We spent 15min here. They have nice plaques to read about what you’re seeing. There is bench to sit… This historic site is on a busy road or main road. It’s nice and shady too. When parking to see it u have to park across the road. If you are handicapped may be hard getting across the busy st. But very neat place! I left the last star bc of the parking and getting across the st.

I will admit that this is not one of my favorite parks to stop, but if you are into history it can be somewhat interesting. This site was once part of a thriving sugar plantation owned by David Levy Yulee. Yulee was a member of the Territorial Legislative Council, and served in the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate after Florida statehood. The park contains the remnants of the once-thriving 5,100-acre sugar plantation: a forty-foot limestone masonry chimney, iron gears, and a cane press. The steam-driven mill operated from 1851 to 1864 and served as a supplier of sugar products for southern troops during the Civil War.
