My Husband and I went through Michael’s Photography and I am very pleased with their service and final product.
We met with Michael a year prior, to review wedding details and pricing. Every time I had a question or concern, Michael and his staff promptly replied. Michael and Sue ensured all ducks were in a row and on the day of the wedding, Michael’s staff new exactly what we wanted. No questions asked!
Michael had our proofs ready in 6 weeks as promised and all photos turned out beautiful. They captured every moment, tear, laugh, kiss… you name it!

By the way, when the proofs are ready, they create a disk with all proofs and even give you a link to view your photos. He even programs it on your phone. So savvy!

We worked with Sean for our Engagement Photo Shoot and for our Wedding. Sean made our Engagement Photo shoot a fun and enjoyable time. Both me and my wife are not comfortable in front of the camera, and Sean knew exactly what he needed to do to make our photos come out great. Sean also helped us pick the photo shoot locations based off of his experience.
As for the wedding, we had a three day wedding, with two separate events that Sean attended. He captures everything we could ask for. Although he did not have a whole lot of experience with Sikh Weddings, Sean was open and willing to learn about the major ceremonies and the necessary moments he needed to capture in pictures.
Sean provided all of the pictures, proofs, and the wedding album ON TIME! This was our biggest concern as we have heard horror stories about couples getting their wedding albums months and months after their wedding. Sean promised a time frame. When the deadline was approaching, before we could email Sean, Sean had emailed us and told us that the work was complete. It was an easy process and he was prompt and professional.
As for price, Sean worked with us to fit our budget. He understood what we wanted and we felt he went above and beyond to make our wishes fit within our budget. I would recommend Michael’s Wedding Group to anyone looking for a photographer.

My fiancé and I wanted to do a vintage photo shoot for our engagement shoot. There were lots of elements that needed to work flawlessly that day. For starters, I needed a location that would fit my ideas, I had no clue where to start but Sean did! He suggested Alviso, a place that I never wold have thought of myself. I had coordinated with a car club member to use his 65 (or 55 — can’t remember) deluxe for the shoot and I wanted to be respectful of everyone’s time. Sean and Michael were early to the shoot and didn’t bother me with «time» they were really about achieving all the poses that I wanted and they came out AMAZING. Everyone loves them and the car club member asked that I give him copies for his garage!
I loved the engagement photos SO much I decided to select them for our wedding, how could we not! Video was also a huge desire of mine and as any bride can tell you, photography and videography is some of the largest expenses in a wedding and there are lots of «RULES» like time, printing, rights to prints… all that other red tape. I had no desire for any of that and MICHAELS WEDDING GROUP DELIVERED! As part of their normal protocol, there is NO time limit and they stay until you are HAPPY and after the event you get all your photos, rights to your photos… etc! Made my life incredibly EASY and the cost… UNBEATABLE!
On our wedding day they did a phenomenal job, they showed up to the hotel where we were getting ready, early again. took video and photos simultaneously and running so smoothly together in the background. At the church they were very contentious of where to stand, what the Catholic Church boundaries were in terms of disrupting mass and it made my day so much simpler not having to worry about any of that! They flawlessly captured the entire day, even down to the tinyest of details like the food that was served! What a great way to relieve the perfect day. They stayed until I was HAPPY and that was exactly what they asked… if there was any other photos I wanted, etc…
Following the wedding, the communication was wonderful, quick responses, easy to work with and going above and beyond ALWAYS to achieve what you want and they have such and awesome sense of humor and great personalities! Makes the photos come out so much better when there is natural laughter.
I adore them tremendously and I couldn’t think of a better company to recommend to brides looking for the perfect match!

We have used them for engagement photos (on location in sf) and a family photo shoot (in studio).
The photographers are nice & patient (not easy with little ones), prices are quite reasonable, and photos came out great.

