The place closes at 10:30 called them at about 9:45 and said «hey I just wanna play the pinball you have»
They told me its 8 bucks to get in. I asked if the games were set on free, and no they are not.
So as a business when you are slow why would you charge non-​skating people to spend money on you’re game room.
Bad customer service just over the phone period and bad business skills.

Not a fan! We planned a birthday party for my boyfriends 7 year old son and had about 25 guest that attended the party and we asked if we could arrive ½ hour early to decorate and they told us yes but when we arrived the party before us was still there and even when the time for us to start had come we could not go to our table because the party before was still there. People in our party were arriving and we were still just waiting finally after about 15 after our time was to start we were able to go to our assigned table and decorate. We felt rushed and like it was so disorganized. Also to note we bought a birthday package and that was the most confusing package ever! They gave us tickets and told us to check in our own guest and in the end I think we paid more than we needed to because it was so damn confusing. I would not recommend a birthday party here! Very dissatisfied!

Props to those 40+ year olds that were out there skating today. After getting my skates on I realized I wasn’t 10 again. Every Birthday table was full. Admission was $ 5.00 with $ 1.00 skate rental. These skates need new laces. Rink has a wood floor. Atmosphere is fun but the place needs a remodel. Cash only. Good time for the kids.

Rollaero is exactly how I remember roller skating rinks from the late 80’s and early 90’s. It even smells the same! I’ve been here a couple of times for BCB Battlestar/​Allstar and Blitzdkrieg bouts, and they have a decent setup for smaller bouts. Fans can sit on the rink (cheek seats) or pick a booth.
I would really love to come skating here. The photos on the wall are AAAAA-​MAZING. So super 70’s and 80’s — it’s positively fantastic and makes me want to toss on a leotard and try to spin and jump around like I did when I was little! :)

If i could give zero stars i would. This place is terrible! We usually frequent Ozaukee Skateland, but we went here for my brother’s birthday. We always skate with my daughter in the stroller and never had any issues. We skated for maybe an hour, before an old lady came at me like a bull and was yelling in my face to get off the floor… nobody said anything previously so i had no idea what i did… the first thing she did was imply i was a bad parent for having my kid on the roller skating floor, and then kicked me off, because it’s a «liability» Every man, woman or child on a pair of skates is a liability, so i didn’t understand it. The place is seriously run down. The floors are scuffed and worn, and the skates need updating. They don’t offer any kind of speed skate rental. It was expensive. My sister in law called and was told free skate was until 5… we got there at 2… at 3:30, we were kicked out unless we paid another $ 2 per person to skate until 5. The snack bar had all the tables «reserved» so if you got food at the disgusting snack bar, you had to stand to eat it, because food wasn’t allowed where the was actual seating available to sit down at. DON’T GO HERE! The owner or manager was a mean crotchety old lady. She could have explained the stroller policy in a nice way, but the first thing she did was look at me with disdain like i don’t care about my kid because i had her strapped into a stroller while we carefully rolled around the floor. You couldn’t pay me to return. Try Waukesha, Butler or Ozaukee Skatelands… much more people family friendly.

The old woman that owns this place aught to be ashamed of the way she treats her customers. Heard her swearing and telling a man off right in front of his kids! When we went up to purchase our tickets she was rude and had a attitude with us. Horrible customer service!!! WE WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK TO THAT DUMP AGAIN! STAY CLEAR!!!

What kind of roller rink doesn’t sell Super Ropes? Zero stars for that, but I still had way more fun than I expected to so we’ll call it a 3.

Born again sk8r, used to live at the rink when I was young. Think I have been to Rollaero once or twice in my 20’s but didn’t remember it at all when I returned just recently with a group of Unilocalers.
Walking in is like walking back in time. The sights, the smells, the teens… the horror! Within the first 5 minutes, I was ready to leave. These kids need to learn the meaning of the word deodorant! Ish! This was a Friday night so I was on their turf. I remember how it was so I backed off with the attitude.
Impressive floor size, seems to be bigger than other skating rinks. I like that they kept the multiple entrance /​exit areas so there are not pile ups when you are trying to get on or off the floor. This was a Friday night so there was a person monitoring the skate floor and making sure no on was stopping or slower skaters to the middle. This was awesome! Just like I remember and I wish others did the same. Kudos for that. Music was good. My eardrums did not bleed from hearing every Bieber, Taylor Swift and One Direction song ever made.
Love, Love, Love that they play old school jams! Did I mention I love it!?! If you ever want to be thrown back in time and reminisce about your pack jam days, you need to check it out on a Friday or Saturday night. Ahhhh, the good ol days.
Since my first time we have been back about 4 more times and brought people with us that used to go. I’ve been told that everything is EXACTLY the same as it was years ago.
Not the most cosmetically appealing but I have to admit, I really like it (mainly for the old school jams) They do birthday parties and have daytime sessions too. Check their website for a full schedule. Closed in summer.

