So another manager has opened a restaurant in the Log Cabin location. This is the Joe Webb designed log cabin right off the Dillard Rd. near Brysons. I want to make sure everyone knows that this is a wonderful spot for Italian food. My family and I made a last minute reservation tonight and were so surprised at the delicious food and nice service. I think I should compare it to Paoletti’s– the best Italian in town. No, it’s not as good, but it’s close, and much less expensive. It’s just a short drive from downtown(2 minutes), so it should be filled up with people, but it’s not. We started with a really good steamed mussels bowl — asked for bread to soak up the sauce. We also had a wonderful caesar salad, Tonight, we all ordered pasta-the bolognese, the marinara with meatballs and the fettuccine with wild mushrooms. All were delicious and sauces freshly made. The main courses that we saw drift by our table to others — the veal, the chicken, the ribeye — all looked fantastic. Highlands residents and visitors, we need to support this wonderful spot. It wasn’t totally full on a Friday in August, so they need more customers to make it past this season(or at least that’s my observation). We’ll be back weekend after next when we’re back in HIghlands. Thanks!