We met Michael’s Wedding Group at the SJ Bridal Fair and the quote we received was very reasonable for what was included. We met with them in the beginning of the process to go over initial expectations and to review portfolios. We then met with them again the week before the wedding to go over a timeline and last minute details… which was very helpful since we knew what to expect.
We were so happy to choose Michael’s Wedding Group! Sean and his assistant were amazing and very professional! They had energy and interacted with our bridal party and guests quite well! We look forward to seeing our photos!

Michael and his gang were AMAZING! They were great at communicating and easy to work with from the start. We used them for our engagement shoot in SF and Wedding events. They looked into our venues and made sure they were familiar with the lighting etc for the big day. We sent them some pics ideas of what we liked and after getting to know us they really did a great job at capturing our personality.
They were also really good with capturing details and quick moments. They had our timeline and were always ready when we needed them to be (example: we were going to take group family pictures before the reception dinner and the photographers were ready and also gathered my family to get it done in time). Right before we cut the cake, one of the photographers, Van asked us if we knew the ‘cake cutting protocol” and gave us a quick tip on how to do it right for the pictures.
We would highly recommend them!

Michael’s Wedding Group did an amazing job at our September wedding. We were very grateful that he and his team traveled to Boundary Oak in Walnut Creek. They were professional, yet had a wonderful sense of humor that put everyone at ease. It was obvious they knew what they were doing, no matter the venue. They made sure to capture all candid moments and were accommodating when we asked for certain pictures to be taken. It’s going to be hard to wait to see the pictures they took!

We used Michael’s wedding group for our wedding photos and video. Michael was our main photographer, very professional and easy to communicate. Our wedding was on a super hot day, but Michael and his crew worked really hard on our wedding day. We loved all our photos and they sure did an amazing job on our video. Highly recommended. Sean and all the staff at Michael’s Wedding Group are amazing, and I was very happy with the work they did for our engagement and wedding photos. I highly recommend them.
I met Sean at a wedding fair in January of 2013, and I got married in June 2014. At the fair, Sean was so easy to talk to and my instincts told me that this was the right person to hire as our photographer. I am so glad I went with my gut because Sean was there for every milestone in our 1.5 year engagement, and it’s hard to imagine how things would have turned out without him. He really understood us as a couple and worked with us well.
In addition to their beautiful work, Michael’s Wedding Group really goes the extra mile when it comes to service. They worked with our budget and helped us customize our package to include an engagement photo shoot, album, a full wedding video, and 1000+ wedding photos. They were also very flexible in terms of scheduling meetings around our work schedules. They are very responsive and never took longer than a day to get back to me when I had questions. Sean even spent an hour with me the week before the wedding going over my day-​of timeline with me, giving me tips and suggestions that would help us capture the best photos.
Sean and Van’s blend of professionalism and warm personalities really shined through on our wedding day. With all the craziness going on, they were able to get all the shots they needed and really guided Jamie and I to stick to the timeline while still allowing us to enjoy ourselves. I also really appreciated how Sean was able to perform crowd control in such a friendly manner, which is so necessary now that everyone wants to capture their own photos with their phones.

To begin with, they were so friendly, each of of them. Were very flexible too from the first meeting and till now.
We had our engagement photo shoot scheduled 2 weeks ahead and on the day of shoot there was rain pouring, yet they picked up location indoor as well as outdoor so that we will have it the same day.
They gave us our engagement photo shoot pictures in in just 3 days… UNBELIEVABLE… And all the pictures were awesome. Me and my husband were so happy. We were so glad what we chose them. And even during engagement photo shoot it didn’t feel like posing because Shawn kept on cracking jokes to make it look natural. And 100% poses were his creativity. We really enjoyed the photo shoot.
During the wedding they were very punctual and captured our moments well. They also made a slideshow for the guest in reception who missed the wedding in the morning. They made six minute video with a very beautiful songs collection. Wow!!!
They are very good in communicating back and forth. Our wedding pictures turned out awesome. We didn’t miss a single guests from our picture. They covered it all. And also the video was great… It looked at we were watching. Movie where me and my husband were the celebrity :)
Finally comes the album. Fantastic work! It’s something we can keep to show it to our great grand children. It’s a masterpiece.

