Maybe I expected too much out of this place. Pros: –trivia on Saturday night! This is why I came! Very fun. –extensive beer list! –tons of TVs to watch the game –attentive service Food: This was my first visit here. The nachos sounded good. Topped with chicken, steak, or chili. I chose chili, but on the side so it wouldn’t make the chips soggy. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but I felt like they were nachos I could have made myself. Maybe even made them better myself. I didn’t care for the chili. It was pretty salty. Now, I still ate my food. But it was just okay. I will probably come back here for trivia, and definitely order something different next time. Maybe I will like the food better?

This is a terrific place for good food and great atmosphere… if you remember it is a sports bar so it will be loud. They accommodate large parties and kids enjoy the restaurant as much as adults. Salads rock and it is hard to find a better burger!

We had an early dinner here with a large group of people before baseball. There is plenty of room for large groups. The service and food were average. No complaints and nothing outstanding to mention.

Always a great place to watch a game. Great service and definitely above average for bar food. This is a regular hang out for us. Highly recommend the Blue Cheese Chips, Fried Macaroni and Cheese, Wings and Burgers! All the girls that work in the bar are awesome!

Always the best hot wings… just like Three Dollar Café and they have a Texan burger that will knock your socks off. Come hungry and enjoy! Rachel & Leslie are awesome servers!

Ok first this is a sports bar but much better than T Mac it has cold beer and the food is better than T Mac. It’s a great local place that you don’t have to put up with the crowds and the loud kids that you do at T Mac so it’s a much better choice for sports bar to watch the games and have something to eat.

I have visited the Black Diamond Grill multiple times on different occasions and I always go with the same group. One of the patrons usually go with is extremely picky about service, food, etc but she’s sold on the BDG. There are daily specials(even on the weekends). If you don’t stick with fried food, salads, or sandwiches, prices for the main entrees can get a bit pricey. For example, you can order the Grouper sandwich(which is the dish I usually order) either fried or grilled that comes with a huge piece of fish(choice of grilled or fried) and a side item. For about $ 4 more, they ditch the bun and replace the fries with rice pilaf, one additional side Item of your choice, and add a cream sauce to the dish. The grouper sandwich(grilled) is phenomenal. Served hot with great flavor, I usually ditch the bun to save a few calories and dip the fish in the tartar sauce. I’ve had a good bit of the appetizers including the sampler, smoked fish dip, and the queso, all of which are really great. A few cons: the lighting in the place can be quite frustrating depending on where you sit in the evenings. They have bright, studio like spotlights that cause our table to ask to be moved or we play musical chairs for someone willing to put sunglasses on at night. They usually point directly into your eyes, blinding you. It’s a sports bar, so games are always on, but pair the LOUD tv’s with louder fans and sometimes you can’t even talk to the person next to you, without the fans the TV’s are abnormally loud. Service can be subpar, a lot of younger staff cause for them to complain about being ready to get off & horse playing while cleaning/talking about inappropriate things in front of patrons. Overall, I will continue to return to BDG when visiting my friends who live nearby. A few changes to service etc will eventually bring this place to a 5 star review because the food is PHENOMENAL!

BDG is a local neighborhood sports bar that handles both the local bar crowd while offering a dining room for families. Food is consistent and good. Service is friendly. Noisy venue, but in a lively way. Not a fan of the smokers camped out in front of the front door. Not good for people to walk through — lingering smoke smell turns off from decent fare.

This place is a must visit in Cumming GA. I like to thank Terry for taking the time to leave feedback on my review. In all fairness the night I was there it was packed for a UFC fight and the staff did their best. I will def be back and recommend them to all my friends.

Great food for the price point!!! I highly recommend the Grouper tacos … good stuff. I’ve rated as four stars since it gets real loud when crowded. The acoustics are bad and conversations bounce off walls… started getting an earache halfway through my meal.

I think Black Diamond is great. My kids alwAys ask to go. We frequent after baseball games and the service and food is always good. We’ve been there at least 15 times and left satisfied each and every time. Wings are a bit pricey so I usually go with the salads but all in all, it’s a 5 star all day!

