I am never unsatisfied with my meal at Café Laurent, and usually always have leftovers to carry me over for another meal. It is my go-to Culver City brunch/lunch spot when I have friends & family in town. The menu really has something for everyone and the baked goods(muffins especially) are amazing. I even get requests to stop by and pick them up for family events. The outdoor patio has a great atmosphere, especially on days when there is live music.

What can I say except that this was one of the worst breakfasts I ever had. Ingredients(bread, butter, jam, etc…) were cheap. The eggs were tired and felt dry as if waited too long under the heat lamp, but only some of them(it was like they scrambled some were fresh and some were the leftover from another order) toast was cold and the coffee was meh. And for all this poor to mediocre faire we payed a pretty penny. And speaking of payment, I don’t know for certain, but my friend and I who ate here split the bill with two credit cards. Each of us had fraudulent activity on our cards soon after the visit. Coincidence? I leave it up to you, but this is the only place we each used our cards together and we each had the same fraudulent activity(the same stores and gas stations in New England) Will not be returning.

Food — is very average. The French toast is not your regular which most are used to, it’s like a Panettone. Dough has cranberry etc and premixed so you can’t take anything out. It taste like Christmas. Service-was great, Victoria is amazing! Atmosphere– outside is very charming, small little tables, a garden setting. Parking-on the street.

Came here for a quick lunch on a Friday. While the service was great, the food could be a lot better. I ordered the poulet citron(citrus chicken with mushroom risotto and side salad). The major issue with this dish was that the mushroom risotto was not seasoned at all. While it did have cheese, there was minimal to nonexistent salt and pepper on it. It was really bland. In addition, you have a fried piece of chicken drenched in sour sauce on the left and a salad with a strong vinaigrette on the right. Other than a mouthful of tartness, there was really no other taste present. I do understand that it is supposed to be sour, but if there’s nothing else going on, I might as well eat a lemon. However, as I said earlier, the wait staff was very nice. If I were to come back, I would probably get something else.

I’ve been to Café Laurent around 4 times in the last 12 months. I’m not exactly a regular, but I can say that usually the food is tasty, comes relatively quickly and the environment feels like true french café. The servers are hit or miss and parking can be difficult(there’s a park nearby and if there aren’t many people at the park, this can be your best bet for parking). I’ve mostly ordered breakfast foods(served all day) and have generally found them to be delicious. I always leave with a bit of wanderlust for Paris…

Super cute little brunch place! Always drove by it on the way to work but never had a chance to try it until recently. If the weather is nice I would definitely recommend sitting in their outside area cause it’s a really nice garden area with a chill ambiance. Food was pretty good, I got the omelette with chorizo, potatoes, and some sort of chili and cheese with the potatoes gratin on the side(hopefully spelled that right…) Portions are pretty big so no need to worry about enough food. Service was good, our server and waitress were really nice and helpful and overall would come back again! Also the free latte with an omelette is definitely a win :)

The service here is actually really great… Even when they get crowded. The breakfast food was kind of bland though. Nothing special. But the ambiance on the patio and the service definitely makes this a good spot for brunch.

my own omelette concoction: spinach, mushroom, caramelized onions, chorizo, and bacon, with regular eggs. side of salad with dressing on the side. So delicious. check in and get a free latte with an omelette order. The almond latte was yummy. they give you free bread with butter and jam. The free bread is soft and good. The hostess and servers were very helpful and nice and attentive.

I’ve tried this place twice for brunch and both times service was great and as was the food. Love the bread basket with butter and jam. There is something for everyone on the menu. I like that you can bring your own champagne for mimosas if you are into that. If not, their coffees and teas are a fine choice. Outdoor seating is cute. Plenty of street parking along the park side. Will be back to try something new!

sent a message through their website requesting a reservation for 7, they quickly responded within 12 hrs and firmed it up! Arrived at reservation date and time and was immediately seated. I like a place, despite how busy they get, to honor a reservation on time. LOTS of food to chose from. I had the eggs Benedict over half a croissant with canadian bacon. It also came with potato gratin and something else i can’t remember. I also ordered a mocha coffee which came out hot and promptly. Service was very organized and attentive for a larger group. Food came out on time and at the same time. They forgot my friend’s coffee but quickly fixed it! It was pretty busy when we left, probably best to make a reservation if you can!

Cute outdoor area. But overall, three stars for the food. I had the Croque Madame with the potatoes gratin. It tasted average to me – nothing spectacular. Portion size was good. Service was great. Parking sucks – but if you do the side street in the neighborhood, you can avoid the meters. Tip: free latte with omelette(and check in)!

Came in on a Sunday afternoon. The place was packed, including the outside patio, so we settled for the bar. Everyone was extremely attentive but it was obvious something was going on between the two owners. They constantly argued and made snide comments towards one another. FOOD: the food was good, nothing too special. I ordered the smoked salmon eggs Benedict & my friend got a truffle burger(both recommended by our server/owner?). Her truffle burger(medium rare) was TOO rare she had to send it back. The food was unimpressive, just another brunch spot.

