The deserts were stunning. Our visit was on a cool evening, but I cannot wait to return and dine on the porch.

Vintage on 5th is located in down town Crystal river Florida. I wanted to have a nice, romantic dinner with my husband while visiting family and friends in the area so I checked on Unilocal and all directions and rave reviews pointed to this place. I made an appointment days in advance and decided to choose outdoor patio seating. I figured it was a nice night(roughly 62 degrees) so I’d be just fine. Ambiance was quaint and romantic and a majority of their clientele were in the over 40 set. And they only serve during dinner hours. We arrived at their front desk and were escorted by our server to our table in the wrap around patio. So you ask, how was dinner? Well… Dinner was so so. There were hits and far more misses. Waitstaff was great, funny and attentive and provided several good recommendations but no matter how much I wanted to love this place, the food was just meh. The only dish I really loved was the grouper. It was cooked perfectly and was definitely cooked fresh from the gulf. I wanted To love the Gouda grits but I just couldn’t stomach it. And then there was the dessert. My husband ordered us flourless chocolate cake and instead of it tasting dense, rich, moist and chocolatey, it was dry, bland and I could barely taste the chocolate in the cake. I would pass on this and perhaps try their crème brûlée that others have been talking about. It’s considered fine dining locally but honestly, I’ve had better, similar dishes prepared elsewhere(minus the grouper. Grouper was excellent but nothing more). Lastly, and this was mostly my fault and myself to blame but I wore sandals that night and the following morning my feet were itching me like crazy causing me to get lil red welts on my feet. I thought they were mosquito bites and I asked my mother in law about it she told me I was bit by some no see um flies. Yes no see ums are actual insects. Look Em up if u don’t believe me! But either way, it would have been nice if there were some preventative measures put in by the restaurant so I wouldn’t have to deal with this uncomfortable itching. I guess exposure to this just comes with the territory.

Unfortunately, Vintage on 5th(Vo5) lost some stars last night. We could I only get reservations for 5:00 or 7:30 and I chose 5:00. We were seated one the doors opened promptly at 5. My requested waiter also had another larger table to service. Had bragged about this place to friends that know good food and service. I ordered the pan fried grouper(beautiful piece if fish) with Gouda grits. Hubby ordered shrimp and grits and escargot, friends had pan fried grouper, French fries with truffle oil, and a flavored mashed potato. My Gouda grits were cold and the small side of carrots and beans were cold with the beans overcooked, the carrots undercooked — and cold. I flagged our waiter down after lumping the grits on my bread plate and asked him to warm them. My friend asked him to bring more potatoes since his was cold. Those potatoes never arrived. The chocolate mousse was frozen to the point that we had to question if it were and ice cream sundae. The excuse was they had a new refrigeration system and it was too cold. So, after going here for many years, I think it will be a long, long time before I go again. If they are in business-I’ll go in about a year and a half. I will say the grouper was outstanding but I did have to ask for more sauce. Our requested waiter was efficient, knew the menu and wines, but slipped a couple times. He works his booty off though but having a table of 8 seated at the same time as a table of 4 makes timing difficult.

Very nice place to have dinner. Please be prepared to be in a more elaborated surrounding than usual. Price per person is more 50US$ on a full menu rather less. Service ist very nice, the chef is doing his job quite well. Kids menu is nice and well done. No beer.

This seems to be Crystal River’s «upscale» dining option. Unfortunately this was our least favorite meal of our trip to Crystal River. The ambience and service were both stellar but we weren’t over the moon about the food. I had the she crab soup which was just okay. It had a strong wine flavor and no chunks of crab, just strands throughout. Would have been better with some oyster crackers but it was not served with any. For dinner I had the ahi tuna appetizer. The quality of tuna was not great and the wontons were lacking flavor. The Asian slaw was drowning in sesame oil. My bf had the ribeye and said it had a bitter taste from some sort of mustard marinade-glaze that the waitress assured us could not be detected once cooked. They did have an impressive wine list and very reasonable prices for wine by the glass.

I was on vacation here with my Dad last week and we sat and the bar and a delicious dinner. The place was recommended by one of the bartenders at The plantation where we were staying . I had the jerk seasoned grouper off the regular menu and a cup of the«She-crab» soup to start. Unbelievably delicious! What made the place stand out to me was the wine list, I live in Boston and wasn’t expecting to find such an extensive list in this corner of Florida! Alot of good international pairing options there if you are having seafood or otherwise. I forget the bartenders name(said she was also a teacher) but she was lovely, had a great knowledge of the wine and menu, and made out experience a great one. I would definitely recommend this gem to anyone visiting the area!

Vintage on 5th is perfect for a romantic night out. This is where we spend our anniversary this year, and they didn’t disappoint. Their food is delicious, and the setting is quaint and beautiful. Service is great as well. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Still amazing. Everything perfectly prepared and so delish! Jody is a knowledgable and attentive server. Everyone makes us feel welcome. Love this place! This is really the only restaurant in the Citrus Springs area that I have been really impressed with — can’t go wrong with any of the fish and seafood dishes. I made a mental note to try the shrimp and grits and the ahi turn next time — they looked amazing!

Best food in Crystal River. Had the Tuna. Cooked perfect, love the wasabi cream sauce. Bisque is awesome. We comeback as often as we can. BTW per a previous review, they have upgraded their wine selection. I am happy!

My S.O. and I had the pleasure of eating at the Vintage on 5th last weekend. We were in town just for a few days, so we had to call last minute for reservations. They were able to fit us in, but the place was packed! Always a good sign. Our waiter(Michael, I think) was great. He was spot on with his wine recommendations. Since we were new to the restaurant, he gave us a run down of the menu and suggested his favorites. We started with the fish dip, which was surprisingly delicious. It featured a white fish, seasoning, and capers. The capers were the best part. They provided just the right amount of salt and bitter. It was paired nicely with some toast points. They also served us some fresh ciabatta with olive oil and herbs. I ordered the special, which was blackened mahi mahi with mashed potatoes, grilled veggies, and the chef’s special salad. My S.O. got the grouper francese with risotto. We both highly enjoyed our meals. The portions were great for the price. I ordered a piece of key lime pie for dessert. It had fantastic lime flavor, but was a tiny bit too sweet for my liking. Cute renovated space — I loved the feel of the restaurant.
