I was about to buy a housing for my Canon 5d M3 from one of the big online retailers and probably I would’ve regretted forever! Buying from a local store and with the service they provided was a big PLUS for me. All the staff at Bluewater Photo were super friendly, Scott gave me a great deal and explained in detail why getting some stuff over others. Then Mike sat with me for half an hour and showed me how everything works and gave me great advice! I really recommend this place and will continue shopping with them!

I needed to get an underwater housing for a digital camera sent to me quickly. They were one of the few shops that had in stock and were able to ship it out the same day. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

The team at the Bluewater Photo Store is absolutely outstanding. As a Dive Instructor for the past five years I have had the opportunity to work with many different folks in the industry and folks at the Bluewater Photo Store are the best!
I have been lucky enough to borrow the ‘dive shop’ camera over the years when I wanted to take photos of the underwater world. These cameras were always really simple point and shoot cameras. This year however I was given a brand new Olympus E-​PM1 dSLR camera as a gift. The E-​PM1 is the best camera I have ever owned. It is user friendly, pretty much ready to go right out of the box, and the pictures are phenomenal. After I got the camera I started I looked into underwater housings since I had never had such a nice camera and wanted to take it with me underwater. There were several options and the reviews I found online were pretty helpful.
Then I stumbled onto Bluewater Photo and discovered their online videos where they demo their products and give full honest opinions on the merits of each item. I was hooked. I looked not only at camera housings but focus lights, strobes etc.
After a couple of hours of video watching I was pretty confident, but still had several questions. I emailed Scott Gietler a list of things I thought I needed and asked for his advice. He got back to me right away and made several helpful suggestions. Even after I placed the order online I got a call from a Bluewater sales-​rep to confirm that I was getting exactly what I needed. My order arrived two days later, which was great because my fiancé and I departed for Hawaii only a day after it arrived!
I ordered the PT-​EP06 underwater housing, a Light & Motion SOLA PHOTO800, and a kit to join the two together. The PT-​EP06 housing is a solid housing, I could not be more pleased with it. By pairing the housing with a set of ‘zoom gear’ you can take pictures underwater and work nearly all the functions on he camera with the knobs and buttons on the outside of the housing. The SOLA PHOTO800 is a great focus light, it was like swimming around with a mini-​sun mounted to the top of my housing. The red light comes in handy when you don’t want to spook your underwater subjects.
The equipment I purchased is top notch, but what stood out for me was Bluewater’s level of customer service. I will never shop anywhere else for photo equipment in the future because Bluewater Photo genuinely cares about customer satisfaction, and that is priceless.

The most comprehensive dive photo shop I’ve been to in SoCal! Wide selection, knowledgable staff, and extremely helpful! Definitely call them first the next time you have a question or are looking to purchase gear.

It’s great to have a local U/​W shop! They were very helpful putting together the equipment I needed and showing me how to use it. I’ve been on one of their trips before and it was a lot of fun and he helped me figure out what I was doing wrong with my equipment. Now, if he’d only take my photos for me…