I was hopeful about this place but was not impressed. Arrived around 11am Saturday morning for a table of 2. Crazy busy inside and outside sounded like a mini club with music blasting. Ya I just sounded old by saying that but my brunch time is for relaxing. They gave us bread and jam that was actually delicious. Coffee was good too. I ordered the Eggs Benedict which was a bit cold which explains the long wait to get to my table. Hollandaise sauce was not creamy but runny. The poached eggs were on point and I liked how it was over a buttery croissant. But the food didn’t connect with me, it was more like I’m paying for this so eat it! We were done eating and waited about 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. The waiters were zooming past us and it was so noisy that they didn’t hear us ask for the bill. Maybe they were short staffed and maybe the good cooked called out that day but it didn’t do it for me. Ummm maybe next time? Meh

Seriously the best salad on the westside, Biquet salad($ 11.25). Fresh, lush greens, with lots of goat cheese and avo, seeds, tomatoes and a great, light Balsamic dressing. It comes with deliciious grilled chicken mixed in, but i get it on the side and share with Joey. This really is a great breakfast and lunch place. the BEST Biquet sandwich($ 10.50) — turkey bacon, cheese, avo, lettuce on the freshest fresh French baquet you’ve ever had. It sounds like a simple sandwich but it’s killer.

I have eaten at café Laurent multiple times and my favorite has been pain perdu and their omelette with comes with a choice of two vegetables and a sausage. They are humongous and can be easily shared among two people for breakfast. It can get pretty crowded over the weekends but still the management does a great job of accommodating all the guests. In order to cater to a huge crowd over the weekend, sometimes the food gets little inconsistent, overall my rating would be a four.

I absolutely love this place! It has been awhile, and I’m glad I came back. The Salmon Eggs Benedict is amazing, and the croque madame is delicious! Their breakfast sides are also very good, especially the potatoes gratin and the tomatoes and avocados with balsamic vinegar. Also, the ambiance is authentic. Many of the staff members are(or speak) French. The staff is also very friendly! The last time I visited, our waitress accommodated our party of 5 adults and 2 infants very nicely. They gave us a table of 6, and we wheeled 2 strollers along the ends. Our waiter rushed us to order, but the waitress who also helped us was very sweet and patient. Parking can be a drag, so if you don’t find a space behind the restaurant, you will have to find a spot in the neighborhood. There are free, open spaces near the restaurant, but you just have to circle the block a few times. Also, if the weather is nice, there is live music on the outdoor patio. Usually, there is a violinist, and the music is very soothing — it’s like being in a French café. I will definitely be back. I haven’t had anything on the menu I didn’t like.

**An extra star for great service.** On a nondescript corner in Culver City, you’d never know it was there, but be on the lookout: This place is a gem. An adorable, charming interior with an even larger patio area. Truly one of the best breakfast spots in Culver City, in terms of ambiance and locale. I’m a bad Unilocaler… I didn’t get our servers name. BUT, it shouldn’t matter, because every person that waited on our table, from the hostess to the busers, was absolutely fantastic. Never did we feel neglected. Service was super on-point. Complimentary Bread. French baguette, sliced, and served with butter and jam. Fantastic way to begin ANY meal.( ) We plowed through the first portion, so one of the floor staff asked if we would like a bread refill. I couldn’t believe it – It was like being in France, where downing half a baguette before your meal isn’t seen as a strange thing. I felt right at home. Eggs Benedict.( ) This one is tough, because the body of the hollandaise was one of the best I’ve seen in recent months. I don’t understand what’s up with all these places that are serving hollandaise that is broken, but Café Laurent is certainly not among them. Their hollandaise had a perfect texture and consistency, but lacked flavor. Overall, the Benedict lacked seasoning, and the croissant underneath was not as crunchy as the signature English Muffin. The egg was JUST on the cusp of being overcooked, but yielded enough yolk to mix nicely with the sauce. The potatoes au gratin were well-seasoned and nice and warm — a delight. The avocado and tomato struggled to find their way into the party. Not bad, but I think they can do better. The Breakfast Special.( ) My gf scored this combination of three eggs(her choice: scrambled), two pieces of breakfast meat, potatoes au gratin, and one giant fluffy pancake. Our server was most kind(as were the cooks) to allow her one piece of bacon and one piece of turkey sausage. What a pain in the ass, right? She’s lucky she’s cute. The eggs were scrambled in the traditional French way(a little wet), which I simply adored. No complaints on this plate. Overall, this place is just too cute. I will be back to see if the seasoning on the Eggs Benny was a fluke. How can I not go back? With such great service, I can’t help but give these folks another shot. After all, supporting local biz is the way to go. :)

Both my brother and I attend USC. He’s an undergrad and I’m a grad student. We decided to meet up and have brunch here to catch up just before school commences. The woman who greeted us at the door(the owner?) was super nice and helpful in terms of guiding us to the more popular entrées. I had the Pain Perdu, which is basically some bomb french toast! He had the Le Complete with potatoes, which he loved! Service was excellent and he food came out promptly. The taste was on point and the quality of the ingredients were top notch! The same woman who greet us took some time to chat with us to make sure we had a pleasant experience. How nice! I’ll definitely be back. Thank guys for the excellent service and great food!

This place was so adorable!!! I can’t handle how cute this place is!!! And there was live music in the courtyard outside. The food was delicious!!! Only downside— NO Parking!!! Took forever to find a spot on the street… Then had to pay a meter!!! Lame. And there were flies everywhere!!! Yuck!!! And the cappuccino was very bitter but maybe people like that. But it was a great atmosphere… Check out the pics!!! I came back again for the muffin!!! So good! Had a latte this time and it was perfect! Free with the Unilocal check in and an omelette! The salad and omelet was amazing! There was a couple playing live music! So cute! Love this vibe!!!
