The Cleaning Authority

We hired this company to do our bi-​weekly house cleaning after our prior housekeeper stopped servicing our area. The business concept is great — they have a rotational deep-​clean system so, in theory, by their third visit your whole house is deep cleaned. This sounded perfect and that, along with their thorough list of what’s cleaned each week, is why I chose them. It sounded like their attention to detail was what I was looking for. However, do not be fooled!!! What is promised in their pamphlets and website is not how this company actually cleans. What they call a deep clean is a sub-​par normal clean from the other companies I have used in the past. The cleaners literally vacuum around objects instead of picking them up and moving them. And I don’t mean heavy furniture, I am referring to bathroom scales, bath mats, waste paper baskets, etc. They do not mop or vacuum under kitchen tables, bar stools, coffee tables. I literally had to follow them around moving the chairs and pointing out every crumb they missed. They never washed the outside of the refrigerator, microwave, or stove. The countertops were brushed off but not washed. The floors on our terrace level were swept but not washed. The corners and edges of the floors were not vacuumed. They do not clean mirrors or the inside of French doors. The cleaners were on their cell phones texting and literally cleaned at a snail’s pace. My previous housekeeper and her partner took no more than three hours to clean our house, spotless! After following this company around, pointing out things for four hours, I finally gave up and fired them. The only reason why I gave this company two stars and not one is because the owner, Donna, was receptive when I called to complain after all three cleans. Turn-​over is high — we never had the same cleaner more than once. And the service is terrible. They do not live up to their promises. Although the owner tries, she has no control over the cleaning process.
