My family of four adults chose the Tower House while vacationing near Cumberland last week. All of us were very happy with our food! Try the ravioli with raisins. Yum! Italian Beef and burgers are very good, too! We will definitely stop in next time we are in the area. Our server was polite and attentive! We were seated in the front room by a window, very nice!

My wife and I were passing through and saw their lovely building and we stopped to have a drink outside. We were advised by the server/owner to enjoy their special tall tequila margarita which was basically a tequila sunrise. I asked if they use Patron instead of their standard rail tequila. The drinks were refreshing, yet there was no sign any tequila was used. Being sensitive to alcohol, I am quite good at noticing the affect of the amount of alcohol used in a drink. But the real surpirse came when we got the bill; $ 8.25 for the drink and another $ 3.75 for the tequila. $ 12 for a watered down drink in northern Wisconsin? Come on. Did they see us coming? We don’t pay that much for this drink in Milwaukee or Chicago. A little advice. If you frequent this place, get the shot on the side and ask first what the cost was,

I don’t know that I can add a great deal more — except to say — it so refreshing to have a really nice place to enjoy good food. Great staff — attentive. As Dave says … A great discovery. Bring your parents or friends for a dining experience you usually in get in a more metropolitan area. The vintage(not junk) interior and smell of garlic will pull you in. Enjoy! Next stop — if I am ever hungry again — The Corner Bar.

This is a great place — food is good, service was fast and very helpful, the outdoor patio was very pleasant. It is difficult for us to usually find a gem like this while traveling, both my daughter and I have a gluten allergy and they have great options — my daughter had the gluten free pasta and I had the Tuscan chicken which had garlic/butter and veggies. My hubby and other son had a burger which came with bacon and satisfied his craving. The fries were also good — no coating on them so us GF girls could eat them. We could also have our two small shih shu’s out on the patio grass with us too which was great for driving back to the cities from camping. Highly recommend!

My husband and I stopped in for our anniversary hoping to find a special spot in Cumberland. While the décor and ambiance were quite lovely the food was not as we had hoped. Don’t get me wrong, there were delicious parts of our meal — the chicken gnocchi soup is out of this world and the cheese dippers were good and quite unique. However, main courses were lack luster. The grilled chicken in both of our dishes was very overlooked, tough and flavorless. The cheesies were like something your grandmother would make — which is fine but not exactly what I would ever want in a date night. The vegetable of the day was a frozen California blend and wasn’t anything special. The side of spaghetti was over cooked, without a hint of Italian spice in the sauce, which was disappointing since this is an Italian restaurant. I want to like this place, so go for the gnocchi soup and you’ll have a delicious meal.

Point anywhere in the menu and it will be an awesome meal. This Cumberland original now is a must see from what it used to be. With a great history behind it makes this a must see in Cumberland. In the summer the cocktails are so good you may need more then one.

We just had the most awesome meal at The Tower House. The service was fast and attentive. The homemade bread was a treat. The 3 cheese Ravioli w raisins was so outstanding i almost ordered a take home portion. There is a small, well stocked bar and easy wine selections. the home was built in 1882 and the new owners have meticulously restored it inside and out. I can’t wait to come back in summer to sit out on the patio!!!

The Tower House has lost its dowdy image! We’ve enjoyed the ravioli here for years and are thrilled with the new food choices and wowed with the charming(and at the same time elegant) remodel. The tower burger does«tower» with carmelized bacon and onion rings. The salads are crisp. The creamy chicken and gnocchi soup was amazing. It said it included artichoke hearts but sadly I didn’t taste any but the potato gnocchi were scrumptious – nothing like mucky ones I’ve had sometimes. Will be back soon to get their take on my old Tower favorite: raisin ravioli.

Stopped here tonight with coworkers as we were driving through on a business trip. Beautiful hardwood floors and charming décor showing the original owners from 1952. Excellent homemade pasta — I had the chicken and cheese ravioli with meatballs. The Parmesan peppercorn dressing was delicious. Whatever you order, save room or make room for the chocolate silk pie. I will dream of the homemade caramel sauce. Friendly service and budget friendly.

The owners are the best! Go for the fresh baked rolls, if nothing else.

For decades, I have driven by this big old Victorian house set back from the Main Street in Cumberland(Hwy 63) countless times. Always wanted to stop. Finally did. The place has new owners since 2009, but they are not fixing what wasn’t broken, as Unilocaler Rhonda G. likes to put it! I had half rav, half special pasta(forgot name) that is like potato gnocchi. The latter was indeed made with potatoes, very good, interesting, but the ravs stuffed with cheese and raisin are a delicious combination that I’d never heard of. Ravs are huge — mis-shapen homemade pasta pillows that I would order again and again(also cheese and chicken). Red sauce is excellent too. Salad bar was nothing to crow about but soup was a tomato bisque and very good. And the hot roll was homemade, huge, looked like a popover: I could eat those until carbohydrate comatose set in. My small plate had two ravs with the«gnocchi» and one v. good meatball. Dang it, it’s only 10 a.m. and I can’t wait to finish this for lunch today. Husband had Italian sausage sandwich with sausage from Louie’s, also in Cumberland and very good, and son had meatball sandwich. They use local organic beef if I recall. Walk around the dining rooms in the large house and look at the history of the home on the walls. For singles, there is a cute little diner area in the back of the house too.