For #600, I give you Rollaero: a roller rink on the south side of Milwaukee completely untouched by the inexorable march of time.
Craptastic roller skate rental will run you a dollar, and while no doubt admission itself has been adjusted to account for inflation over the years, as of currently you’ll pay seven bucks for two and a half hours of «entertainment.» That is, in layman’s terms, «cheap as shit.»
Sessions on Fridays are broken into two: an early 6:30−9pm session, and a second session that runs until later… maybe 11? I can’t remember when it starts and when it ends, but if you try to stick around for a session you didn’t pay for and they find out they’re going to KICK YOU OUT. (Note: Rollaero does NOT mess around when it comes to rules, because there are KIDS everywhere and even if you’re an adult, they’re going to treat you like a child. I sort of understand this, but it’s disconcerting to say the least.)
Friday night means droves — LEIGONS, even — of screaming hellions on skates ages 5 – 17. Here’s the thing: if you’re an adult and you go on a Friday or Saturday, chances are you’ll want to go early since you plan to eat/​drink at an ADULT TYPE establishment after the rollerskating/​blading fact. (No, not that type of adult, though I’m certainly not going to stop you if that’s your aim, but to be honest, I think that it would be really, really weird to go from roller rink to strip club. Who are you, even? :shudders:)
The problem is that all the smaller kids go to the early session. Take your pick: screaming little tripping ones with glow sticks early, or haughty, awful adolescents too cool for the real world and eff you, dad, except they’re ROLLERSKATING. (Just you wait, teenagers. Just you wait. The world can be a cruel and unusual place, and you’ll learn quick enough.)
Let’s talk about concessions and refreshments, shall we?
Super ropes? They may be from 1999, but they’ve got ‘em.
Gelatinous nacho «cheese» on chips? You’re in business, Milwaukee.

I DON’T KNOW WHAT KIDS LIKE THESE DAYS. I heard that Mackelmore song and maybe Taylor Swift but dudes, I don’t effing know. Shit.
They do this thing where if you buy a glowing stick or ring or whatever you get to skate while everyone has to watch you. What a ploy! «Buy a thing and skate for longer while everyone else feels bad and has to watch you!» BOO.
All around, it’s not that bad, though. I mean, it’s kind of funny that Rollaero’s not been touched by time. And you don’t have to go on Fridays when it’s all kids… apparently they do adult nights every second Saturday, so that’s a thing.
CHEAP. Throwback. Rollerskating. South side, three stars.

I have never seen so many pre-​teens in my entire life.
Flashbacks of being a very un-​cool 11 year old who had no one to couple skate with aside… I enjoyed a few turns around the rink.
It was what you’d expect. Nothing has changed since the 80’s except maybe the music and my hairstyle.
It had a family friendly and safe vibe for a Friday night. That being said, it was packed. Fairly intimidating for those unsure of themselves on skate, or those who want to actually sit down at some point. This is off set by the fact that there are Super Ropes.
In the end, when prepared for the chaos, it’s actually a ton of fun!

Thought long and hard between a three-​star review and a four-​star one.
In the end I’m siding with three, and though not opposed to a future update, last night’s experience, while enjoyable (and I don’t believe three stars is bad) wasn’t «fan-​worthy.»
Got there a little bit later. Total mad house with teens and preteens zipping all over the place. I hadn’t been on skates in damn near a decade, so it took some time to get my, as Rachel put it, sea legs back. I never thought my shins could ache so much after just like 15 minutes. Thankfully they aren’t sore this morning!
So why three stars? Well, the joint was pretty dirty. I don’t mind the 70’s style (actually, sidebar, I don’t think it was a conscious choice, I think it was literally just left over from the 70’s — about the last time they cleaned their floor OR restocked their snackbar, but I digress), but the floor was filthy and I peeked into the restrooms — no thanks, I’ll risk a count of felony exposure and take my business out to the bush in the 20 degree weather.
The rink, however, was really well maintained, smooth, and save the kids trying at every turn to take me out, I didn’t fall once, nor did I get any debris under my wheels. So that’s positive!
They operate on a «song length» basis… sort of like strip clubs, which was funny because I sort of felt like I was in a strip club based upon the way they kept nickle and diming me for everything (and by nickle and diming, I really mean dollars).
How do I mean? Well, they charged a dollar for skate rentals, but then had a 3-​song set (roughly 15 minutes?) where only customers with their own skates could skate. Then they had a 3-​song set where you could only go on the floor if you had some sort of glowy sticky thingy. Rachel tried to get on the rink but was denied and had to make the roll of shame back to our table. (Nice try though! I bet she could take that ref if she wanted to…)
So arriving there at 8, leaving at 9, I think I got to skate for about… ½ the time because I rented their skates (read: paid more) and I didn’t buy some glowy sticky thingy. Sans that, I would have sided with a four stars. Oh well!
SO! PROTIP: To maximize your Rollaero experience, have your own set of skates AND have some sort of glowy sticky thingy. I think you can buy them at the grocery store for a buck or two? I didn’t see how much Rollaero was charging, but it was likely more.
If 9 wasn’t late enough for you, if you paid a little more ($ 2?) you could have skated past 9 to like 10 or so, thus increasing your odds of taking a dirt nap.

