Finding any trustworthy car related service places, (whether they are tire dealers, new car dealers, or local mechanics) can be painful. It’s just one of those things. Like you almost go in expecting to get screwed some how. We moved here a few weeks ago, and needed to find a mechanic to take care of some issues with our car. We chose Mutter Motors based on their close location, and also having good reviews on Unilocal.Well, like picking that winning lottery number, we couldn’t have been more pleased with everything from the no pressure attitude, to timely repairs, and fair price. Bingo! We found a winner.

This place should be considered for all your automotive troubleshooting needs.
I worked with Jeff with my wife’s car and he was very patient with explaining what was going on with the Check Engine light. Not only that he fixed an exhaust problem that would have prevented an inspection sticker as well as replacing a ball joint and tire.
A good mechanic is one willing to do troubleshooting and diagnostics on your car and not merely replace things using computer error codes!
This was also done for considerably less than if I brought it to Meineke or Firestone, which was going to be at least $ 400 – 600 more for the same amount of work.
The car has 166,000 miles on it and runs like new now!

I bought a car here, it had problems and I took it back there and «they didn’t know what was wrong». Never gave me a receipt or anything when they looked at it, they delayed the process until it was past warranty and never fixed it. I had to take it somewhere and it cost $ 1,000 to fix it. Not too mention the interior of my car was dirty each time. The people are really friendly but the car. Not so much.

Time to branch out and do a non foodie review! Let’s talk shop. Auto Shop that is… Mutter Motors is the best place to go. I put my pedal to the medal, or get towed there, from wherever I am. I live in Providence and make arrangements to get a ride back, so I can have them service my car. They are friendly, respectful, HONEST, and always upfront about what’s needed. No upselling, no badgering and never any patronizing. And let’s face it folks, going into a mechanic shop, I have everything against me… female, gay and butch… its usually a scary experience, but here its a pleasure. Thanks guys! Oh my favourite guy there is Matt. Kudos.
