Possibly the best lemonade on the planet. I crave it 24⁄7! Whenever I make a trip to RI in the Summer this is one of my first stops and one of my last stops. Nothing can ever compare…

How can you not love dels. I wish they were open year round! Nothing better than a frozen lemonade and a pretzel. Yum. Yum. Been coming here since I can remember. Two thumbs up!

The location in Cumberland on Rt. 122 has become a dump over the past two years or so. Not sure if the franchise owner has just given up or is ill etc. Poison ivy covers the benches and fence, trash/litter is everywhere, picnic tables are in really rough shape. I often wonder that as sales decline the owners are so clueless as to not know why. I only gave it 2 stars as the staff is usually friendly and helpful.

Ehrmergerrrrd talk about your ideas stop-drop-and-slurp! I can see why Del’s is a RI staple. 1:22pm: arrive 1:23pm: order(from exceedingly personable young woman who compliments me on my outfit) a medium grapefruit slush($ 2.50) 1:24pm: pay $ 2.50 for a cup of delight 1:24: 30pm: depart Fast — delightful — delicious(these are all good things). The parking lot is a bit precarious(it’s a heavy traffic zone, and you’re likely less observant due to pre-Del’s sugar low), but you can’t beat the price and the summer ritual.

Del’s has been my favorite things since I was a kid. How can you go wrong? I have never been able to find frozen lemonade that compares to Del’s for me. Although the classic lemon is always good I usually gravitate towards the delicious watermelon. They open in April and in RI that often times means still wearing a winter jacket but that does not stop people from flocking to Del’s. On a hot day the line is long and the parking lot can be pretty tight. But luckily scooping a cup of lemonade only takes a few seconds so you can get through that line pretty quickly. Go with the Watermelon or Lemon, you can’t go wrong! Cash only!

It is almost impossible to mess up a Del’s lemonade unless the order was done incorrectly. The prices are a lot higher then I remember from a few years ago, but then again what is not. Perfect for a steamy hot day, like it was today.

Best part about this Del’s(besides the lemonade) is that it’s within walking distance from my house. Great staff and a great selection A+

Del’s is a Rhode Island institution. Summer is not summer without a Del’s frozen lemonade. The day it shuts down for the season may be the saddest day of the year. The classic lemon flavor is really refreshing and has little pieces of lemon peel in it too. The cherry is also good but for me, it’s the lemon all the way. They also have other flavors too. You can buy kiddie sizes to gallon sizes for parties. I can’t imagine the happiness I’d experience if someone rolled up to a BBQ with a gallon of Del’s– instant hero. If you haven’t experienced Del’s you must.

Del’s is a Rhode Island tradition that I have been obsessed with for the last 15 or so years… it’s something I crave as soon as the weather starts to warm up. I recently stopped at the Cumberland location to get my first Del’s of the year… Like a shining beacon of amazingness, I saw the yellow and green sign from far away and was happy to be visiting my first real Del’s stand. Prior to this, I had only purchased my lemonade from the back of the truck at Colt State park or in front of Eastons Beach or at the old pizza place that used to be across from the carousel at Watch Hill. But this… this was the real deal. At the counter, I didnt even look at the flavor choices because when it comes to Del’s– Im a purist. The real choice was what size… I went with the medium which proved to be just the perfect amount to both satisfy my craving and gave me only a slight brain freeze. Once again, Del’s did not disappoint… the ice was pefectly blended and there were tons of lemony bits– the best part of the lemonade. I continue to be huge fan of this Ocean State staple and will be requesting another stop at the Cumberland stand during my next trip to RI. I also picked up some mix and will see if I can recreate the lemony magic at home… maybe with some tequila mixed in ;-)
