I helped rebuild the zoo after the fire. It was a great experience! We got to help the community, and also met Bob Candy, the owner, and the animals. He is such a great guy, and the animals are so friendly! You can even bring home some ducklings as pets if you ask. I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the great time

This zoo doesn’t appear to be much at first glance, but it is amazing. I went with my family and the owner was extremely helpful. We ran into him several times during our visit and he made sure to answer any questions we and and he told us stories as well. It is clear the employees, especially the owner, care very deeply about the animals there. He spoke of some of them, for example Charlie the cougar, very fondly, almost as if they were his children. The zoo is always looking for volunteers and donations and I wish I could help out more. Price is only $ 6 for adults and $ 4 for children. It’s easily worth this.

It appears to be a little rundown but don’t let the appearance fool you. The owner is really nice and goes out of his way to make sure you get to see all the animals. Rabbits, chickens, peacocks, tortoises, pigs and such roam free around the grounds. A couple of rooms of exotic birds. A room of snakes and other reptiles. There’s also a Bengal cat, capuchin monkey, a few tigers, a male and female lion, bobcats and a cougar. There were tons more but I can’t possibly name them all. It’s not the nicest facilities but you have to remember that this is a family run place that mainly runs off of donations. And it’s only $ 6! Where else can you see all these animals for only $ 6?! Definitely worth a visit

My friend and I took our three girls to the zoo today. They had a blast getting to look at the animals and we loved that it was a short drive on the other side of town. truly great educational experience for the girls(4, 3 and 2) What bothers me is the fact that after the fire there has been much needed to rebuild. They need volunteers and funding. I am ashamed that the community has failed to pull together and help where it is clear they need help. I read the reviews on here and the complaints of cats are ridiculous. Do you realize that jerks abandon their cats there all the time? The animals are rescues, why doesn’t anyone care to help raise money and get this zoo to its true potential?

One star is too many. Please do not get out of your car. This place is an abomination from the moment you pull into the driveway. We found it on a website that made is appear as though it is a legitimate zoo. Believe the reviews because it looks like a ramshackle dump. I initially thought it was a joke and it might be a lark to go in to see a few chickens and goats, but a saner spouse prevailed I don’t know how people actually pay to visit this place and I certainly wouldn’t take my children there. It sounds frightening. The poor animals.

The conditions that these animals are subjected to are simply deplorable. Feces and rotting carcasses litter the cages. I understand they had a large fire not too long ago, but the zoo ought to be shut down. Only 2 staff members on the property and it took less than 30 minutes to exhaust all entertainment from this wretched site. Seriously thinking about contacting animal rescue on this one. Also, there is a box labeled«Meat Donations Only» in the parking lot…
