Line out the door at opening. You have to order and pay, then they bring out food. Got the egg sandwich,.fried egg with cheese on a croissant. It was fresh and soft. Only complaint is I asked for them to break the yolk and it wasn’t. Different milk options for the coffee would have been nice. At least one non dairy option, like soy, almond or coconut milk would have been good.

passing through the area and found this place on Unilocal.Great location and friendly service. Had the french toast and chorizo bowl-both were amazing! The chorizo bowl had a great flavor and just enough heat to make me order it again. And not too greasy! The french toast was flavorful with a lot of fruit. The bread was sweet, fluffy and perfectly cooked. Coffee was perfect-dark and strong. Would come back anytime!

Found this place on Unilocal while traveling on I68. Ordering was a little confusing at first until they explained that the menu was at the counter where you placed your orders. Food was delivered to your table. This is a delightful local café with friendly service and excellent food. My wife ordered the chicken salad sandwich w/o a roll(GF). It was served on a bed of lettuce. She said it was very good. I had a BLT and it was a really good BLT sandwich with generous amount of bacon. Hope we can stop there again sometime.

Great place for breakfast or brunch in the quaint heart of historic downtown Cumberland. Casual dining, order at counter, self seating and they bring the food to your table. Small menu, but all items delicious. Highly recommend. Very close to Hwy 68.

The menu is creative, the dishes nicely presented and service was friendly and timely. High quality coffee. Very good baked goods for sale as well. Our suggestion is to combine some of them(perhaps the whole wheat croissants and bacon scones) into the other menu items like the egg dishes. I especially enjoyed the baked french toast and crab omelet. Recommended and somewhere I will be sure to return to when in town.

Café Mark is what a coffee and sandwich shop should be. Great coffee, great sandwiches, great atmosphere.

What an adorable café! We came in and got the banana bob sandwich. Trust me, you need to eat this! It’s bananas, honey, and granola on a sandwich. Absolutely to die for! The atmosphere here is wonderful as well. Easygoing staff. Decent prices($ 7ish sandwiches). Smooth music. And comfy couches. Worth visiting for sure!

Very pleased withy omelette this morning! I hadn’t been in in a while and was really looking for breakfast. Glad I went to café mark. It was very pleasant and the food hit the spot.

If you serve breakfast all day Sunday then why can’t you serve it all day Saturday. I’m annoyed, don’t tell me I have to be anywhere by noon on Saturday to have breakfast. I should have just left but the only redeeming thing is that they make a good Americano. I wanted to try the blueberry French toast but since they can’t accommodate me then forget it

Cumberland is a small town so sometimes choices are limited. Still, if you want a nice breakfast that tastes good but may not be overly fancy, this is a great place to get it. It’s along the downtown pedestrian mall and, in good weather, it has outdoor seating. Inside the ambiance is somewhere between diner and coffee shop. The menu is short but with plenty on there for a heart breakfast to get you started on your day. The pastries are delish and, like everything else in Cumberland, the people are super friendly. They make some gourmet coffee, too. It tastes good and gets you going. My guess is that this place is really very pleasant in the summer months when the weather is warm and you can grab a cuppa Joe and a nice sweet treat. The fall and winter months need a little more seating area inside but I’m not sure how busy it gets in Cumberland. Great place.

We were here for a weekend in the small town. We came to Marks café for breakfast because there was not many places open On Sunday. The menu looked very interesting and it was hard to choose what to eat. We ordered smoked salmon sandwich and sweet baked French toast. They were exceptionally good. They also gave us cinnamon pumpkin cake and lemon poppy seed muffin. Wow they were also good. Would definitely come back if we drive thru here

One my go-to dark roast places! The omelettes are very good and the crunchy blueberry French toast is a must have! The bakery items are made in house and are really good with your coffee. The place can get busy so wait times for food can vary but the friendly staff and excellent food makes this place a must!