For all future brides and grooms, Michael’s Wedding is the photographer that is a MUST!!! Once my fiancé and I got engaged and the venue was booked. Our next thing, we had to book was a photographer for our special day. Wasn’t sure what to look for and where to start… as we searched and did our homework, we came across Michael’s Wedding online as well as many other photographers in the bay area. Of all the photographers and profolio’s we saw online, both my fiancé and I kept going back to Michael’s Wedding. So many beautiful, unique, and candid shots that was very personal and yet professionally taken that made the pictures stand out. I call and made an appointment with Sue and from day one, she was extremely nice and sweet. She answered all my questions and showed me photo albums to look at and also get a feel about the photographers work. I also noticed a blown up picture of a couple that was married at the same venue we booked at. Right there and then, I knew I was in good hands and I wanted Michael’s Wedding photographers to be a part of our special day. We had our engagement session first with Sean, one of the main photographers. He met us in San Francisco at 3 beautiful different locations. On the day of the wedding, our photographer Sean and his assistance, Howard was super nice and very professional. Both, Sean and Howard did a great job and so many creative ways of taking certain pictures. Once the wedding was over, we knew it would be quite awhile before we can see all the photos that was taken that night. It was worth the wait… the day has come. So many beautiful and fun shots of all of our family and friends. Great job and so many memories to share with family and friends… Again, thanks for making our special day with great pictures forever! Greatly appreciated, the newly married Mr. & Mrs. Long :)

I had my. wedding in 2012 and something reminded me to write this review. They were ok.
If u book with anyone from the group it may be better than Michael. He lacked creativity and when I showed him what I meant he was offended and stormed off during the discussion after wedding. Very unprofessional. I am just cutting this short because I dont want to revisit everything.
I booked thinking I was going to get the person that did my sister’s wedding bc he was great and personable. His name I later found out was Sean. I thought Michael the owner of this would be even better but in the end I was wrong.
In summary besides the routine must-​hsve photo shots, that he captured but When it came to creativity on poses or letting us know if the pictures are looking good, he failed to do so. At least Let me know if hair was in my way during. the picture. That tuned a few possibly good ones! An example I can give is during my carriage ride he didn’t have any good photos if that as a whole. He took picture when we inside off it but it didnt come out too great but I also wanted to show off the carriage as s while. He took picture of the house a focal point and I was mini to that. He could’ve also jumped out of Carriage to take a pic of us but of course he didn’t think about that and complained how hot the weather was.
I regret not asking for Sean once I met Michael and didnt even like the engagement shoot. The language barrier made it hard for me to understand him and I always had to communicate with sue.
There still a lot of good reviews but it seems like it’s more credit to the other members and not soo much the owner.
So my tip is book with others from group if you want creativity and someone who makes sure you look good and not the scene. That’s what he says when I told him about why I dislike the shoot. He doesnt understand that while the scene is important we were the focus.
Disappointed and still haven’t printed my album bc of this.
I am still debating if I would want to. Even given if he hadn’t trashed it

My husband and I searched long and hard for the perfect wedding photographer (we also wanted video). we wanted someone more creative that really captured the moment not just point and shoot pictures.
That is exactly what we got with Michael’s Wedding Group! We ABSOLUTELY loved them and it was one of the best experiences of our entire wedding — as it should be… the pictures and video are all you have to remember the day by.
Our engagement session was so easy to schedule and we had Sean take our pictures. Them came out amazing — and they are very prompt in editing and getting everything back to you. We got a disk will all the pictures so we could make copies.
Same for our wedding. it has been 8 weeks since our wedding and we went through the holidays and i just got a disk with all our pictures today. they are GORGEOUS.
Michael was our wedding photographer and Sean did the video. You barely tell they are there and they capture all the best moments! I cannot wait for our wedding album.
Michael’s Wedding Group is professional, fun, and AMAZING. I would never suggest that you get wedding pictures from anyone other than them! We are so thankful we found them and will cherish our pictures and video forever!