I took my nephew here to cheer him up – I hadn’t been skating in 30+ years and was quite nervous about it.
It wasn’t very crowded that day and I got by without falling and breaking something. :)
We had a really fun time even though I only knew one song (Thriller)…it was all new pop/​Bieber type music.
There was a kid there having a birthday party and after a conversation with my nephew… we decided to have my 43^rd birthday party there. :) Concerned about the music none of us old folks would know, I inquired about bring a couple cd’s with old-​school tunes. No problem he said… they could work them in the mix for us.
I booked the party for Halloween (a Sunday), hoping alot of people with young kids would be out trick-​or-​treating instead of inside skating. I was correct! We had the place pretty much to ourselves for the first session and my jams were being played! :)
It was funny/​cute watching the staff (skate counter folks) singing and bopping around to my oldies and thanked me throughout the session for bringing in the cd’s.
It was very affordable for my group of 20+ and let me bring my Hello Kitty birthday cake in.
Everyone had a great time, the staff was more than nice and I’m sure we’ll be back.
The building is nothing to brag about… it’s old and not updated but who cares IMO…
we came to skate and have fun and we got what we came for and some good exercise too!
p. s. I left them my cd’s so if you’re there… they DO have some old funk to skate to… just ask. (one of the ladies was so appreciative of the tunes… I told her to have the skate-​master burn her copies. «Yea, we don’t know how to do that» was her reply (THAT’S how behind the times this place is) so the next time I was in the area I took her copies and the smile on her face was priceless!

I started rolling here when I joined the Milwaukee Blitzdkrieg not too long ago. As a child I would frequent roller rinks all over southern California speed-​skating around the track and using the walls as brakes. The look and feel of those places never left my bones even after I put skates aside for almost 20 years.
This brings me to Rollaero. The first time I entered the parking lot I didn’t know what to think about the place. It looks like a WWII airplane hanger someone bricked up so they could store hazardous materials or military experiments. Not a bad thing in the least just a far cry from the strip-​mall looking places of my childhood.
Then I went inside.
It was everything from my younger days! Old counter with masses of ugly brown skates on racks that probably used to hold depth charges. Horrible yet awesome tables with chairs attached yet for some reason not bolted to the ground. A large and very well maintained oval of wood for young and old alike to fall… er… skate on. And the smell… Dear sweet Invisible Pink Unicorn the smell! There is only one place that has this smell and it’s old and very well-​used skating rinks. I almost passed out from nostalgia!
I can’t recommend this place enough if you are:
1) Old like me and want to relive the «glory days».
2) Want to join the Blitzdkrieg! Do this one!
3) Want to do roller figure skating. That’s a thing and apparently they have a good program here.

hang out for elementary thru high school kids in the area. they also do birthday parties (which my kid has had several there)
i called today to check availability for a party. the OLDER lady told me that she was too busy and to wait for 10 – 15 minutes. i advsd that i am unable to wair but i can just call back. she then said ‘just call back tomorrow when we are open to the public” when i kindly asked her the time she BARKED: «WELL I ASKED U TO WAIT 10 MINUTES AND U SAID U CANT WAIT DO I GUESS AN CANT HELP YOU!».she then slammed down the phone.
~~confused~~ so i called back and advised that it was a bit rude for her to yell and hang up on a customer… the lady then yelled «WELL I TIOLD YOU TO WAIT». with a calm voice i advised that is because i am at work, therefore unable to sit on the phone and hold for 15 minutes. that is why i advised that i could just call back”.
older lady then screamed «I JUST GOT OUT OF THE HOSPITAL SO WHAT DO YOU EXPECT??»
now, please let me know how is a CUSTOMER supposed to know what this lady’s health condition is??? do i know her personally???

Great Skating Place for Kiddies.
I do adult Jam Skating, Rollaero doesnt offer adult nights. The skaters here are majority Caucasian with 75% ten year olds, 25% 15 – 17 olds. They play top hits with a few old school jams.
I wont ever go back to many kids no room to skate.
