I went here several months ago and had a great appointment. Rescheduled after my trip, showed up and was told my stylist wasn’t there. Okay. Today I made a hair appointment for my 90 year old grandmother and when I got there the girl says.“oh sorry Ashley is overbooked”. Really??? Do you know my time is as important as yours? Do you know how to call someone and leave a message? Will never go back and will be sure to tell everyone I know never to go there.

I had my hair cut here 6 months ago. It was so awful, I have had to wait until now to find a new salon and get it cut again just so the damage could grow out. I asked for a trim, but to keep my hair long enough to pull into a pony tail. I was 9 months pregnant at the time, so I knew that a ponytail would be a necessity during childbirth and the weeks to follow. I also asked for very slight layering just so it would lay nice and not flip out in the back. After the stylist washed my hair, I struggled to get out of the shampoo chair. Remember… 9 months pregnant. The scene was similar to a turtle flipped on it’s back. It would have been nice for her to even offer a hand in helping me to sit up. Then on to the haircut… I ended up with chin length hair, and a LOT of layers– the shorter layers were a few inches shorter than the longer ones. Definitely could not get it into a ponytail. And after getting home and washing it, no amount of round brushing could stop the back from flipping out. I have been forced to wear my hair in a half pony tail for months waiting for the shorter layers to grow out. My family pictures and all pictures of me with my newborn were ruined because my hair in all of them is either half ponytail, or flipping out all over. These precious memories were soured by the shoddy haircut I recieved. Maybe it was because I got one of their less expensive stylists, but I shouldn’t have to pay $ 75+ to get a decent simple haircut. I will not be back… I will not name the stylist publicly, but at this salon, I have a feeling that you get what you pay for. Either pay big bucks for a master stylist or steer clear.

I’ve been here twice for brow/lip waxing. The first experience was great — my stylist was Summer and she was wonderful. But then I went a second time and it was the actual worst salon experience I’ve ever had. After yesterday, I will not be going back and Summer(my previous stylist) is the only reason this review has any stars at all. First, my new stylist was very loud and crass, which — whatever. I don’t need to love my stylist’s personality if I love her work. However, I got the impression this stylist was more interested in telling me about her bra size than paying attention to what she was doing to my face. Maybe I should have stopped her or requested someone new but apparently I am a little too trusting of a person. I walked in with a beautiful set of natural brows that just needed to be cleaned up. «Clean up the stragglers» is I believe how my stylist communicates to me before she began. She did not ask me anything else, so I(understandably) assumed she would be doing minimal work on my brows. However, that is not what happened. Did I mention she didn’t even show me my brows before I left? Yeah. That. So I got in my car, looked at my brows, and then began the grieving process. She severely over-waxed them. Severely. Yesterday they were full and beautiful. Today they are half the size and I hate them. They are severely thin and are not even shaped evenly. One is slightly arched and is too short(doesn’t even go to the outside corner of my eye) and the other is significantly less arched than the other. She also didn’t even clean up the sides. Worst experience ever.

Great service, as always. Roya did an awesome job cutting my hair(I have very fine hair, hard to get a nice cut). Will be back to this location for sure.

I’m new to the area and went here for the first time last Saturday. The salon felt very relaxed and welcoming with plenty of natural light. The front desk staff was friendly and courteous. Roya knew just what to do with my crazy post-pregnancy hair. I’m very happy with my new do and will be going back.

I made an appointment here after my sister raved about how wonderful the salon is so I thought I’d check it out. The salon is located about five minutes away from my parents house in Vickery Village. The building was gorgeous definitely not your average run of the mill salon. Everything was clean and organized with minimal décor and great architectural lines. I loved that they had a work station for guests to sit at with a computer and that it was in the middle of all the action and not squeezed in upfront. My stylist was really friendly but also very busy I think she was double booked that day. She sat down with me to discuss the styles I liked and even pulled up pictures on her tablet to ensure our vision was the same. For those curious, I chose a Jennifer Aniston layered cut with full bangs!!! Overall, the cut turned out great and I had a really great time chatting with her assistant while she was blow drying my hair. I really enjoyed my salon day here and would go back.

Sometimes a girl just needs a little beauty touch up. Can I get a witness? Lucky for me a Joseph and Friends salon is located within walking distance of my office. So, I called and made an appointment for a brow wax(and sometimes beauty is pain, people). Just a tip, they have one phone line for all locations. So, don’t bother searching for a phone number for the location you wish to visit. The salon is part of the Aveda network, so the front waiting area is loaded with all of the available Aveda products neatly displayed in categories. The staff was very friendly and not overbearing as sometimes is the case at upscale salons. And never once did I feel like they were pressuring me to make a product purchase – insert sigh of relief. Having never been to this salon, I was given a quick tour around to where the changing rooms were, as well as the restrooms and various stations. This is a very open, spacious, inviting salon. I noticed stations where patrons could set up their laptop, as well as use salon computers for checking email, etc. One woman was taking advantage of this service, seated at the salon’s computer while the colorist applied foils. I was then returned to the waiting area to have a seat until the stylist came to get me, which was literally 10 seconds later. My past experience with getting my brows waxed at a salon has been that there are separate chairs in the makeup area where the waxing is performed. At Joseph and Friends, I was taken back to the hair-washing sinks. I thought it was strange at first, until I sank down into the chair. Oh. My. Goodness. These chairs were the best reclining chairs for hair sinks that I’ve ever sat in. Never have I been this comfortable while getting hair ripped off of my face. Plus, the wax that is used at this salon is very gentle and left very little residue. The stylist was very meticulous about getting my brows even and lined up. And she was friendly and funny. I actually felt like I’d been to this salon before and was familiar with the stylists and admins. I’ll definitely give them more of my business!