This review is WAY long overdue…
Anyhow, Michael’s Wedding Group did a great job with both our engagement and wedding photos. We got our engagement photos within 6 weeks after our session and we were happy with the results of our pictures.
On the day of our wedding, we worked with Van and Sean. They were both great at what they did. We had a full day photo session and they were there from 8am to 10/​11pm at night. During the whole day they were busy capturing shot after shot of every detail of our event, from the time I was getting ready, to our Vietnamese ceremony, the church ceremony, bridal party shots, cocktail hour, guest entry photos, and reception. I felt like there was so much footage that it was like a video made into a photo slideshow. My husband and I were definitely happy with our pictures!
After the event, we worked mostly Sean. He was quick at getting us our photos. We actually got them within 2 months on a disc. He worked with many of our photos to photoshop them, change lighting, adjust angles, etc. He was also VERY quick at responding to our emails!
When it was time for our album to be made, we worked with Sue. Sean explained to us what we had to do for our album and how many pictures to choose and that Sue will take care of the rest. She did an awesome job putting our pictures together on the album to create a flow of events. Sue created backgrounds out of some of our pictures and somehow blended it all together with the other photos on the page. Our album told a story about our wedding from beginning to end We really like how artistic she is. Not to mention, we got our wedding album within 3 months.
My husband and I were definitely left happy working with Michael’s Wedding Group. Everyone from start to finish– Michael, Sean, Van, and Sue– did a great job at creating memories of our special day. Thank you, Michael’s Wedding Group!

Michael’s Wedding Group rocks! They are so thorough and made sure to get all of the shots that we wanted and then some. They worked really well together as a team and we were really happy that they were a photographer and videographer in one.
The whole team of photographers were professional, fun, and thorough. The pictures they took of us were amazing and surpassed our expectations. The shots they took were perfect and they were creative enough to suggest some shots that we absolutely love. One of our favorite things about them was that they got so many intimate shots but we never felt like they were «all over us» or got in the way of our ceremony and love. We cannot wait to see our wedding video and final finished product. Michael’s Wedding Group is awesome and we would recommend them to anyone for any occassion.

I met Van at a bridal fair in Santa Clara last January. He gave a very good impression of Michael’s Wedding group. Very friendly and professional. The displays were very impressive and caught my eye right away. Pricing was mid range & the package we selected came with a great amount of things. We got an engagement session, with a CD of pics, full wedding day (2 locations and 2 photographers), one large photo book, 2 parent books, 1 16X20 print and a CD with over 900 pics and full rights.
Sean did our engagement session and it was a blast! We chose AT&T ball park and he got some amazing photos. He was even nice enough to go with us over by the bay bridge so we can get some additional pics with the different background. The pics came out PERFECT. We are so excited to have pics of us on the field and all over the stadium. They really are priceless. I couldn’t have asked for better.
The day of our wedding — Sean and John were with us the entire day. They were a pleasure to work with and made taking pics very easy. My husband HATES taking pictures so for them to be able to capture so many great pics of him and make him laugh and have fun while doing it was no easy task. I’m thankful for that alone. =)
We were so lucky to get so many great pics. To start our day I was in a hotel room with not very many pretty options for pics. They got really creative and captured so many great shots, I was surprised ! At the winery they captured endless amazing shots. They got some great little pics of my dog too, which made my day. =)
Needless to say, we were very pleased with our pictures and the over all experience. Our photo book came out beautiful! If i had one to pick one negative thing, it would be I wish some of the prints were edited a little better. There were a few i would have edited a little more closely but it’s probably only things that bother me so not that big of a deal. 99% of the photos were gorgeous!

