When I walked into the Angeles Eye Institute this afternoon, I was distraught and upset — I’ve had a persistent eye issue for about a year, and finally made an appointment with a DIFFERENT doctor in the same building(the building is full of different medical practices). Well, that DIFFERENT doctor cancelled my appointment, and I was beside myself — I mean, I’d already waited much too long to get my eye looked at AND battled LA traffic to get there. Well, thankfully, I was lucky enough to stumble upon the Angeles Eye Institute on my way out of the building, and I decided to walk in and see if there was any way they could fit me in their schedule. And they did! The doctor was kind enough to see me between his other scheduled appointments, and he and the entire office staff were great — real life savers — kind, knowledgeable, professional, everything you want when visiting a doctor’s office. The doctor gave me a full eye examination and quickly diagnosed my problem, explaining it in detail to me, so I could also understand exactly what was going on, what caused it, the various treatment methods, EVERYTHING. He even drew a diagram of my eye — his whole explanation was thorough and easy to understand — it really helped put me at ease to have my issue so thoroughly explained, so that i could make the best decision for treatment. Everything about my experience at Angeles Eye Institute was fantastic, and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for an outstanding ophthalmologist. I read the previous reviewers negative remarks, and I feel like I must make a point to say my experience was completely different. I didn’t see any patient forms with any sort of personal information lying about anywhere. And perhaps the Angeles Eye Institute has hired new front desk staff, because both of the women I dealt with were very professional and incredibly helpful and patient with my questions, as I asked — and re-asked, to be absolutely sure — several questions regarding my insurance provider, co-pay, etc.

I never actually saw the doctor. He sent his front desk staff to talk to me. The lady at the front desk was rude and unprofessional. She put some papers on a clipboard, and sat it on the counter. She never really spoke to me. In addition, the other girl at the front desk was busy on her cell phone. While waiting for one of them to notice me, I also noticed patient information out in the open. I could read names, DOB’s, SSN#‘s and addresses. TOTALHIPAAVIOLATION. I actually took a picture just to prove a point. I wouldn’t waste my time going back, more so, because I believe as a new patient, one of the doctors should have come out and addressed my concerns, not sent their staff to do it.