Black Diamond bar and grill is the only thing like itself in this area. If you looking for a non mainstream sports bar then this is your place. The environment here on gameday is great but it doesn’t get to out of control. Everything on the menu is great. When I meet my family here to watch football we get a bunch of different dishes and we all split them. The nachos, wings, and the mushroom and onion chicken sandwich are all great. If you like to sit in the bar area make sure you ask for Shelley if you are there on the weekends. She is great! She is very energetic, and always makes sure you know she is there to please the customer. If you don’t like something she wants to know. This is a great neighborhood bar and is highly recommended by me and my family!

Average is a very good way to describe this place. Average food, average service. Prices are a little above average for what you get. Overall I wouldn’t say it is worth it. The panko bread crumbs on the 5 onion rings I got with my meal were a nice touch but certainly not worth the almost $ 45 dollars my check was.

Please please play some country music :) we love Black Diamond because it is so close to home and we can enjoy hanging out with our friends here, but more variety of music would be greatly appreciated. Way too much Classic Rock. Thanks!

Food is avg to above-avg. We always do takeout and SVC is usually okay. Just make sure to always inspect order before leaving. Most times the main bar area has music or TV so loud you can’t even think. For that, I don’t think I could ever do sit down here.

Food was good, but service was non-existent. My beverage was never refilled and waited excessively for the check and change.

Overall a typical bar and grill menu. Only giving this 3 stars because they cut corners — the pecan pie was a micro-slice; embarrassingly small. And seriously — who EVER charges for coffee refills anymore? Coffee drinkers should either settle for one cup or be ready to open a tab.

Black Diamond grill has become our go-to for Saturday night trivia lately. The place is HUGE, so you don’t ever have to worry about not getting a table, but it does attract a big trivia crowd, which is fun. It doesn’t get wild and crazy, but it’s still a really fun atmosphere. Their menu is huge, everything from bar food to fish, to pasta, to their famous grouper sandwich. I really love their mac and cheese and their chipotle ranch! yum! Service is usually top notch and the food comes out hot. The manager always comes around to see how things are going. All and all a totally solid restaurant/bar!

Drinks and apps were very good. We had the nacho plate and there was plenty for all with lots of meat. My bud seemed to enjoy his draft beers and my mixed drink was perfect — just the way I would make it at home. Strong enough to taste the liquor but not so strong it took away from the mix. I had the Country Fried Chicken dinner. I asked multiple times if this was a fried chicken plate, like the kind of fried chicken you’d get from Mom and was repeatedly told that it was indeed a plate of fried chicken, not some kind of «chicken fried steak»(which is not chicken). When it came out, it most certainly was fried chicken but it was not pieces of fried chicken like you’d get at KFC(sorry I didn’t take a picture). It was a battered, flattened, fried chicken breast that was covered in white gravy. The mashed potatoes were also covered in white gravy and there was a side plate of vegetables lightly steamed sitting in a small amount of buttery-looking sauce. The vegetables were good. There were not over-steamed and had a good crunch to them but not so raw that you couldn’t eat them. The zucchini and carrots were especially good with just a tiny amount of the buttery sauce on them. The mashed potatoes were very good and the gravy wasn’t overpowering although there was a lot of gravy. I just moved over the gravy and the small amount that was left went well with the ‘taters. I’d lighten up on the gravy or just have it on the side. The chicken was very good. Moist on the inside and the light batter was good. Crunchy in some places but unfortunately too moist from the white gravy. While I was thinking that I’d be getting pieces of fried chicken(maybe a breast and a leg), I was still very happy with what I got. I think the amount of white gravy took away from the fried chicken taste though so if you’re going to get that, get it with the gravy on the side. To the chef… let us taste what we’re eating instead«hiding» it under a mountain of gravy. When restaurants do this it always makes me think they are covering up an inferior cut of meat. The chicken was very good — I think it could stand on it’s own(no pun intended) and maybe having the gravy on the side would let the customer dip to their content instead of having to try to find what’s under it. Either that or just use a third(maybe a fourth) of what you’re currently using. I know gravy is cheap, but my taste buds aren’t and they know what they like. I had a good time at Black Diamond. It’s not a fancy-schmancy upscale foodie place. It’s a good place to get a decent meal and have a decent drink with friends. I’ll definitely return.
