Had my first experience at Croft burn market yesterday, and was absolutely thrilled. We bought 6 local NY strips, and I can safely it was some of the best beef I have ever had — melt in your mouth. Loved the selection and variety of their other products so will definitely be going back!

We love the meat from Croftburn Market. We’ve been getting a variety of beef, chicken, and sausages for over a year now and have never been disappointed. The customer service is excellent. I would highly recommend it.

I’ve been stopping by this place weekly for about a month and & half now, & have yet to be disappointed. The market is connected with Croftburn Farm
also in Culpeper. From what I understand, the farm is owned/run by the family matriarch, while the market is owned/run by her son. Like most small gourmet-artisinal markets, the stock is somewhat eclectic — local wines, beers, a small amount of artisanal dairy products — milk, cream, cheeses — & sometimes a few bags of local lettuce, spinach, &/or baby Swiss Chard, & a few root veggies. A freezer unit contains vacuum-sealed pieces of fish, beef, sausages, pastas, etc., etc. They also carry the usual brands one finds in little shops everywhere — Stonewall Kitchen mustards & sauces, along with other gourmet brands of the same sort of stuff. Also«gourmet» pastas, crackers, jams — the usual. The biggest draw, of course, is the butcher counter, containing an array of beef, pork, and chicken products. While I imagine the beef & pork most likely come from Croftburn Farm itself, I’m not sure about the the poultry products. As another reviewer stated here, I believed they’re outsourced from somewhere in PA. Regardless — the chicken sausages I’ve tried — «Honey Chipotle» & «Red Wine & Garlic» have been wonderful. What I always buy — without fail — is one or more of their locally-made baguettes. These have to be the best I’ve ever had(outside of the ones I make myself — lol!). Crusty exterior, soft but chewy interior. And what’s best of all, they don’t turn into rocks after 24 hours. Lovely stuff, & has become one of my husband’s favorite snacks & dinnertime accompaniments. Personally, since my husband doesn’t eat red meat, I’d love to see a larger variety of poultry products — especially turkey. While they do offer seafood — fresh on Wednesdays & Fridays — it’s too pricey for me to purchase here. Would be nice to see more local veggies as well, but I do realize that that sort of thing is über perishable & may not be cost effective. But these things are just personal preference on my part. Definitely stop in to take a look-see, even if it’s just to pick up a loaf or two of that wonderful bread!

Not normally a meat eater. This market was recommended for grass fed beef and sausage. I’ve been shopping there for 4 weeks and their products are amazing. The customer service is unbeatable.

First off, Andrew rocks! Second, their pepperoni is the best pepperoni on the planet. Seriously. They offer wines, cheeses, meats, milk, baked goods, etc all from local businesses & farms. Their steaks are delicious too! You’ll be absolutely happy with anything you buy from here & you’ll be keeping your money in local hands.
