I understand, U-Haul — you hate weekends. And you ESPECIALLY hate it when the first of the month falls on a Saturday when EVERYONE and their moms need to move. I also understand that you rent out trucks, so customer service may not be top of mind, but it would help just a little if you smiled; I’ll even take a smirk! Rented a 14-footer(same price as a ten-footer). Arrived around ten in the morning(that’s when they open on a Saturday) and three people were already ahead of me — so get there early! They gave me a little picture diagram and asked me to step outside in order to inspect the truck. They ask that you mark the diagram with any damage not already marked… and you betcha I marked that sucker up like no other! Yep, the trucks are pretty crappy. I just wish they would smile just a little, or have some sort of personality. Because a move is a stressful thing. The last thing any one of us needs is a crabby U-Haul man who blankly stares at you with a look of, «what do you want?» «Uh… to rent a moving truck?» Recommendations/Notes: — A 10-footer: 4 hours — A 14-footer: 6 hours(and same price as 10-footer) — You can reserve a utility dolly, but all the trucks come with them. Just don’t break the seal! — I recommend a furniture roller. — Get the basic insurance… JUST in case.
