Just tried this for the first time and loved the frank dog with all the fixin’s– grilled onions, their very own devil sauce, sauerkraut, and mustard. You can definitely tell that this hot dog is different than any other regular hot dog. I loved chatting with the owner James who is awesome and passionate about his food. Definitely will be back again!

Tried to eat here and they were nowhere to be found. I called the and said they might want to update their Unilocal information. They said they can’t. ??? Interestingly, they apparently can’t update their own website either because that info is wrong too. Long story short, they’re only at this location on the weekends. Make a note of it before fighting traffic to get there.

LBF was our truck of the day at our office campus on Jefferson and I got there in time to grab the last frank dog before they left. I’m really glad I did! Very tasty beef dog and the cute guy inside made it just the way I like it! Extra star for having a guy from New York inside serving up franks, I’m from the east coast and that adds a certain authentic touch ;) Can’t wait for you to come back!

This place has, by far, one of the best veggie dogs I’ve had(‘Not Dog”). It’s perfectly cooked and a bit spicy, and doesn’t have that rubbery texture than many veggie dogs do. If you’re in the mood for veggie dogs, definitely try this place. They are a bit overpriced but worth having.

This business doesn’t even have the decency to update their website before they change their hours. Drove from Redondo Beach only to find they’re only there on weekends!!! Are you kidding me? I would never go there now. No excuse, in this day & age, to not get your website hours right. Lame business

Great flavor, great service, speedy turn around, good quantity, overpriced. Overall, one of the top-10 hot dog joint in Los Angeles.

I’m only giving this 2 stars because I was really hungry and at that point the poodle sitting next to me would have sufficed for a hot dog. Honestly, absolutely nothing special. The dogs you get at Costco for a dollar does the same job. Save yourself $ 5 and get a dog somewhere else.

Let’s Be Frank catered a recent child’s birthday party. Sue was the proprietor and had an incredibly positive attitude from inquiry to setup to execution. She was a pleasure to work with, detail-oriented & prompt. The dogs are nothing short of sensational — authentic frank/link preparation with a nice variety of spices that both snap & taste perfectly. The grass-fed, organic dogs are pricier than most, but if you want that upper echelon dog, with great personality & service, look no further than Let’s Be Frank.

Amazing burgers and fries– Don’t think there are lots of burger places that are better than Shack Shack. The milkshakes are equally great — very thick and delicious! The location is great as well — you can grab your order and walk past the museum to get to Central Park to enjoy!

Excellent hot dogs with the perfect«snap.» But — as long as this establishment is inviting us to be frank — It’s hard to justify spending $ 6.50 for even an excellent take-out hot dog.(This is quite a bit more than Pink’s — or Shake Shack in NYC, where they are less than half this price.) So long as you can suppress the fact that you are overpaying — significantly as a percentage, but modestly in absolute terms — this is a great spot to enjoy a hot dog now and then.

Saright in a pinch, which is why I got it — pretty unremarkable. Dog was nice texture, good flavor — not salty. But wasn’t served hot or fresh. More like barely warmish. Bun was okay, pretty hearty, but it’s two halves(or if it wasn’t, it was after one bite) so it was more like a hot dog sandwich. The frank kept slidin’ out the bun(s) with each bite. Once my wiener is stuffed into buns, I want it to stay there without sliding out until I’m completely finished. You *know* what I’m sayin’… I like the idea of self-serve kraut(and condiments) but the relish was gone. Was told there was dill relish on backup, but I prefer sweet relish on a dog. No «special» toppings available except grilled onions and their own«spicy» sauce. I got both — was a paltry teaspoon or so of the sauce(I actually chuckled when I saw the portion) so I’m not sure what it tastes like, but it was most likely the source of that unpleasant cumin flavor. Glad I didn’t ask for more when I saw the laughable portion. Six bucks would be okay for a great dog, but a bit pricey here. Not crazy about the half-dollar service charge for credit card — especially on top of a so-so six buck dog. I was *once* wowed by a hot dog truck, yet it was inconsistent, as it got 2, 3, and 5 star reviews on three separate occasions. So, I know it’s not impossible to prepare and serve an utterly perfect dog on a truck. It’s just a rare occasion. I *might* eat here again in an extreme pinch… doubtful. Next!

The best hot dogs ever!!! Worth every penny. I had the turkey dog with caramelized onions and home made chutney. Soooooo good! The guy working the grill(James ?) was so enthusiastic and helpful when we were deciding what to order. My husband had a «mutt» which is a combination of a couple different meats. All the casings are thin and delicate. I can’t say enough good things about these amazing dogs. Don’t skip on the chutney!

You wanna be Frank. Then let’s… Your dogs taste like curry powder… but the title is Mutt Dog. Your spicy sauce isn’t spicy… nor is there any discussion about how spicy is spicy. Your one line responses made me feel that inquiring about your business was bothering you. You actually were serious about charging me $ 0.50 cents to break my hundred. What is that fee for? Gas money to drive to the bank? It’s cash! I thought you were joking until I actually counted as you walked away from me. No discussion as to why… no transaction fee from your merchant account. You’re not laundering my $ here… i’m buying a hot dog from your business with cash. Also not being given a napkin with my food… only to walk back and ask for some which i found no where on the outside of your truck which is the logical location for them. I ask you for some and you don’t even turn around, you just say, «right in front of you!» Dude I look around and there is one couple eating your food… you’re not slammed… there is no line at your truck(no surprise). So there should be no surprise for this review.

