After 15 years, & even in the very WORST of weather times, we’ve NEVER been without power for more than 36 – 48 hours tops, & those were just two situations that were during the very worst of the worst in a 15-year time period. For just the worst, 24 hours has been the limit. And for the least of the worst, 12 hours has been tops. Our most recent«Hurrican Sandy» had us lose power around 8 p.m. last night. I immediately called it in via their automated service, & by the time we returned back from enjoying breakfast out this morning(around 10 a.m.), our power was already back on. And this is how it’s normally been after severe storms, except normally power is restored even sooner. I can’t say ENOUGH good things about the Rappahannock Electric Cooperative. And must add that I feel SEVERELY sorry for the poor folks who don’t live in Rappahannock Electric’s jurisdiction & have to live with the dismal & laughable Pepco, Dominion, & other equally sorry-ass electric providers. In fact, I make it a point to advise any of our friends & acquaintances who express interest in moving to the Northern Virginia area to NOT — UNDERANYCIRCUMSTANCES — purchase a home that’s serviced by Pepco or Dominion. A few didn’t heed my warning, & boy have they been sorry.
