Totally Running

Every time I go into Totally Running and Walking it is a very pleasant experience. Kim Hall, the owner, truly cares about helping customers get the most out of running and healthy living.

TOTALLY DISAPPOINTING!
I was very disappointed in this store because I went in with certain expectations that just weren’t met. If I choose to go into a smaller store that specializes in a particular item, I am expecting exemplary customer service. In this case, I wanted to try a smaller store in order to get a custom fit and that can only begin by asking the right questions. If you don’t know how I will be using the shoes or what issues I have with my feet, how are you going to help me select the right shoe for me? If I am attempting to assist someone with finding the right shoe, I am first going to be asking a series of questions:
What type of activity will you be doing while wearing these shoes?
Do you have any current issues with your feet?
Do you prefer a particular brand of shoe that tends to fit you well?
If they are trying on the shoes, I will then want them to simulate the activity that they will be doing while wearing the shoe, (if possible).
Perhaps my problem had more to do with the young lady who assisted me today. While nice and engaging, she was clearly distracted by her team playing on the telly. The first shoe that she laced up for me was so loose that I was walking right out of it and I realized it had not been completely laced. No problem, we adjusted. However, with each subsequent shoe she tied, it was very loose, with no adjustment to the laces and I had to have my husband retie them. If she had spent more time focusing on the fit of the shoes instead of watching the telly, we might have had a better outcome.
This store is very small with a very limited inventory and I was not pleased with the color choices. I knew a few shoes in that this was simply not my store and I would not be purchasing shoes here.
Perhaps it is better suited for the seasoned athlete purchasing a specific brand.
I noticed that there are no recent reviews so maybe the staff has changed since the previous reviews were written and this may explain the disparity between earlier experiences and the one I had today. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTING!
Edit on ¹⁄₁₃ Just as a side note: the specific Asics that I saw in this store in bright coral was actually located at Off Broadway Shoes in Cumming for $ 30 less and in a more reasonable color. Their customer service is always on point, (yes I would say impeccable), and if they don’t have it, they can order it and I usually get my shoes within two days.
If you find something that works, stick with it. Lesson learned!

Needed a pair of shoes to walk with for now! and transition into running. Was told this store would be a great place to help me with my troublesome feet (narrow and plantar fasciatis). Had a GREAT experience! Travis knew how to help me with my shoe selection. They have a treadmill there so you can walk or run in the shoes to see how they really feel. He helped me know what size I really needed to be comfortable and injury free. Such a great place, my husband (the real runner in the house) got a pair of new shoes too!
I’ve found my new go-​to place for shoes. Worth the trip!

My wife bought some Asics running shoes and was pleased with the friendly service and knowledge of the staff. She also ran in the Thanksgiving 10K they organized this year and loved it. Much better than getting up at 5:00 AM and heading to downtown Atlanta.

This is a great place to buy your running equipment. They have a friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. They have a great selection and if they don’t have the right size or style they will special order it for you to try with no obligation to buy.
We have purchased about 5 pairs of shoes here and we will continue to look here first for all of our running gear!

I bought my most recent pair of running shoes (Brooks Green Silence) at Totally Running’s Cumming location.
I had bought a Groupon for the store and this was my first experience shopping at the store.
They had a good selection of minimalist running shoes from several running exclusive brands like Brooks, Mizuno, and Saucony. (They don’t sell Nike, so if you are looking for Nike, look elsewhere).
They brought me a lot of competitive shoes to try out on their instore treadmill. They were content to let me try each shoe as I wanted and make an unpressured decision.
Shoe prices are in line with the major on-​line sites.