If I lived in Cumberland, or came here more than once in a lifetime(Literally had never been to Cumberland before) I would frequent Café Mark and probably make it one of my go-to spots! I stopped in for lunch after making some business visits around town. I love the space, lots of seating, from tables to the bar, to the lounge-looking area on the second floor in the back. The specials were easy to find: chalkboard on the sidewalk and chalkboard on the left side of the wall as you walk in. The menu is pretty small but I ended up with the special salad: Spinach, pears, gouda, walnuts and balsamic. YUM! There was a mountain of thick shredded gouda on that thing, like probably a quarter pound of cheese on that salad! It wasn’t a huge salad and probably could have used some chicken or turkey to make it more filling but still very good! I don’t know that I will ever be back, but if I am, I would love to try the coffee! Also, bonus points for having really nice bathrooms!

The wife and I stopped here about 2 months ago while we were exploring downtown. We each got smoothies(which were absolutely fantastic), and we were so impressed that we both agreed to go back and try the food. We went the following Sunday, where we discovered their weekly brunch specials. They change from week to week, ranging from seafood inspired dishes to the most amazing stacked waffles. I highly recommend eating here, as the food is simply amazing, and the atmosphere is delightful. As part of my work schedule, I only have one weekend off a month. During that weekend off, we have pledged to do Sunday brunch every single month. Seriously, it is that good.

It’s a great place in Cumberland, and it’s always my go-to when I’m in town. It is a little pricey but I don’t mind supporting a local business. The only weird thing was that the last time I was there I ordered a cappuccino and the woman working asked me if I wanted more milk or foam. I had no idea. I had never had anyone ask me that before. I mistakenly said more foam. My drink didn’t taste like a usual cappuccino, but I feel like that might have been because I chose more foam. In conclusion, if you order a cappuccino here, choose more milk!

Was in town for a month on a medical rotation, staying right next door to Café Mark(at Windsor Hall). Specialty lattes are very, very tasty — great recipe for each — but beware, they can be very sweet! I had the Almond Joy latte. I do think their coffee selection is the best in Cumberland. The food is good, but is a little overpriced given the quantity and quality. Buying a lunch sandwich as just a «sandwich»(not a meal) doesn’t even come with chips, and costs around $ 9. I probably would NOT come here for the food. The ambiance is very nice. There are many small tables that can seat 2 – 3, as well as an upstairs area located in the back. Their music selection is AWESOME! The staff are very friendly and are always checking on you to see how you are doing.

Had the chicken salad which is supposed to be their recommended sandwich. Found it heavy on the mayo and pretty bland. Breakfast was a different story. The butternut squash omelette was awesome. Definitely recommended.

Stopped by this café for a quick drink on a Friday afternoon. I wanted something cold, so I asked about their Italian sodas, to which they’ll add a variety of flavored syrups. I asked for a recommendation, and the gal taking my order responded that she’d never had one. Huh. Very odd, given that it seemed like a house favorite. I ended up with raspberry — a couple pumps of syrup, topped by ice and a bottled soda(It might have been Sprite, honestly. She did a good job of hiding it behind the counter when pouring). And the lid wasn’t a typical one, but the kind you’d have on a drink with whipped cream on top(wide mouth), so the straw slipped all around. Skip the Italian sodas. Husband had a latte, and it tasted good. Cost for both drinks was almost $ 8. Pricey for Cumberland, but not bad if it’s worth it. I’m not sure this was worth it.

Reflecting on my two-day visit to Cumberland, there’s a lot to like about this town, and my favorite discovery was the Café Mark. I ordered the Waldorf chicken salad for lunch and it was so delightful that I came back the next day to eat it again. (An additional perk was that the staff remembered me when I came back, but I can’t guarantee that for everyone because I may be particularly memorable.) You can take an easy, scenic walk to get to the Café Mark if you are staying at the Fairfield Inn, and there are galleries, antique shops, and a bookstore all in the same area. It’s pretty special. I’ve saved the best part for last. The coffee. I asked for their darkest roast, black. That was a damn good cup of full-bodied coffee. The kind of coffee that sets my creativity rolling, gives me a pleasant head rush when I stand up, and makes me talk to strangers like I’m some kind of celebrity interviewer. If I lived in Cumberland, I’d be a regular. As it is, I’ll plan my future road trips to revisit the Café Mark.