My wife and I met Michael and Van at the San Jose bridal fair back in 2011. I approached Van asking him if they had done any hybrid Vietnamese and Filipino weddings and his respond was «of course!». He showed us some of the samples they had done through out the years and it looked awesome. We did not only wanted someone who can take good photos but also someone that knows the etiquette of our culture. We went with Michael’s Wedding Group and requested that Van to be our main photographer on the wedding day.
We took our engagement photos a couple months after hiring them and Michael and Sean was our photographer for the shoot. The pictures came out beautifully and we knew that our wedding day was going to be better.
Our wedding day consisted of Van and Sean as our main photographers. They were with us the whole time from the early morning to the tea ceremony, the actual ceremony and at the reception. Van was too cool! We was speaking Vietnamese to my family since some of the older folks didn’t understand English well. He knew the etiquette of the culture and executed it really well. Sean was also all over the place doing his thing and taking pictures.
We received our final photos two months after our wedding day. Sean edited them and they turned out great. The price we paid was reasonable compared to other photographers that my wife and I met with. It’s the quality of their work, service and price that makes this a 5 star review.

To be very straightforward, there is a difference between doing Caucasian and asian makeup. Especially around the eyes, and getting the right tone on the skin. Sue did a spectacular job on my hair and make-​up for both my engagement shoot and wedding.
She was professional, considerate, and accommodating. Originally, I was scheduled to come in at 9:30AM, but she was able to switch her appointments so that I could come in at 11AM for my 4PM wedding. I got many, many compliments on my hair and make-​up; it looked great in photos, but I still looked and felt like myself. All I needed to do was show Sue a picture of what I wanted (it was a photo of a blond girl) and she made it happen, despite the fact that I have slick and straight hair.
Her prices are reasonable and I really couldn’t have asked for anything more. My hair and make-​up lasted all night long through 2 additional dress changes and a lot of dancing. I would strongly recommend Sue to any bride or someone just wanting to look special for a day.

OMG. I don’t think I could be any happier!
We ran into Sean in SF while he was taking wedding photography of another couple. and when he mentioned their company name, it rang a bell! I’ve heard of them many many years ago (so I know they’ve been in business for a LONG time). and when I mentioned their company name to friends, we hear nothing but good things about them… how could we not go with them??!
One of the main reasons I chose Sean was because he spoke Cantonese (great for my parents who are very shy about the little English they know). But at the end of the day, we really thought what we saw of his work was fantastic. He really worked with us & our timeline on when we needed him & what we needed him to do. He actually worked with us through timeline changes several times (within just the last week — no probably the last few days before the reception)
Honestly, on the day of our reception (this past Saturday), Sean was the ONLY hired professional that I can say I’m 100% happy with. He was not only on time, but early and also helped ease stress for me. He didn’t pressure us with time, didn’t pressure us to keep things moving, basically he let things flow the way they did and took it as things came. In addition, my mom was demanding and wanted various shots taken. but we were pressed for time, as we were already late for other reasons. but he made sure to do as much as he could to please my mom & to make sure we went back into schedule as soon as we could. (believe me, I would have flipped out at my mom if Sean wasn’t kind enough to try to please her too)
In addition, during the reception, he was super patient with our friends and family. We had friends who brought their own equipment and took photos as well (with flash and all that stuff – which could easily annoy a photographer). Sean was super professional and seemed to cared a great deal. I didn’t really get a chance to talk too much with his assistant (Adrian?), but he seemed really friendly as well.
Overall, I felt that Sean really cared and played more of a role in our wedding than just our photographer. Now, these photos are pending (will update my review when I get them) but I’m 100% positive I will LOVE the pictures.

I ran in to Van from Michael’s Wedding Group at the SF and SJ Bridal Fairs in 2010. Great vibes from the beginning, he was very approachable and friendly. I think that’s what stuck out the most. While all the other photo vendors were being snobby, he was nice, easy to talk to, and funny even.
Long story, short… We chose Michael’s, due to the fact that they had the best service as well as offered what we were looking for in a photographer and quality of pictures. Great prices and payment plans!
Sue was great in always keeping us in the loop of payment status, updates etc.
Michael, the owner, gave us a better deal than anyone else for the pictures and extras that we got.
Van… What can I NOT say… He’s the best photographer ever! Easy to work with, so calm and collect, and professional.
John, his assistant was great too!
