My kids respond to the training here better than other kung fu schools in the area, and the price was good, but the BESTPART is that you can drop your kids off and come back 45 minutes later, ANYTIME it’s open. No more racing to get my kids dressed and in the car and through traffic to arrive late to class. The teacher/owner comes across as a hard-sell huckster with a fake laugh straight out of a Hong Kong action flick, but he actually cares about the quality of his students’ training, and he does it well.

My husband and I are so glad we found this studio! Our two kids(ages 7, 5) started this March and love coming here. Initially, our daughter was hesitant in participating in something so non-girly, but it has since become her favorite activity. The Shi Fus(who hail from the Shaolin Temple in China!) are highly skilled and demand excellence from their students. They are tough and want the kids to perform with precision. Nonetheless, they are encouraging, fun, and kind and genuinely seem to like kids. Whatever they’re doing makes our kids try harder and want to do their moves accurately. Interestingly, our daughter, who is quite shy, seems to have developed better self-esteem after several months of Kung Fu here. As to our son: he(the 5-year-old) was already a little out of control, but he seems to have settled down a bit. This change could be due to age, but the repetition of rules(e.g. respect toward teachers, parents) may have contributed to this change. Pros: Fun but tough instructors who really know their Kung Fu Cons: Dingy carpets in a small studio(nothing a shower afterward won’t fix) Overall, we’ve seen positive changes in attitude, and the kids look pretty impressive doing their moves.(I was surprised, but my daughter can really pack a punch!) Sounds like we’ve drunk the Kool-Aid, but if this studio caused the improved behavior and taught them some cool moves, then you can serve me another glass!
