I would give zero stars if I could. By far, the worse doctor I have met in my 40 years of life. First time patient to Dr. Kar and it was uncomfortable and unprofessional. Dr. Kar shares her office with Dr. Sofia Jalilie who I was suppose to be assigned to. So if you are thinking of choosing Dr. Jalilie, know that they share patients and you will be seen by Dr. Kar when Dr. Jalilie is not availabile. After the male nurse took my vitals and asked routine history questions, I was left waiting in the room for a short time. Without knocking, the door suddenly flings open with a plain clothed lady staring blankly at me asking if we’ve met before and that I look familiar. I have no idea who she was since she did not introduce herself to me and was not in any type of identifiable scrubs/name tag. I introduced myself and asked if she was Dr. Kar. Indeed it was and she was still trying to jog her memory as to where we have met in the past and that I look so familiar. I have not met Dr. Kar until the day of my appointment and she must have me mixed up with someone else. During my time with Dr. Kar, she had asked about my previous providers and insurance history. She learned that I have dual coverage from my employment and through my spouse. After hearing that I have two different options in insurance coverage, she tried to talk me out of using my current insurance by telling me her past patient’s issues with the same type of insurance. She warned me that if I stayed with my current insurance that I will never get a referral and will have to wait for months at a time. After letting her know that my husband has had the same insurance for 18 yrs without any referral issues, she toned it down. However, she still had to tell me in closing that I should change insurance as my employer(insert tech company name, ie: Google, Apple) has great insurance and that I make good money and it shouldn’t be any issue. I was appalled. What does working for the company that I work for and making the money that I make have anything to do my preference of insurance got anything to do with Dr. Kar? To sum it, it’s been a month since I’ve seen Dr. Kar and maybe it’s out of spite but she has not given me the referral that we talked about and didn’t follow through with prescribing allergy meds as we talked about. I’ve placed two calls to her office since with no call back. Seems to me that she probably gets paid more with one insurance than the other and seeing that I had a choice of the two, she tried very hard to persuade me. Shockingly unprofessional from start to end. If you’re thinking of choosing this doctor, you better make sure your insurance is good enough for her or else she won’t bother with you. If you are a patient of hers, you still have time to change PCP before the start of the next month!

I love Dr Kar and Dr Jalilie — this isn’t the fanciest of offices but the care is top notch and thorough. Both ladies are lovely.

Office staff needs to be replaced! Dr. Kar is a great MD, very attentive, through, and a great listener. Her office staff is very rude and the opposite of the doctors they represent. They do not listen, very abrupt and seem complacent, if there job depended on review or input from the patients they serve they would be without a job.

I have been seeing Dr. Kar for 10 years now and she is a wonderful physician. I have also seen the other MD’s in her office(Dr. Jalilie) and I have no complaints. They are both wonderful. She is always thorough and communicative and listens. If I need something non urgent I can always email her via the patient portal. She has been very helpful throughout the years as I have struggled with many chronic and acute illness and needed notes for work/school. I have sent many people to her.

Dr. Kar is a thorough doctor. She listens and remembers your issues for next time. I have been very pleased with communicating via messages and receiving answers. I am not used to PPO systems and missed the efficiency of Kaiser or Palo Alto Medical Foundation. It takes time to learn the system and availability of weekend services is not there at their office. Place looks old and in need for renovation. But Dr. Kar deserves a great review from my part.

I have ben going to Dr. Kar for my annual physical for 4 years. She is extremely in tune with Men’s health issues and has excellent bedside manner. Wish I could do blood work and go to appointment… instead of appointment-blood work-appointment.

I am unhappy with my visit and follow up with Dr. Kar and her staff. There seems to be a communication problem between the reception staff and Dr. Kar. I feel she didnt listen to me, and has a slight arrogance about her. Dr. Kar prescribed two medications for me. One of them made me ill. I asked the receptionist to relay this and no one did. The second medication was not refilled on time, twice, thus costing a few hours in wasted time at the pharmacy. The last straw was when a reception staffperson asked me if I’m still taking the first medication. The medication that made me sick. A general pain in the butt experience. Time to take my business elsewhere. DM

Dr Kar is an outstanding health professional. I have been seeing her for a few years now and the thing which separates her from the rest of the health carte industry is that she takes interest in her patients, their well being and overall lifestyle. Don’t worry what the office looks like or the location of the bathrooms, the most important thing is that she takes a genuine interest in her patients overall health and well being! Dr Kar is the best GP I have ever had. SHV

I’ve only been to Dr. Kar twice, the second time being a follow-up after my first visit. Dr. Kar shares a suite with several other doctors. The suite itself was shabby and did not look like the most clean/sanitary place. The suite was also surprisingly cluttered. I tried my best not to touch anything there, especially after seeing a partly rusty soap dispenser in one of the bathrooms. Dr kar herself was OK. I don’t have anything particularly positive or negative to say about my experience with her. She asked me a couple of quick questions about my illness, gave me a customary exam, and then I was out the door. she has a slight accent, so if you’re not accustomed to foreign accents, it’s probably best if you go elsewhere for a complicated illness or if you need a lot of verbal guidance/explanation from you doctor. The receptionists/assistants here were not particularly attentive, but wait time was only 10 – 15 mins.