Hot Dogs aren’t health food, but they aren’t going to kill you either. Well, not immediately anyway. Ok, hot dogs are more like nuclear fallout ’cause it will«eventually» kill you, but who cares? We’re Americans. Hots Dogs are Americana in all its glory … like Apple Pie and Mac n’ Cheese. We don’t care if they are loaded with salt and preservatives. We love hot dogs. A place I work used Let’s Be Frank Dogs to cater an outdoor picnic lunch. The set-up was simple of a small grill cart with classic umbrella serving a long line of hungry co-workers. AYCE Hot Dogs FTW! The Beef Frank Dogs were popular, but I went for the Spicy Hot Dogs and Pork Brats. The Buns were pretty standard as were the grilled Onions, Mustard, Relish, and Sauerkraut. A nice discovery was the Devil Sauce. Chips and Sodas were on the side. By all accounts, Let’s Be Frank Dogs was a successful lunch. They arrived on-time, were ready to go when we were, and they kept the line moving. Now, I need to go find their food truck over by Father’s Office in Culver City and give that a try. Sure, hot dogs are like laws in that you never want to see how they are made, but they are also like draft beer in that there are really only two kinds: hot dogs and good hot dogs. There are no «bad» hot dogs. It turns out Let’s Be Frank Dogs serves the good kind.

Second destination spot of a Sunday in Culver City. We ventured to where Father’s Office was to enjoy our ice cream that we had gotten from Coolhaus. My friends eyes lite up as she saw this hot dog stand outside in the parking lot of the plaza. She was so mesmerized by the hot dog that she had eaten up in San Francisco, that if this was the exact same one, after we ate our ice cream, we were going to get one! After Googling up the name, low and behold, it was the same — and so the journey of Let’s Be Frank Dogs began. Who knows if this vendor gets a big line as it’s right outside of Father’s Office, but when we came there wasn’t that many people(but then again it was a rainy/cloudy day). We lined up, and for $ 5 you could choose between a Frank Dog, Brat Dog, Not a Dog, and some other variants. We went with the Frank Dog, with grilled onions, and the wonderful Devil Sauce that they sell. Does a grass fed cow make a load of a difference in a hot dog? I’m going to have to say yes if that’s exactly what Let’s Be Frank uses for the Frank Dog. Smaller then traditional dogs, this one was perfect for scarfing down. Juicy, plump, and easy to the chew. With the grilled onions, and devil sauce, which is sort of like a sautee? and the fluffy bun, I was a happy camper. It was simple, and totally spot on. Not no fancy weird crazed named dog you’d find at Pinks. Big ups to the guy working that day as well. Friendly, talkative, and got us some samples of their vegan sausage which I must say doesn’t taste vegan at all. Fair warning, it’s quite addicting. If I wasn’t half full from the ice cream sandwich I just had, and the thought of eating fries and a beer @ Father’s Office after(yes we pigged out. don’t judge) — I probably would of spent another $ 5 to get one more: D

During a setup for a Gala«Let’s Be Frank Dogs» were hired to cater for us at lunch time. They could not have a made a better choice — franks were fresh and ohhhhh!!! so tasty. They had about 5 different frank options to choose from one was a vegan frank. Ive had others and I have to say this is my favorite one so far. They have a Devil Sauce — I highly recommended to try, it has a nice kick, a little spicy but really good(I only used a couple drops and usually love me some spice) Service was great and friendly… hope I get to try other franks next time :)

So I cringe a little at the thought of a $ 5+ hot dog! But these are so yummy and the fact that the animals are grass fed hormone free makes it less cringe worthy! These dogs are so yummy! That even if you are still little hungry after, it’s worth it! Try the special sauce.

***Let’s Be Frank’s grass-fed beef hot dogs and bratwursts are expensive and not that filling, but they make for a tasty mid afternoon snack*** Let’s Be Frank is a grass-fed beef hot dog stand/truck next to Father’s Office in the Helms area of Culver City. The cute looking truck features hot dogs, turkey dogs and bratwursts. The dogs can be topped with caramelized onions as well as their special devil sauce. Organic ketchup and mustard are also available. The dogs here are not too filling so they are not the best deal at $ 5 a dog, but they taste good(the buns taste good too and are nicely warmed up). I prefer the brat dog the most, which has a good savory flavor and is juicy. The turkey dog is also good. Their hot dog uses a natural casing and it is quite thick and a little bit of a workout to get through. For refreshments, water and bottled drinks are available. I do not think they have any sides(with the exception of maybe bags of chips). Service is friendly here and very quick. They have a few concrete benches(that are shaded), which provide a nice spot to sit for a minute and eat. This part of Culver City is nice to look at on a sunny day. You also do not have to be 21 and older to eat here. I have noticed that several families have been turned away from next door Father’s Office and end up here instead. While Let’s Be Frank’s dogs and bratwursts are probably not worth the high price tag, they are satisfying for a quick bite when you want just a little something/snack before your next meal. The Helms area has free parking. Free street parking is also available.

Asked the Let’s Be Frank guy if they make their own vegan franks for the«Not» Dogs. He clarified that they use Tofurky branded Italian sausages. Looked at the ingredients. Yes, they are really vegan.
