I can’t believe there’s only one post for this place! It’s hands down one of the best b&b’s I’ve ever visited. Gayle is a wonderful hostess. She is accommodating to the cyclists and hikers who go through the trail nearby. Our bikes were muddy and we were able to hose them down before being securely put away under lock and key. Our room came with a private bathroom that had a washer/dryer in it. This was a fairy tale come true for a couple of long-distance cycling campers like us. The breakfast was just about decadent. Good coffee, delicious hot cakes, yogurt, granola, fresh fruit salad(not canned, not yesterday’s), bacon, sausage, eggs, etc. If you’re in the area you MUST stop here.

As a B&B, this is above and beyond! When we were bicycling on the C&O canal trail, I had a medical problem during the night and had to go to the hospital in the morning. Gail, the owner, loaned us her car. She then told my wife that she was leaving for a few days and had intended to close the B&B, but under the circumstances, my wife was free to stay there, even though she would be away. Gail also runs a bicycle touring business, so she is extremely knowledgeable about the area. The other couple staying at the B&B were also cycling, so we enjoyed comparing notes with them at breakfast. The room was wonderful and we had a private bathroom which even had a washer and dryer(very appreciated while on a bicycle trip!). The B&B is very close to downtown Cumberland, so it was easy to walk downtown for an excellent dinner. Gail’s breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend this B&B.
